Cleese isn’t just the guy from Fawlty Towers. He wrote Fawlty Towers and is one of the great comic talents of the 20th century. What I love about this scene, other than it being really funny, is how it sends up the tendency of the self righteous to go after anybody even when they’re on the same side.

Real Christians can take a joke, if it is actually funny. Many of the UK clergy, myself included split their sides laughing at Monty Python. Tbh if you think the technology we have now is anything to go by then consider that it's taken less then 100 years to get from steam engines to touch screen phones so erm... what happened in the few thousand years beforehand? Nothing new under the sun as they say. There's a serious possibility that what we think is high tech is actually old tech, really old... I know it sounds crazy but seriously think about it for a minute. Who knows I might be right.
Faulty Towers the German episode is a total classic for me
I haven’t seen it, I’ll add it to my list! 😊
@@LADYRAEUK Yes it is fantastic! 'Don't mention the war'!
Is this anything to do with “Fawlty Towers”..?
Saw it yesterday
The Germans is a must 😆
Favourites include from the The Holy Grail: French Castle Guards, Wooden Trojan Animal, Knights Who Say Nee ...
I like the Loretta scene! As well as the scene where Brian writes "Romans go home!" And this one. Such a funny play on the tetragrammaton.
Cleese isn’t just the guy from Fawlty Towers. He wrote Fawlty Towers and is one of the great comic talents of the 20th century. What I love about this scene, other than it being really funny, is how it sends up the tendency of the self righteous to go after anybody even when they’re on the same side.
Re. the last line here - that was certainly evident during the French Revolution!
This is a great scene and there are so many of them. The stuttering in the “Bigus Dickus” scene is simply the best.
That scene was just had me in tears.
The Mr. Creosote scene in Monty Python's Meaning of Life is so funny and disgusting at the same time. Showed it to my kids when they were about 10-11 years old. They loved it
"FUKK OFF, I'm full" - myself and my youngest still do that one at weddings etc. Always fun (although she still tends to say "you realise we've embarrassed both of us" afterwards. We've no intentions of stopping....).
The Holy Grail "The Black Knight" bloody brilliant.
yes, the fake beards where soo funny, it gets me too every time! laughed so hard...
that guy from Faulty towers was so hilarious!
The black knight fight from The Holy Grail, The Knights who say nee.
you have no power over me with nee or noo
it's ni
ni ni ni :D
The end of the film where they are being crucified and yet feel the need to sing "always look on the bright side of life"
I love just before that the crack suicide squad comes to the rescue by killing themselves in protest. I think the dying leader even says, "That'll show them.", thinking they really achieved something.
You might want to check out " The Dead Parrot Sketch / The Lumberjack Song"
"How Not to be Seen" was my introduction to Monty Python. It's still one of my favorites:

Python has been delightful since I first saw their TV show in the early 70s. They have many silly bits that are favorites. In this movie, the scene that seems to never get old is the 'Biggus Dickus' segment.
Everyone says that! 👍🏻👍🏻
Apparently the extras were told that they were not allowed to laugh - if they did they wouldn't be paid! And the whole scene was unrehearsed!
There are so many great scenes. The opening scene in the manger, Biggus Dickus, Romans Go Home, Welease Woger, the hermit in the desert.
You should check out the black night scene in holy grail! So so funny
"'Tis but a scratch..."
I think you mean Black Knight. After all, most nights are black and not particularly funny.
Hahah!! 😂
"All right, we'll call it a draw."
,,Argument room'', one of the best sketches.
Best of MP?
- The dead parrot
- Ministry of silly walks
- Interesting people
- The Spanish Inquisition
Just to name a few obvious ones.
I’ve heard great things about the dead parrot scene
"NOBODY Expects the Spanish Inquisition!" One of my favorites for sure!
Undertaker’s Sketch
“If you feel bad about it later; we’ll dig a hole and you can throw up into it”
I love the grammar lesson delivered to Brian by the Garrison guard. "..now write it 100 times!"
I've watched this movie about 100 times. . honestly and it puts me into pure belly laughing hysterical manic episodes
I don't know where to start but a personal favourite is"The Lumberjack Song." Watch any film though.
I haven’t heard about that one!
