I need to rewatch this whole series, moments like this are so funny. I love how he's not even being hostile but they're so scared of him 😂 and how the guards help get her alone so their boss can be alone with just her haha
His known for being fierce,ruthless,cold and domineering and his house reflects that plus the fact that he's unofficially adopted son of the emperor ,that's why even Shaoshang's seasoned general father is somewhat afraid of LBY(they still don't know the wholesomeness of LBY) . Even though the real LBY is more than that, his reputation already got to most people that they couldn't believe the general is capable of showing love and affection too and Shaoshang's one of them .She experienced first hand how the general protected her many times and showed his interest and affection to her but she still so slow and couldn't see how special she is to him more than she thought (Well she's still young so I've given her a pass on this one). As the story progresses she's also maturing and that's a good point.
