Love this song popular when I was 11. American proud to have been raised on Canadian border. I love Canada and this beautiful friendly country produces greatest rock on planet. Chilliwack, Trooper, Harlequin, Red Rider, Jerry Doucette, Rush, Toronto, Prism, Sweetheart, Head Pins, Burton Cummings, Straight lines, Triumph. Greatful to my parents for raising me in Northeastern Montana. Can't imagine not knowing Canadian rock just unfathomable
Or Helix. Helix was a wicked concert, fuck, I sold a lot of dope at that concert. I mean, they had good lyrics, like give me an R,O,C,K, and then the crowd yells "rock" really loud, now that's a fuckin' concert.
Charlotte - from a humble Canadian and proud of it, you forgot 1 little known band - Pat Travers - Rock N' Roll Susie. Also need to include some great American bands - Boston- Hitchin a ride - Aerosmith, everything, and many many more - between the 2 great nations, the best rock and roll in the world.
RIP Canada's most under-rated musician, a true guitar god. Thank you for such epic music of my teenage years, we rocked to your tunes forever and a day. We will miss you. Safe journey. 😥 ..and FU cancer..😡
Jerry really had a great song right here. Great guitar works, some of the best for 1977. This song has so much positive energy , lifts one up certainly. Great stuff Jerry. Circa 1977 -80 while living in Vancouver Jerry would show up at Saturday jams sessions at the "American" . man, those were the days. Best times of my life. mos60
I had no idea he was gone. I first heard this song on an album oriented rock station in Appleton Wisconsin. Well, he's now in Rock and roll heaven with Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison and others
He will be missed. One of my favorite songs. His guitar playing is like none other. Just like Gary Moore guitarer from Thin Lizzy to BRANCH OUT and did solo I albums like "Still got the blues for you," . Who passed as well. R. I p. Gary I last and only time I seen Jerry Doucette was at the Variety Club Telethon. Every year they had good hands and we could stay out all night long. Not was awesome that year because it was LOVERBOY, HEADPINS AND JERRY DOUCETTE...WOW.! FREE!! LOL. He passed last week at the age of 70yrs old. My apologizes for the late tribute to this wonderful artist. My most heart felt condolences to Jerry's family and long live his music until then R.I.P. Until we meet again
One of the best songs of the 70s, if not ever. The instills what music is about, especially the rock of that era. Don't hold back, give it all you got, and let the music move your spirit. Just let it play, play some rock and roll!
I use to play, momma let them play as a cover band back in the early 80s . Twin lead guitars. Different octaves That was awesome. Great times, good memories. Everyone loved the music. Rocking, Robin.
Proud to be Canadian ... Prince George Fairgrounds 1978 .. Doucette played free Concert .. I sat in bleachers .. Jerry sang this tune as I watched and waited for Big Sis to find Me ❤ 🎤🎸🎶
I love the story that guy told about going over to Jerry's house because he was dating his daughter in high school, and his Juno award was on the floor holding the basement door open, true rock'n'roll fashion
LOL, love that as well, not one bit pretentious , not like todays musicians, they think there Gods gift to everything, Jerry seemed like a real humble guy,
We saw Jerry do this in a full arena a few months after this album broke and he absolutely killed it. He blew the roof off the place. His band was tight and on fire. His Les Paul sounded incredible. It was every ounce as good as it is here. The energy was amazing.
JERRY sure ROCKED our Campus in the 1980's! INCREDIBLE Live Show and GIFTED Songwriter and Musician. Thank You JERRY for the Music and Memories.... You're SURELY MISSED!!! R.I.P.
Amazing song!!! 🎶💃🌞🐦🙌🎆⌛ Popular back in my day!! Incredible, treasured memories with true, forever friends, no matter the distance or time passed. This song just played via little Tubac station! Wow!! David Ipp! 🙏 ❤ 🎶 🌕 🌑 🌠⭐ 🌌❤🙌💃💃 Forever Missed.
Beauty Offering ..Have come back countless times to top up the tank(so to speak)..By chance ,would you have "Down The Road" lying around someplace??Cheers
For years I never even knew who sang this. Because it's like, you know it sounds familiar but cant point a finger at it. Like, is this Huey Lewis? B.T.O. with not Randy singing? Doug & The Slugs? Chilliwack? It must've been when this album finally got reissued on CD when I finally knew who this was. Heard this song lots on the radio growing up. But youb think they'd tell ya who is it.
One of the greatest anthems of the seventies but unfortunately for Doucette he was Canadian and Americans didn't like that ....end of story. (Rush was the exception)
not all Americans, I grew up listening to CHOM out of Montreal and still to this day talk to as many people as possible about missing out on great Canadian bands
