Sad story, Monty. Life can be a hard journey. People can make all kinds of mistakes along the way. But that doesn't necessarily make them bad. Kudos to you for giving him a shot and standing by him.

@crewfamilyphilippines I have witnessed 1st hand the debilitating effects schizophrenia has on sufferers and the stigma they face. I hope to be able to meet you someday Monty. You are a solid guy. Dave from Cincinnati.
SSSSSooooo you do not believe in equality? Tolerance? Diversity??? DO you believe that white, christian males should rule over all others? You talking about people fighting for equal rights as if you would have lynched Dr Martin Luther King Jr if it were up to you... Do you know how many black and brown people are being done far worse than him by the justice system? Funny that when a black person complains about the justice system, you demons tell us to "stop crying, criminal"... But when its one of yall.... "ooooohhhhh the justice system is so unfair and corrupt". Guess Trump has taught yall well. Im glad he cannot come here... one less colonizer here pretending to be human. But anyway... I want to know how you answer my first three questions... WS burned down entire cities in the name of supremacy... Bet you would love to be able to do that now huh?
What does civil protest have to do with Nick’s condition. And how has their protest impacted his life or denied him any opportunity. Based on the story, Nick had support of several people and made choices at an early age that affected his entire life. Maybe the fault lies with his irresponsible, alcoholic parents who abandoned him at a critical time and age while providing zero resource or support after he turned 18. No Black or Brown people were mentioned anywhere in the narrative. So maybe shelve your racist tendencies for a moment to just feel compassion and empathy for a human with a good heart but bad luck. Hope he gets out and is able to realize a portion of his dream before he goes toes up. Good luck 🍀 Nick! From a concerned Black person.
@@elmoelbow TheInvisibleAmericanMan is just a Trumpanzie that needs to point to black people at any opportunity he can find. He wants to reach back to a peaceful protest, but I guess thats because those that participated in the terrorist attack on our capital are being rightfully punished (even if the punishments are not strong enough)... Well all except for the leader of the attack.. Thats his hero, and since Trump hates black people... he hates black people too.. Most likely he has never had a black person do anything wrong to him, but I bet he has has several white ones do him wrong... Sad that he hates black people so much, but only does so because he has been taught to.
Very interesting tale, thanks for sharing your experience. I'm 38 living in Texas and I make a lot of money but I'm in a lot of debt, trying to work hard and clear it all so I can actually start saving up money so I can early retire there in PH, I've known for sure I want to retire there by the age of 50 years ago. Your story reminds me why I need to make sure I do what I need to do and not try to get everything last minute as that can just be such a bad experience as you've had i'm sure. Take care and god bless.

Very good story Monty. I have done the same as you in the past with a good friend. Only thing is, you cannot change a person no matter what you do. Wow. You and Nick have been through a lot. Nick could not have asked for a better friend than you. You stuck in there with Nick through thick and thin. I see you loved Nick like a son. You hang in there. You're a great person. I hope Nike gets his self together. From what you say about Nick, Nick is a great person, too. He just has some problems. Good luck, Nick. Hang in there.
Buy a little something for yourself Monty. So sorry about Nick, sounds like he's very talented. Hope prison gets him the help he needs. May be the best thing for him. He's still young.
Thanks for sharing your story, I hope that Nick would have enough time to think through how he can better his life. I believe he misses and appreciate you!
Thank you very much for watching. Hopefully he can get some help while he’s incarcerated. He needs to make the decision that he wants help and wants to change.
I had a friend from high school who gave me a similar story. I believe he was bi-polar. When he was not depressed he could get great jobs and live right. But suddenly he would go into depression and destroy his life and the lives of everyone around him. In one of his good times, he married the perfect girl. I was tempted to warn her but didn't. They had a son and named him after me. He ended up addicted to heroine and lost wife and son. On my trips from the Philippines to the USA, I would try to contact him, but he was either in rehab or living on the streets. Finally, about 10 years ago, his father called me here in the Philippines to tell me he committed suicide. I was sad, but I understood. He was never going to get his life back together was obvious. He just couldn't face living his life anymore. I was sad and think about him often, but it was the first time I realized that, for some people, suicide makes sense. It was his only way out of his hell.
I understand all to well Edwin. I hope that he doesn’t do that. I picture his mind a living hell. He suffers from depression, anxiety, racing thoughts that keep him from sleeping well and schizophrenia and he’s bipolar so that affects him as well
My wife is Chinese and I am Caucasian American male. Soon we celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Asian women are the best, except the ones you would be lucky not to marry. 😂 All races of women have their good and not so good. Nick. Well, he's young and a man so he still will have possibilities. One huge thing is we all have to get right with the Lord. Even a wonderful woman cannot competely straighten us out. Life is rough, but keep a stoic, prayful daily life. Much better to stay calm than angry. Keep it cerebral. And stay busy. Nick gets out, just day by day build things up. But, again, keep up the prayer life.
My partner and I had two properties, a town lot (hers) and a farm lot (mine). Her family soon moved into her yard and built a kubo then a lean-to dirty kitchen out back. I not only leased my farm off my partner but I also had a sole occupancy agreement drawn up so her family couldn't pressure her to let them build on the farm.

