I have the most amazing attachment to this song from over 37 years ago. An indelible event that has been imprinted in my brain that not even an eternity could erase. When I hear the opening guitar riff- my mind time warps itself to a time when I had just turned 18 and I thought that I ruled the world. I have had my share of life's bumps 'n' bruises many moons long since gone by.., but at least, this song reminds me of the days when I was, just, an innocent king. I had freedom and I moved around -- no one ever got in my way and I never got down! Thanks mom.
Which is amusing, since he had moved to Los Angeles by then. Oh well. Will never forget the 12 Minute Version of this he pulled off at the Toronto EX, when he blew Triumph away as the opener. Only time Triumph was booed in their hometown for not giving "The Deuce" an encore.
