I just had that exact experience right now, 9 years after you did. No idea how I missed this. Somehow didn't have this included in their discography.
Man Death Cab's Plans album was probably my favourite of all time, alongside Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness by Smashing Pumpkins, hard to choose between them.

God I love this sound, it's such a shame it's all but disappeared.