It’s a sad story, and it reminds me of my brother. We all had a very bad childhood, but my sister and I went one way, and our brother went the other way. He’s had a life of extreme alcoholism, drugs and arrests. Always a good heart, but always an F up. I’ve tried so many times over the years to help him, but he’s now 60, and I don’t think he’s going to change his stripes now. It’s sad, but he’s a grown man and has to help himself too.
I’m sorry to hear that you guys had a bad childhood. I agree you can only do so much. They have to want to change or something tragic to wake them up otherwise you’re wasting your time. Thank you so much for watching 😊

Thanks for sharing. I can relate to your situation. I was a contractor and had someone like that, brilliant worker but the drugs had a massive hold on him. We can only do what we can do. Interesting story. Thanks for sharing. I have a friend, he is in his late 60's. He wants to come to the Philippines. But he will never be able to because he keeps sending money to multiple filipinas , Therefore he can't save any money.
Monty, It sounds like Nick had alcohol fetal syndrome. Look up alcohol fetal syndrome face and see if you recognise the markers. He never had a chance in life other than the chance you gave him. Without you there, he had no guidance. Monty, why wasn't a contract drawn when you transferred your fencing business over to the other party? You still have some litigation you could do.
@@crewfamilyphilippines Monty, You might want to contact a business broker. Do you have a list of inventory & tools? Comps of other fencing companies? A list of customers that were happy with your work? I would think Florida would have a big need to repair/replace fencing because of the weather and shifting land.
I had a business for 10 yrs in construction like yourself. I helped a guy like you did. A similar thing happened to me. My helper was very sincere, he ended up costing me big big problems and a lot of $. I ended up getting out of bus because of the mess he brought my way. Work so hard and another person causes so many problems.
And people ask me why I'm 33, single, no kids, and not getting married..... I have a decent job, decent money, own my own house, plenty of money in the bank, have ladies over a couple times a month, and plan on taking a long trip to south east asia in the next year... why would I get married?
You’re probably better off single and keep saving money. I love my children dearly and couldn’t imagine my life without them. I could however imagine my life as being single until now.
Hi Monty. Very sad story and I hope he can get himself straightened out and have another chance at life. I have 2 friends that were alcoholics. One with the help of his girlfriend who he got married too got him sober and the other had to go through a lot of hard life lessons to get sober. He ended up losing his license 3 times for DUI. He also got married to a good woman that helped him get his life straightened out and they have 3 adopted children now. So it can be done just have to work hard to get life back in order
I talk to him every Sunday he calls me from jail. He’s always good while he’s in jail because they give him medication for his schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but when he gets out of jail, he gets off of medication and refuses to take it.
I can u destiny what your saying My .middle daughter Jennifer was on a self destruction and ended up dieing from that stuff called fintinal. I thought that was gunna send me into a Deep depression, and make me fall away from GOD, But it only made me focus on Ho. Even more.. it's really good of you for being a great friend to this young man. More so when he has no one else..😇🙏👍👍👍👍👍 GOD Bless and keep you and yours!
It's kind of ironic how the self proclaimed land of freedom is so unforgiving. I can't understand the cultural fascination from the rest of the world, really.
I have personal experience of a good person doing bad things due to alcohol and it makes you realise that just being a good judge of character is not always enough. Sometimes you judge people on their character when sober but they might be quite different when drunk.
Sad story and tragic. You seemed to be like a father and mentor to that guy and the one good positive influence that he ever had. He'll not do the full 15 years and will probably parole in about 6-7, but even so, he'll be under the watch of his PO and won't be able to travel far (let alone out of the country). Financially wise, your right, he most definitely won't have the funds to survive there in the Philippines and as a foreigner that's the last place to be if your broke. I'm on the cusp of retirement right now and my wife and I have a house in Tarlac, so we're trying to figure out if we want to stay there full time or go back and forth to Hawaii.
Thank you Mr. Harley Davidson Rider. I have good days and bad days but I try to make videos on my good days brother. Thank you very much for watching and commenting 😊
Nick's story is a very sad one indeed. Maybe there is stiil a glimmer of hope for Nick His time in jail may offer an opportunity for him to redeem himself. With proper counseling and the desire to better himself he can get himself a GED for starters. From there he can learn a trade. I believe it's even possible for him to get timeoff for good behavior. It's all up to Nick to pick himself up by the bootstraps and make a better person of himself. I wish him the best. Hope you can find someway to keep in touch with Nick, Monty. I believe he looks up to you as his mentor. Your encouragement and support can certainly inspire him to be all he can be. I sincerely hope things become better for you and😢 your family as time passes by, Monty I couldn't help but notice the couch you were setting on while doing your video. It appears to have nice, high back and very comfortable to sit on. How long is it? Are you satisfied with it? If you are, where did you get from? We are doing okay I hope that you are too sir
This October I will be 60. I kind of slowed down in my life. I just recently had a new heart valve put in. So now I feel like I'm in my prime. I'm fixing to get down and party I'm coming to the Philippines
Unfortunately, he dug his own grave. Made very bad decisions. Had an opportunity to salvage his life after some bad decisions but ended up back in prison. His mentality and wiring would have always lead him down a troubled path.
I have to agree with you. Unless he wants to change nothing will change. I’m not sure with his depression, anxiety schizophrenia etc that he’s capable of changing
Yes I talk about that a lot. We all have a emptiness inside of us. Some people try to fill it with alcohol, drugs, other people and all types of bad things. Until you fill it with God you don’t feel complete. Thank you so much for watching Gerald 😊
Really heartbreaking. Based on your story, I hope someone can help Nick with his probation but better yet, on his case. Because, unless the stabbing happened first that the guy had to fight back and stop the attack by detaining Nick with physical force, if not, then the guy should know that he would be the one facing charges for illegal detention of Nick, and then possibly jail time.
I agree Chris no the old guy held him back and hit him with a chair. The whole house is on 24/7 video Nick got arrested the next day the detective showed up. Conveniently everything was a erased. I’m not saying Nick is a Saint but I think he was railroaded

