Mighty smooth picking friend, and nice hearing you mention Buddy Merrill and Lawrence Welk. France Gall did a cute little number back in the 60's called "Bacci, Bacci, Bacci". You might enjoy hearing it.

Damian, thank you so much for your positivity and love of music. In a world where people are divided and angered over countless things you are a true inspiration. You are an absolutely phenomenal player and instructor. I love how you have an appreciation for 50s and rockabilly players along with a passion for punk rock and hardcore. Keep rocking, love your channel!
nice Damian, showing where the lick falls in the progression and over what chord is an excellent way to teach this. Really helps to understand how to use the lick in other situations. Thanks so much, love it keep up the Good work.
Great video!! I'm surprised I haven't seen Damien before this! Well Sir, count this old SOB as one of your new subscribers. Very Impressed with the Gretsch you were playing!
THank you! At first , i thought you were just going to play and run off but providing the Tabulation shows how kind you are!. That's a real cool ax Btw!👍
Damian, your lessons are great. You are a class act. Your style, words of inspiration, and of course your musical talent are a real inspiration and have helped me immeasurably in all aspects of my playing and attitude towards playing. Thanks!
I worked in music retail for years and was lucky to play many, many guitars that I could not afford. But somehow I never got a chance to play a White Falcon. It looks and sounds amazing. Your playing as well. Great channel.
@@Damianblf Love that you appreciate them along with rockabilly. Saw New Order at a club in San Francisco on their first US tour a year or so after Ian Curtis's death. They were terrific. They seemed surprised that the club was packed and at how much everyone liked them but we followed everything new coming out of GB & Ireland and many of the musicians I knew were in the audience (I moonlighted as a roadie back then). Random thought - for a good time check out the Joy Division inspired song Wanli by the Korean band Hyukoh.
Man I wish you wouldnt have told me about Buddys Boogie....haha...that was a great cip from lW show....I used to watch LW as a kid hoping I would see either Buddy or Neil play or both...great lesson as always Damian, and now I have go to go and try to transcibe Buddys Boogie...thanks !!
Another good lick to practice till it's forever in your repoitore,,great teaching style, I had some help on spelling repository, still not sure if it's correct. Lol
I love you man! Your tutorials have been a great help to my playing, sure. But it's the trappings of your presentation that leaves me grinning. Like, you're demonstrating rockabilly & jump blues licks on one level, but then you've got all this ephemera from the bands I worshipped in the '80s (all aggro and doom.). But to top it all off you speak to the camera like Fred Rogers and I'm 3 years old again-- won't you be my neighbor? Too much!!!
Damian, i need your help / advice please. I saved up enough to get me a Rumble Seat or the Mystery Brain pedal. They are both pricey so i have to make a decision. Wich one you love more? Or none of them? Thanks in advance. Stay safe and greetings from Bavaria Germany 🇩🇪
Here is the video of Buddy Merrill playing “Buddy’s Boogie” on The Lawrence Welk Show. (Buddy joined the show in 1955 but I’m not sure what year this specific performance was.) ua-cam.com/video/dJXjV6UY9lc/v-deo.html
Lawrence Welk, huh? If you want to see [and hear[ something pretty surreal, watch the Lawrence Welk version of One Toke Over The Line. It's surprisingly not awful.
What is incomplete? The lesson is on learning 1 specific lick and I taught the lick with tablature and showed how it fits into a 12 bar blues solo a solo and how it it can be played in different keys.
As Lawrence Welk used to tell Buddy: Wunnaful, wunnaful--! That is champagne music that ROCKS!! Thanks, Damian!! 🪗🍾🎊😁
Thank you Mark :)
How do you only have 80k subs? You're a gift.
Thank you Jerry. Keep on rockin' my friend. :)
