Hands down your videos are the most simplest, yet still the most detailed, breakdown of vehicle detailing on YT. Easy to watch, digest and understand. Cannot fault you guys at all. You make the concept of approaching detailing less daunting.
I used the one step today and it works so well, with the yellow revitalise pad it takes down swirls and webbing within one pass and it’s not too harsh to burn the clear, I used the dpx with max settings on a wet-sanded part and it gives good heat and results, but it takes some more time to get through major swirls but it works very well for the price, I’m well impressed
at 7:51 you sprayed with water based dressing and you said you'll come back at the end but you never got back to the engine bay, so you just leave it after spray the dressing?
Cracking video James the narrating was spot on, so much information and the reason for and why explained as to how you achieve the best results from the products you stock and sell .Great to see what can be achieved when you have the know how and the best products to hand .brilliant video 👍epic results.
As you can see, the car is being sold, and is going through the process of a pre sale detail. This involved machine polishing on this occasion, which no matter what, a professional will always decontaminate a vehicle weather it ‘appears’ to be clean or not to minimise risk of picking up contamination that we cannot see within the clear coat and moving it around the paintwork in the machine polishing process which could cause damage. Hope this helps Detailer Steve.
Using a brush straight to paintwork like that would cause damage for sure. The safest way is to spray, leave for a couple of seconds and then with a clean microfibre cloth, spray some obliterate into the cloth to help remove the melted tar. Don’t use a brush to agitate! Detailer Steve.
Me: SteamWash the engine bay, very very carefully, client sais alternator broke. AutoFinesse: power washes the whole engine everywhere, nothing happens.
Is it safe to blast the engine bay with the pressure washer? Do you need to cover the battery and alternator? New to detailing, but good clear video. 👌 even with all the ads.
What’s the difference between Dynamite and Citrus Power? I’m on my third bottle of Dynamite now and love it, but don’t understand what makes Citrus Power different?
I used the one step compound with a number 2 pad yesterday and got so much compound dust everywhere, how do I stop this? I didn’t use a pad lube but after a while I sprayed some water on the pad to see if that stops it but It didnt. I also wasn’t starting the da before having it on a panel so I wasn’t due to that
Yes it is, as long as you washed first, the surface should be clean. In theory, you want to touch the car the least possible, but in this case the iron out remover well act as a lubricant, and on a clean surface, it won't marr the paint.
@@AutoFinesseDetailing ok. But on UA-cams there are tests of 10 waxes with there respective glaze/pre wax cleaner. And Al the waxes lasted longer on bare paint (polish + IPA). With IPA... Only bilt hamber worked better with pre wax cleaner applied prior. And yes. Even auto finesse was in the test with rejuvenate and auto finesse Carnauba wax.
The products used here are for those who have a expensive motor and want it looking brand new, or they have OCD for cleaning a car. I wouldn't use this amount of products on a run around with an old plate 7 year plus or has worn paint finish. The bucket of suds and a wax finish be good enough for those, but wouldn't use these products look for cheaper stuff. Remember these are car detailers who pride themselves on giving clients a very good valet for price, not your local Turkish Romanian, hand wash to remove most grime. For the DIYer the costs for equipment to do this detailing would be quite expensive (Jet wash, snow lance, multiple detail brushes, multiple fibre clothes, drying towels, polish machine, polish pads, snub gun, wash brushes, wash mit, buckets with grit guards, wheel Woolies etc)
It would have been nice to be told the brushes and towels being used, and the detailer was hitting scraping the wheel arches with the brush, not acceptable on a customers vehicle, stating all purpose cleaner cmon what product and why not citrus based?. Lastly it would have been more beneficial if the detailer used an angled tip lance to rinse wheel arches and under sils. By the way you state not to use these products in direct sunlight, yet here you are using these products in direct sunlight.

Not at all, you should always use an Iron contaminant remover prior to a clay bar as simply claying this type of contamination off has 2 adverse effects. 1: this sharp metal contamination is the cause of most marring at the decontamination stage. 2: ferrous metal contamination becomes deep imbedded in the surface of the paint structure meaning claying alone usually only shaves off the head of this contamination leaving the rest embedded. So in short if you want to do the job throughly always 3 stage decon

Yes, spray and walk away. We would have gone back and wiped around any excess, perhaps we missed filming this.

Detailing a clean car
Most of my clients have a clean car. The cleanest people tend to be the people most likely to have their car detailed, most often.
As you can see, the car is being sold, and is going through the process of a pre sale detail. I dont do that, i clean it without jet.. i have real fear to do that

Im surprised you didn't use a brush to agitate the tar before wiping off. Slims recommended it a few weeks ago, not given it a try yet myself

How many days long for the whole process?
So do you only dry it once?
How are you not getting water spots?
They use drying towels
Does total interior cleaner need to be buffed off with a separate cloth? As when I use it on my steering wheel it leaves a shine unless I dry it off.
Great example, nice one!
serious, how long will it take to clean a car?
Depends massively on the car, it’s condition and what your trying to achieve

30mins swirl fest up to a few days/week for full detail

Why? At what point do you touch the paint with your hand flat to it? Curious to know.
