Wow, how incredibly difficult it must be to play V,Ii, a repetitive sequence so fast with one hand whilst the other floats gently above it. And what a workout for the hand and forearm muscles!
Living for this. Now I clearly know it better I vagly did before. It is so....Thank you. Such a great play.nothing useless, just the necessary rightness. To play the game of not playing a game must be a delightful feeling of fillfullness. brava
This is actually the best complete performance on the internet. You really do everything justice, from pensive mystery to extreme violence to cheeky shenanigans. The piece really suits you and vice versa. Also you look cool up there.
Kedves Leona! Egy kéréssel fordulok Hozzád a most pénteki Kutatók Éjszakája rendezvény kapcsán.
The seventh movement must be such a challenge yet you play it so liltingly, the melodic line just sparkles and radiates your personal touch! These pieces are favorites, thank you for the tremendous performance 🙏💐
Amazing performance! I've always loved the 2nd movement because of Kubrick's movie, and this is the first time I've watched the complete work, while reading about it on wikipedia. A very interesting approach to write music, using pitch classes and limiting the options like that. Thanks for the video!
Sometimes, you end up in a cold room, dark and empty. Closed windows, locked doors. Your eyes have adapted to the small light that seeps into the holes of your curtains. You stand in the middle of the room and you have finally become this "entity" you had seen in a strange and penetrating dream 🗿👌
Great performance played with intelligence, sensitiveness and a sharp attention to the musical sheet! Just a question concerning the last piece; the sustaining pedal is only mentioned at the measure 50 (Omaggio a Girolamo Frescobaldi) and nowhere else or in all the other pieces of musica ricercata the pedal or the absence of pedal is always well indicated. Also Frescobaldi was an organist and a player of harpsichord; so has there is no pedal for sustaining the sound on an harpsichord and as Ligeti write clearly at the beginning of this last piece "sempre piano, sempre legato (sehr gleichmässig/very evenly)" I think that we might not use any pedal until when it is said to use it. That's make the piece very complicated (using the organ technic of the nineteen century in the romantic field; changing the fingers for others on the same chords). That's what I have done to play it without any pedal and it is really a tough work. It is impossible to play measure 47, 48 and 49 without a little help of the sustaining pedal on beat 3 and 4 of 47, beat 1 of 48 and beat 2 to 4 of 49. I might be wrong in my interpretation of no pedal for the major parts of this composition. If someone can bring other arguments and a different opinion I will be very happy to hear it.
Fantastic, thank you very much Leona :)

Nagyon tetszik. Most hallom először. Az előadás autetntikusnak tetszik. Szívesen hallgatnék mást is Ligetitől.
The best performance of this piece on UA-cam!!! Thank you so much :DD
Eine wunderbare Interpretation eines sagenhaft schönen Werks.
Wow... off the planet!
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO. Hug From Brazil. Rio.
Perfect. You and Ligeti are one!
Well, this does the piece justice. The pain, the anger, the loneliness, the unrest. This lady speaks to my soul. Her attire is also excellent

Ligeti is a real troll 😂 He writes a complete pieces only with A notes, and the final note is a D . I like this piece!

I agree, and you can tell this even from the first movement alone. This is an inspired performance.
Bravo Leona!
meravigliosa!!!!!!!!
Mi hai incantato per trenta minuti facendomi compiere un viaggio sensoriale straordinario. Complimenti!

Unbelievable! Astonishing! Bravo!
bellissimo😊
One of my friend let me know of this composer, his masterpiece Lux Aeterna, which leads me to his other music. I am fascinated.
csodálatos! köszönöm;

The makers of grand pianos must be groaning
?
@@yat_ii No need to buy a grand piano. Just bang a drum
I wonder why Ligeti choosed the "A" note...
🖤
Shine.
How did you learn VII?
