I can only guess there were no conservatives on that flight to warrant extra surveillance from the air marshals service. DHS complained that there were too many flying to keep tabs on them all with their limited number of Marshals. The seat belts come off to be used as restraints. I guess someone let their inner child out to play with duct tape.
They make it sound like it was in the middle of the flight, I read elsewhere that the plane was already on final approach at around 450 feet above the ground. So it still would have opened. It won't open when you're going 600 miles per hour with 25,000 pounds of pressure.
Ok, yes keep the alcohol. It’s not alcohol that makes people crazy ok! Those people are already crazy to begin with. They act that way sober. Don’t ruin things for the rest of us.
no joke when they ask if you wanna be reassigned to a NON-EXIT -DOOR row at the beginning of the flight, eh? does that row of seats come with tiny rolls of duct tape now, too?
Wrong. The guy is out of control and not stopping. I understand you and your likes are too frightened to help. He was hurting people. Sit tight, while men got this.
@@pep590 Of course the guy needed to be restrained even if there wasn’t any risk that he could open the door. But the risk depends on altitude. On or near the ground he could have opened it. But at cruising altitude he would have to overcome 12 tons of force.
I'm old. 50 years ago I was on an evening commuter flight - smoking everywhere, the men getting plastered and grabbing the flight attendants. I started to feel unsafe as a young woman. We had to land elsewhere due to fog and there was no way I was getting on a bus with those guys, they were heading to the bar to kill time. I'll never fly again, it is insanity.
So strange! I travel constantly and have never seen crazy behavior like this. Have seen some run of the mill drunks and nervous fliers. But never this kind of wild nonsense
You would have to be as strong as Superman. At cruising altitude the pressure difference is so great that it would take about 24,000 pounds of force to open the door, which is impossible for a person to do. This is the weight of six cars or 20 polar bears.
Once those doors are armed and you're in cruising altitude, no man or woman can physically open it because of cabin pressure. There is only one man that can open it during flight and that's Superman.
Air travel is too dangerous these days. So many psychos! Airlines should require mental and psychological tests for all passengers before they are allowed to buy a ticket or given a boarding pass! There should be a certification or clearance system!
airport security officials suk, alcohol everywhere you look, too expensive, practically gotta strip off your clothes to get through security, couldn't even carry my water bottle, cramped seating, recycle air breathers until we take off....... lost luggage, rude passengers, bumped flights, no compensation, no accountability....😂sorry triggered.

Some people say that those 3 men fought him off hard and someone had the insight to bring duct tape in their carry on. Some say that. Oh wait! This news video just said it!
lol no one said the wind stopped the door because the wind has nothing to do with it. the door opens inward first not outward so the pressure inside the cabin stopped the door from opening. and that duck tape was probably the ones already on the plane and not ones someone brought. yes airline carry duck tape for this very reason
can cabin doors be opened mid flight? it seems very unlikely that any attempt to open a door whilst aloft would meet with success. on the plus side, any kid kicking the back of your seat, or crying, or otherwise being 'unruly' now gets auto-duct-taped.
No it’s impossible. You would have to be as strong as Superman. The doors are being pushed in place with thousands of pounds of air pressure. You could open them on the ground or near the ground though, where the inside and outside air pressure is the same.
News should be sued for compromising an Air Marshals identity, have you no values at all. Good grief, they risk lives as it is, and you go and out him.
You posted this as if the report somehow blew his cover while infiltrating a crime syndicate for the last six years. He's a Federal Air Marshal... It's not THAT deep.🙄
Maybe start keeping a much closer eye on your passengers. What is scary is someone who would unpredictability freak out without warning while the plane is in flight.
You just answered your own question by saying ' unpredictably". Not the airlines fault. Safety is eveyone's job. He didn't have a gun. If he had had one, now that would have been on the airline.
Well I'm sure people will be less angry and inflammatory once Trump takes office, all will be well, food will be half price, freeways will be empty because 1/3 of the country will be shipped elsewhere.

make sure it’s packed in the carry-on and not the checked bag 😁
Or zip ties
Very sad but true

Flying use to be fun. Now it feels like a crappy cross-country bus ride.
Thats if you're flying Spirit or Southwest. Those airlines are called the Greyhound Bus of the skies.
Not in a true first class

Same. Those days are gone.
It was a privilege to fly 😢 still is but the majority take flying for granted.
One charge of attempted murder for every single passenger and crew members

no Lord, no mental health
It's something in the air.

Untreated mental health due to a broken system that will now stay broken.

What is it with people flipping out and trying to open the door while in flight?
So the Air Marshal didn’t even have handcuffs or zip ties just duct tape?
How many rolls of duct tape am I allowed to bring on a flight anyway? 🤷🏽♂️🤔
I thought the same but looked it up and saw that less than 5% of domestic flights have an air marshal not every flight like many of us thought

So f-ing what ...
Lm**o.
These people should be charged and should be permanently banned from every US airline
I’ve been waiting for another duct taping 😂
Heroism in action by these citizens!
Kudos to the passengers for stepping up. People are sick of these idiots causing problems. Enough is enough.
No more alcohol on planes, and no more at airports. Why do we all have to suffer, so alcoholics can have what they want?
Ok, yes keep the alcohol. It’s not alcohol that makes people crazy ok! Those people are already crazy to begin with. They act that way sober. Don’t ruin things for the rest of us.
Because it makes the airlines money and money is all they care about anymore.
Bring back prohibition... It's not only happening on the plains it's happening on the roads in the cars killing people. Abolish alcohol.
@@philoctetes_wordsworth These people are not alcoholics. They are mentally deranged. Alcohol has nothing to do with it.
Most are drinking long before their flights.
I’m just curious where do they always seem to get the duct tape from 😂
It’s handy for all sorts of stuff, I’m sure they always keep some around.
The ducts
I'm thinking maybe the crew had it but asked the passengers to do the taping so the airline wouldn't get sued?
So do the airlines carry duct tape on every plane?
Yes they do actually
I know Spirit does. They use it to help patch the plane.
Its part of their training. Chapter 4: "Dealing with unruly passengers".
I stopped traveling in 2019 just when the world went mad, sadly she hasn't recovered.😮
Horrible thing to go through for all the other passengers but it’s an excellent commercial for duct tape
Nuts like planes and subways.
Door wouldn’t have opened if they were in flight at cruising altitude

on airbus correct, on boeing maybe

Once the airplane is pressurized at altitude a properly installed airline door is impossible to open.
Once those doors are armed and you're in cruising altitude, no man or woman can physically open it because of cabin pressure.

he could not have got the door open anyway pressure is to great
Seriously who carries Duct Tape on a flight
They need to stop selling flights for $100 below to avoid all these crackheads jumping on planes causing hell
So do you think only the poor people are crazy honey no people with money are worse
They don’t? I’ve never seen an international flight below $100.
So someone is paying for the flight to do this
How come there's so many duck tape on airplanes
Nice job calling out and posting a pic of the Air Marshal!! Kinda defeats the point of his job now! LOL!
Half of these on flight incidents are alcohol related, breathalyzers must be a pre boarding random check point tool.
Once it happens once expect the domino effect afterwards😮
Is there just duct tape and zip ties on planes or are people flying with these things? Should I be packing these things? lol
Where are people getting this duct tape from? Because that’s something people always bring with them on flights right?
They’re using the tape holding the plane together
You can't duct tape passengers
Airline staff cannot, but apparently fellow passengers can lol. Noted.
