We farm a 600 acre rice farm in SW Arkansas, and a separate 1000 acre farm a few miles away. The last two years the ducks have decided to roost in our fields instead of coming in to feed in the morning like they always have. I don’t know what has changed but we haven’t killed but a handful the last two years and it ain’t looking like it’s getting any better for us.
I love seeing yalls videos it really pushes me to get the properties looking like y’all’s and y’all inspire me to work harder so I can hunt even harder so keep up the amazing content!!
Maybe killing helpless animals with high-powered weaponry isn't that popular. There's no real challenge in it. Anyone can shoot at a target that hasn't got a chance. It doesn't take a genius to aim and pull a trigger. If you need to feed your family, that's one thing, but doing it as a "sport" is a whole other matter. When I want to challenge myself, I want it to be a real challenge, not a side show attraction.
Someone from East Texas here: please for the love of God take some of our water. The Neches has flooded for 5 years straight, beavers moved in, and now we aren’t able to hunt our honey holes because it’s too deep, and it’s a battle every summer with the beavers and praying to God everything dries out enough to do the work we need to do. It never does. I will never lost my appreciation for exactly how powerful water and weather is, because we do all we can, but in the end we’re just left with our wangs out crossin our fingers that we don’t flood again.