@@LADYRAEUK There are a few Monty Python films. Some are just sketch shows but try and find it on UA-cam. I am Lumberjack and I'm okay. The dead parrot sketch and many others. Just sit and watch the lot.
@@LADYRAEUK I'd recommend you take that clip from the compilation movie 'And now for something completely' as it replaced the lesser Barbershop sketch lead in with the classic Pet shop/dead parrot sketch.
I like the Terry Gilliam animation which shows the silhouette of three wooden crosses on a hill in the sunset, and as the picture zooms in, it become clear that they are three telegraph poles. I think that this one was lost or destroyed after people complained about it, but it was extremely funny.
"Life of Brian" is a comic gem.
I've seen it so many times, but it still makes me laugh.
They really know how to lampoon the absurdities of religion and history.
Imagine someone daring to do this to Islam? 😱
Probably my favourite scene from the films themselves is the "we have found a witch," scene from "Monty Python and The Holy Grail."
Real Christians can take a joke, if it is actually funny. Many of the UK clergy, myself included split their sides laughing at Monty Python. I have found over the years that a good way to re-launch a sermon, is to inject "and now for something completely different" before resuming. A visitor who was laughing afterwards said " I should have known you were a Pythonist"
Monty Python has been my absolutely top favourite comedy series.. From the "Nudge nudge" scetch, to the story of "The Piranha Brothers" .. And of course the tobaconist scetch.. "My hoovercraft is full of eels"..
Actually.. I love EVERYTING with Python..
Life of Brian is my all-time favourite movie. Everything about it is just perfect
you have the arthur black knight fight scene from monty pythons the holy grail
Best thing they did imo. You ought to watch the whole film it's really funny.
I plan to, so many people rave about it! 😊
Good lord your voice audio is freak’n fantastic!! Totally random clicked on your video, first time seeing you and I never knew my iPad could sound so good, I literally looked around the room to make sure I hadn’t accidentally connected to my TV speakers.
Thank you, it’s much appreciated! 😊 👍🏻
Hope you’re well!
" nobody do anything till l blow this whistle" "nobody do anything till l sound the alarm" Could be from the same scene.... brilliant!!!!!!
I love Amanda, she totally gets British humour
Yes she is OK. Like her
Amanda has been here long enough, probably feels more English than American now
And now for something completely different.
The Holy Hand Grenade.
Pretty sure that's the way most of us in the UK see the US Bible Belt.
Hey, you guys started it!
With love from Alabama 🇺🇸
@@ptperry9013 👍from the UK
Nope
@@acavell6184 Oh Yes we do! McIntyre
Quick bit of trivia.
Life of Brian was only made because George Harrison (from The Beatles) agreed to fund it, because he loved Python, loved Holy Grail and was good friends with Eric Idle.
Not 100% sure, but I think it was George that suggested they whistle in "Always look on the bright side of life".
Life of Brian was Brilliant. We even played "Always look on the bright side of life" at my dads funeral, as per his request
Of course he's the messiah... and I should know, I've followed a few !
He's not the Messiah, he's a Very Naughty boy!!!
Try the, it's only a flesh wound, from the holy grail 😅🤣😂
Dennis the anarcho-syndicalist versus king Arthur is a classic.
Did you see him repressing me?
Love your reactions to Monty Python, Amanda 😂
The funniest scene in LoB is the 1st 94 minites after the opening credits.... basically every second of the film is comedy gold!
Monty Python: The Killer Joke by Ernest Scribbler.
yes please!!!!
Oh yes! My favorite!
Monty Python's Flying Circus: Parrot Sketch. Have fun.
Hey Amanda. Thanks for another fun vid - each time watching this is like the first time for me as I always spot some tiny detail I didn't before. I hope you take the time to watch the whole movie. Give The Parrot Sketch a try!
I definitely plan on watching the whole movie !
@@LADYRAEUK you definitely need to check out the Dead Parrot sketch, if you haven't already.
Favourite scene is the whole bit that leads one guy to call Brian a lucky bastard.
my fave is in monty python and the holy grail, when they are all battling ( when suddenly all the london cops appear in multiple cop cars, saying you're all nicked, offensive weapons)
"Two pointy ones and a packet of gravel"
