A lot is changing at the lower tiers. MLS recently brought MLS Next Pro into existence, and that means a bunch of reserve sides that helped USL grow its league will be pulling out. I think the goal is to force USL to expand both its tiers at the expense of NISA, and that's already happened to some extent. The value and level of play in the USL Championship is comparable to that of the Canadian Premier League, and I hope that these leagues can get together on a regular basis. If the USLC offers to host a Leagues Cup style tournament in the southern US during the months of January and February, I think the Canadian league would go for that. Teams that do well in that tournament could hope to generate some type of qualifying tie-in with a continental tournament. This would really lock in the USL as the lower-tier league of choice, and it would be interesting to see how these leagues compare from top to bottom as they expand and grow.
I’d think the USL’s end goal is to provide a pipeline for their clubs to promote into MLS since they can’t be the top league themselves. If they implement pro/rel in their leagues they might accomplish their end goal by being absorbed by the MLS and Next Pro. NISA has to quickly get on either the MLS or USL train because if not their clubs will die out.
USL Super League will be 1st division just like the NWSL. USL W League is not a professional league and is effectively 4th division along with all other amateur leagues, since the US Soccer Federation only sanctions professional teams (Divisions 1-3). Which imo is kind of dumb, amateur soccer here is getting big and should probably have more of a framework around it.
Im Argentinian and what i want you to know its too hard to say how works xd Its soo chaotic and disorganized. A lot of name changes, format changes and number of teams changes lmao If must be controlled and operated by AFA or be an separated entity league, etc... USL has a vote coming up on Pro/Rel! I hope it passes. I might watch them more than MLS
I wish it did 😢
USL League actually based on EFL, but League Two actually is the third tier of EFL and fourth tier English football league system respectively.

USL W League is not the 2nd Women's tier but the 3rd. The incoming Super League will be the 2nd tier with an expected 12 teams to start in 2024.

Spokane started play in USL1 this season, and NCFC moved to USL-C this season.
Rogers Arkansas is joining USL Championship in 2026
how can i watch usl ?
Looks like ESPN. I have ESPN+ tho and it's not showing to be available for me. So I guess the ESPN/2/Deportes cable packages?
ESPN + broadcasts all USL Championship and League One matches. League Two is amateur and not televised.
@@FAITHandLOGIC Most USL2 teams do stream their games for free online, either on UA-cam, Eleven Sports Network, or somewhere on the team's website
Queensboro is on your list but they will not be in the USL Championship this season. No one knows what is happening with them.
