I appreciate how easy going I am because I would not have made you redo that whole wall. No one that doesn't have a background in this stuff would never even see it. You do excellent work. Love the videos! I learned a lot when I did my own projects. You guys are life savers.
Plenty of people would have told them to live with it and no house has perfect walls - that's what I hear the most from incompetent people "nothings ever perfect, you'll never notice it" lol, great job keeping your standards top notch and taking accountability fixing initial wall, even if it wasn't your fault sometimes these things happen. I would try to find that insulation installer to fill them in on the fact they need to be cuttin room for the things in the wall, these days it doesnt surprise me that the people doing the work seem to have zero training, or if they did thats just disgustingly lazy to do a bad insulation install because nobody can re-do their incompetence once the wall is complete. It seems like the little things like that don't matter but, all the little details add up to create an entire package and it's the difference between mid quality and high quality. Glad you take pride in your work boss.
Thank you very much and I agree with you 💯 not only did I talk to the insulation installer but the builder and my workers and think that we all had a part on this and then only way to prevent this from happening again is to let everyone know what’s up
He explains everything in the first 30 seconds. Great work. Fun to watch. I would fly you to Missouri, USA for some Drywal finishing if your interested. Building a new house. Thanks for the content. Good craftsmen all make work look easy and enjoyable.
I would always walk the entire house with my drywaller and check studs. Make sure all dead wood was where it needed to be. We would create a pre drywall punch list that we took care of in-house. including checking the ceilings. We had a great system going. Nice work though. Drywall/plaster isnt as easy as everybody thinks. I staple my corner bead too. Works just fine!
Wooooow... if that was the standard everywhere, people who put drywall up would be a lot less careless. The majority would not even care about that gap.... not in my area anyways lol. Respect!
@@unicplasterDon’t ever think that you care too much. It’s that kind of attention to detail that makes you stand out, in a positive manner. Excellent craftsmanship is highly respectable.
Nice work. You said the other piece couldn't be fixed. It was bowed inward? But solution was to remove and replace ensuring it was glued and screwed. What caused it to bow inward before?
I would guess a shity pre sheet job from the chippies.. This guy shows you how its done right.. ua-cam.com/video/92PEtTtpUsw/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ScottBrownCarpentry
Even though the wall seemed to be pushed inwards, it was actually bulging outwards at the bottom and top, which caused the middle to bow inwards. The main issue was a combination of my screws along the joint and the bottom of the plaster, as well as the insulation pushing the middle of the plaster outwards. I hope that makes sense
What happens to power and lights cables, you bring them out after off camera or leave it for sparkies to chase of the plan? Vic maybe different but in QLD boys put a hammer hole and bring the cables out for us, when they hang the sheets. Seems easier to do that then chase them after walls and ceiling are up, safe the call back if cable got moved during plasterboards installation and extra holes had to be made to find it. As a sparky we not responsible and builders don't like to pay for extra work, maybe that's why our guys do it before walls are closed in.
Can you explain the use of glue? I don't plaster for a living, but have done a couple houses. I'm a carpenter, but have not seen anyone in my country use glue behind the plaster. Why is it necessary when already have good fastening into wood?
Where you from? Gonna get my GE license soon, when I build up my business I would like you on my pay roll. Teach you how to build, you got allot of commences! So that you have stable work.
love your videos brotha...probably a silly question but im currently installing whats call Fire Bead, regular trim bead on one side and fire foam on the other, with a gasket seal on it. Man, such a hassle to install especially when the concrete that it being installed to isnt level and plum. Pretty bad stuff, my staples never set in properly, im using t50s,no adhesive, the job for some reason doesn't require spray adhesive. Got any tips on how i can set in my staples in more consistently and flush, love your vids man.✊🏼👊🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
What happens when the owner decides to remodel & remove the sheet rock you glued to the wall we do not do this in the US that I'm aware of & I do not think it's all that good if an idea to glue wallboard to the studs. if the person hangs the wallboard properly there is no need to glue the wallboard to the studs like you've done here .
Wish I had walls where the wasn’t vapour barrier. I cut into drywall the try to figure how to fix the cut at the top where that small top piece of drywall remains. Or remove a ceiling with walls in place, how to make the barrier continuous….
It’s generally a 6 mil poly clear sheet. Forces water vapour to form on the warm side of the plastic. Some climates don’t need it. It always goes in the warm side of the insulation. Southern US they put it on the exterior face of the wall batt. Being in Canada it goes under the drywall. It’s also used for air sealing. So making holes in that and having air leaks and water vapour forming on the insulation here comes some mould. When it’s -25c outside and the thermostat is set to +20c the moisture can build quickly.
The ease with which you do everything is pretty amazing.
I do it almost every day it has became a part of 😊
As much as I do have to admit that I’m not as good as he is. Don’t underestimate the power of editing 😬.
Very good job fixing that my man, not many people take pride in their work like you do.
Thank you very much
I couldn’t sleep at night until I fixed it

Great video. Everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes you have to fix other's work as well.

You can do level5 bro , that’s easy with straight edge leveling.
You are always A-mazing ❤️
Now you’ve just became amazing 😊
The insulation needs to be at its full thickness to work properly. When you tuck it in you create cold spots
Nice fix, putting your work right.
Not completely your fault but, at least you won’t get caught with that one again.
