- I thought I had a lot of momentum after performing the Genesis version of this at Retrothon, but dang I had to earn it! Took me 4 total tries to finally get the RNG and my own abilities to cooperate enough to cash in. It's really a bad idea to play the Genesis version and then come to the NES; the speed is just way too different and everything gets frustrating, leading to bad mistakes. This run is all about being patient and just accepting the game will not often cooperate with you :)
There is singing at the end... be warned.
Big thanks to Zaltus33 for creating the run, GilmokToo for all the technical work and his WR run to really bring out a lot of the hidden knowledge of the game, and YT user @Can't See Me for pointing out how irrelevant visiting the princess was. Also thanks to Sedare for pointing out how we can net a little early game cash by replacing our starting 10 culverins with 1 saker, and then letting me know I only needed 5 sailors for Galleons, not 15, haha!

I have been trying to discern the Fame/investment formula for a decade.
So its Economy + Industry / 2 + (rng rolled number 1-99)?
Im testing this on MSDOS right now.
EDIT - It works exactly like this.
0-99, but yeah. Gilmok dug into the code a little and discovered it.
If the same things happened on Sega, how much faster do you think this run would be??
It's hard to say. My WR on the Genesis is pretty solid in parts, but didn't have any real bad battle quests. I had one in here. So I'd guess probably an hour or so quicker.
Now, I was a lot smarter in the early parts of this run, something that could help with the Genesis run. But I've probably spent 60-ish hours working on this over the last month... long runs take a toll :D
