Yeah... Fun fact, if you have a pirated version of Subnautica and you install Nitrox (Subnautica Multiplayer Mod), the nitrox app will start flashing in different colors and playing the song "You are a pirate!". And if you close the app the audio is still there, it stops only if you turn it off through Task Manager. You can try it yourself!

Mad respect for bringing more publicity to modding for subnautica instead of going with the usual youtuber clickbait formula that youtubers start to drift to with subnautica videos. Ever since you started making videos on mods I've noticed more and more people use mods and I don't think that's a coincidence. We need more people like you on this platform

Great video, you also answer everyone's questions here which helped me get my map mod to work. I had a lot of issues with Vortex so I ended up not using it. But everything works well now. Thank you for all you do!

Where do I put the files into without vortex?
@@Sunny-jw6vpif you haven’t already figured out, without Vortex you put the qmod file into the subnautica folder, if ur using steam the file is “Steamapps-common-subnautica”

I downloaded the terraforming tool, and the ultra propulsion cannon.
Lets say that the hatch to the outside was nothing. Just a wall that just isnt there. Just walk outside. I love those mods.
Oh I love breaking the game with mods as well :D

Dude putting the date in the title is the best! So many times I'll be reading a whole walkthrough of instructions on something, or watch a whole video, that is way longer than it needed to be, only to find out it's out of date and completely obsolete. I've been trying to get VR enhancements to work.
I really don't want to have to use vortex but I tried putting the folder into the Subnautica folder and it didn't change anything. So I guess I will have to.

Hey there, I've done some testing with the QMod versions and figured that for some reason the mod section only loads in the game with the 4.3.0 version while with the 4.4.3 version doesnt load anything. Mods dont load with the 4.3.0 version thought since its outdated, not sure what to do.
Huh that’s strange but hey, as long as the older version works for you! :)
@@TheLastBacon thats the problem, since only the old one works, mods dont seem to work with it. Like they fail to load

@@superwuzzy6617 Yeah it was since I was using the Xbox app version of the game it requires a different version of QMod since I believe the Xbox version isn't properly up to date, not sure about the facts behind it. (Sorry for late reply btw)

Hey bacon :P I was wondering, how do you add a mod from a external webpage (not nexus mods) into the vortex file. For example i downloaded the FCS subnautica mod, but i got no idea where to put it. Any suggestions?
You can just download it as a .rar/.zip and then in Vortex, use the open button and just select the file you're looking for :) Vortex will sort everything else by itself.

Soo first off bacon you are my favorite subnatica UA-camr, relaxing voice and easy to watch videos… so my question is when or can we get return of the ancients mod or is it going to be a secret dlc :D cause I really wanna boost my subnatica experience

I got the mod manager working and everything installed on vortex, but none of my mods are showing up in the mod tab on the pause menu except for qmods and smlhelper, I know at least some are active, for example: the water level is like -100 meters (the water level mod) but nothing is showing up in the mod tab. Some of the other mods I have installed seem to not be working also but I don't know if that is due to none of the mods showing up. Is there any way to get them to show up properly? I'm on the legacy branch also.
Make sure the mods you got are the older versions that work with the legacy branch since many have already been updated for 2.0 :) And yeah some of the older mods won't show up in the mod tab even though they might be working.

I installed Tobey‘s Bepinex pack and enabled it on vortex, but the mods tab does not pop up in subnautica.
Another thing is that the "require elevation" message did not pop up for me. Is that normal?
You could try installing Bep manually as well - just extract the files into your Subnautica directory - then if you get the black box popping up when you launch the game you know it's working :)

Does anyone know where to install the QMM manually? Because when I open Vortex and click 'Get QMM' the Vortex option to download doesn't exist, I can only install manually and I've no idea where to install QMM
You can probably download it wherever, and then use the “install from file” button in Vortex :)

This seems much better than the workshop (I know subnautica doesn’t have access to the workshop) because most workshop mods are extremely small and are often minor changes, like turning Coach from L4D2 into Freddy fazbear. But now I can get some huge mods for one of my favorite games. Thanks Bacon!

Hi Bacon, I've tried this twice now and each time I have got to the part where you elevate the QMOD install, the game will not open anymore. Do you have any idea why this might be?
Hmm not sure what launcher you're using - but make sure to verify the integrity of the game's files in case Qmod messed something up :)
So, I made everything as you said in the vídeo but when I try to log in the game the De-expediction and other mods just dont load and when I join the load no mod is on, it is just vanilla subnautica, someone know how to fix this?
Yeah if you're running on the latest version of the game, you need to use BepInEx instead of Qmod :)

No this vid is a bit outdated unfortunately :) You now need to BepInEx with the latest Sub version instead of qmod.

When I tried to open the game from vortex it said Pending Deployment and I clicked deploy it did nothing so I skipped and the mods did not work
Yeah the deployment needs to happen :) You can just try to deploy again!

When i try to open the game after elevating Qmod i get a popup saying "Pending Deployment"
I can skip and deploy but both wont work. The game opens but theres no Qmod an i also get a message saying that deploying failed.

i finally fixed it by switching the deployment methods to "Hardlink Deployment" in the settings at the Mods tab

For some reason I get a notification that tells me to disable QMM or switch to legacy branch and only one out of three mods I installed work so far. The map mod works flawlessly, but I installed a customized storage mod and extra quick slot mod and neither of them show up. Why does this happen and is there a way to fix this?
Yeah it’s because of the 2.0 update :) You need to switch to BepInEx instead of Qmod.
06:30 shows the "Mod" icon in your video but not for mine, i did everything correct by far copied everything you did but still doesn't show?
i have the mods i want, downloaded but the icon "Mod" in the Subnautica Options isnt showing
It worked with subnautica but not BZ when i activate Qmod and then launch the game it just freezes at that warning

Did you get the new update for BZ? Because it currently breaks Qmod :) Just downgrade back.