Thank you for watching Brother. You are doing the right thing. I’m broke as a joke but I’m completely out of debt and I sent money to my wife when I was working to build our house here so we don’t have to pay rent. God bless you and I hope that you’re able to retire early and enjoy life 😊🙏🏻
Very good story Monty. I have done the same as you in the past with a good friend. Only thing is, you cannot change a person no matter what you do. We have a good intentions, but until the other person wants to change, there is nothing anyone can do. Keep you head up and move on, your family will appreciate you in the long haul.
Steve
Hi Steve thank you very much for watching. I agree with you people need to want to change. I’m not making excuses for him. He has depression, anxiety, racing thoughts that keep him from sleeping well and schizophrenia which makes everything a challenge. We shall see what happens
Tough story! Hard to see family and/or friends go through that. All decisions have consequences, some good and some not and many of us have to learn things the hard way. Keep them in prayer!

Thank you very much Thomas. I will share your well wishes with Nick 💛
Buy a little something for yourself Monty. So sorry about Nick, sounds like he's very talented. Hope prison gets him the help he needs. May be the best thing for him. He's still young.
Yes I hope so Sandra. Thank you for the $ 😊💛
Thanks for sharing your story, I hope that Nick would have enough time to think through how he can better his life. I believe he misses and appreciate you!

That was very smart on your part. Thank you very much for watching and your comment 😊
Such a sad story on both your parts. You are a good man. God bless.
Yes it is He suffers from depression, anxiety, racing thoughts that keep him from sleeping well and schizophrenia so that affects him as well. God bless you too Hurley 😊💛🙏🏻
Too bad he couldn’t explain to the court that he was not able to read the paperwork. He didn’t intend to screw up. This was an inspiring story, you are wise and I enjoy your stories!!
He should have explained it that day while he was in the probation office. Things would have been fine.

So many people fall into this same situation daily, so I'm hoping that some of them will see your video and avoid the same outcome.
I m from central Florida and know that area where you lived.
Yeah I hope that some of the younger guys watch and prepare for retirement and do the right stuff and not make the mistakes I made. I lived in Winter Park when I was married but I actually liked Lee Road
Another simple but good video. Look forward to meeting you. Have some things in common and some differences too, but think it will be interesting. like your respect for everyone.

I did have a contact with them. I have control of it now but without being there it has been difficult to try to sell it now
I will look that up but yeah he had a very bad addiction to it along with weed
@@crewfamilyphilippines Monty, You might want to contact a business broker. Do you have a list of inventory & tools? Comps of other fencing companies? You’re probably better off single and keep saving money. I love my children dearly and couldn’t imagine my life without them. I could however imagine my life as being single until now.
Cette histoire est très triste, vous avez fait beaucoup pour lui 😢
this story is very sad, you have done a lot for him
Yes I did but it was a struggle. Hopefully he can get some help while he’s incarcerated 😢
Thank you for watching and commenting as always brother. He suffers from depression, anxiety, racing thoughts and schizophrenia which also affects him
Mr Crew. Have you been able to talk to the young man. And do you feel this maybe the time for him to reset his life??

I talk to him every Sunday he calls me from jail. He’s always good while he’s in jail because they give him medication for his schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but when he gets out of jail, he gets off of medication and refuses to take it.

I have personal experience of a good person doing bad things due to alcohol and it makes you realise that just being a good judge of character is not always enough. Sometimes you judge people on their character when sober but they might be quite different when drunk.

Great video 38 my wife is 35 my plan is to retire there
That’s a very good plan. I wish that I would have started much younger with a plan for retiring here.
