Hi Darren it's Helen. Your Tandoori chicken tikka looks so very nice. Fantastic Darren you've done so well. I'm going to have a go at making your recipe. Thankyou so much. 🎉🎉
That looks amazing!!! I'll definitely be trying that recipe out!! Also I actually like cleaning/tidying up so if you cooked like that I'd be more than happy to do the washing up 🧼🧽🧹😁
Missing the authentic tandoori colour DJ otherwise looks good, 5/10 👍🏻
Great recipe looked very tasty and not difficult. Very healthy option. Thanks Darren
Absolutely top notch DJ, it's all about the quality
Love the home cooking vids
You should be using chicken thighs instead of breasts...much tastier and cheaper. Chickens need to go CHEEP.
Mint yoghurt would be great with this.
Hello DJ, it's really good to see that u r showing ur own recipes and happy to see that our request u fulfilled. About ur recipe I would like to mention here it really looks nice & tempting. U did a good job Loved to watch that. 👍
Lovely . I’ve been making own tikka for years , easy under grill or on BBQ , so much better than that CT Masala nonsense , which is not real Indian sub continent just invented in Glasgow to appease customer who didn’t realise what he’d ordered .
Can't beat a good Tandoori chicken tikka and yours certainly looked good DJ..😃
DJ another brilliant video didnt know you had so many skills Chef Biker Travelling what brand of knife is the one you use thanks SB
That veg could gave done with some seasoning couldnt it?
Spot on. Have you tried doing your tikka in the air fryer?
i spray the chicken with red wine vinegar before putting it in the oven
DJ,
My mouth is watering, 😋 whilst watching you prepare one of my favourite home made dishes, similar ingredients to your recipe.
I'll Definitely be making that again very soon.
The best thing too, its very healthy & delicious!
I Really enjoy your home cooking videos especially the healthy dishes....i'm trying to lose a few lbs, before i go on a cruise in April...so that I can indulge on board 🛳 🥂🥳
Lizzie 👌🤗🥰
Hi Darren. Great job mate.
Just a quick niggle though. You said and listed Tumeric. It's actually Turmeric.
Looks very nice Darren. But I must say I've never see chicken tikka served with carrots LOL.
You have now - no rule books here
Looks delish sweet .Thank you for sharing xx 😊
Very healthy curry Darren.looked very nice indeed.🤩👏🙏🏼😜
Brilliant I am ready to try this as well, keep them coming x
Hope you enjoy
Super market Chicken in pumped with water to add weight. Organic is the way to go. DJ can cook.He sould write a cook book.I cook exactly the same way.
Love tandoori chicken the chickens we sell in Sainsbury’s look like they were either pumped with steroids or sent to the gym before they were killed, there giants and their only £3.00 I agree with you,I like quality. Could you do some air fryer recipes please. I made tandoori chicken a couple of weeks ago.yours looks delicious.😋👏🏻
The Hairy Biker's Tandoori chicken recipe is amazing. So simple
I'll have to give this a try, Darren, it looks a bit of alright. Truly does.
Hi Darren thank you mate ill try that recipe tonight 👍 Shane in Sydney 🦘🇦🇺
Marinated chicken looks great, going to try it this weekend, thank you.
LOOKS A GREAT RECIPE LOVE YOUR CHANNEL DARREN VERY INFORMATIVE I AGREE WITH YOU BUY THE BEST INGREDIANTS YOU CAN AFFORD🌶🫑🍆🍅🥦
Hi Darren you looking happy that food from your skill looks delicious happy food take care and enjoy ❤😅
Looked very nice DJ but what I always do is when I've removed the chicken pieces from the marinade, I throw in the onions and peppers into the bowl, stir them around and soak up all that tikka residue then roast them, game changer . Funny how no matter what brand or how much you spend on an oven there's always one corner that has a hot spot (Top Middle or Bottom) that chars more than the other area
Hey up mate top advice on the pepers i end up with seed's everywhere thank you
I followed you recipe and made them for my husband and I can say they taste amazing,I put them into skewers though
Glad you like them!
@@DJsFoodTravels tried to send a pic but couldn't,they really are amazing xx
Great recipe for a BBQ and definitely a sauce. Thanks will give it a go in the summer.👍
Love the home cooking vids DJ
Agree with you on the chicken. Good to see you using organic x
Enjoyed this video mate, I really enjoy cooking and also find it very therapeutic!
I don't always buy organic, but sometimes I do!
Love how you have your own merch in the kitchen 😂😂🤘🏻
You said you don't like washing up-shame you don't have a dishwasher there + just load things up each day then turn it on!
Looked yum that-was that 2/3 days worth of dinner for you Darren?
Looks good DJ. sad news about hairy biker
Looks lovely I will try it. Found recently the texture of chicken is getting worse. I’m considering going organic it looks so much nicer. I cut my peppers your way and that’s the way we teach our students at school. Great recipe thanks 😊
Nice mate👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you! Cheers Steve
That looks bloody awesome 😎 Darren. I very often have the chicken tandoori at the Indian with Bombay potato 🥔 YUM! P.s for you who mentioned sauce….tandoori chicken or meat isn’t in a sauce 😮
Looks very nice! Will give that a go. You should try The Cheeky Indian's jeera wings...though maybe not if you're dieting...
I really enjoy your cooking-at-home videos, Darren. Ive never tried to make a proper chicken tikka masala but you make it look very simple and easy.
I would definitely give this recipe a try after seeing how vasic it actually is.I think the beauty is that your personal recipe ts a template which can be adapted to fit the individual tastes of the person eating it.
These videos are always very relaxing to watch but i know that it cant be that easy to film with so many different spices to include.
Anyway, these food videos are my favourite videos on your channel, Darren.
Fair play.
Great video Darren and amazing food there.
I've got a mate who like yourself, uses almost the same recipe as you have here but also hates using mustard. However, he does use mustard seeds instead.
Thanks for sharing the recioe Darren and glad you enjoyed the food👌👍
Hi Darren another great video,I make chicken tandoori all the time but you’ve given me a few new ideas, have to pick up on one point though, this thing about it’s all about the quality and not the cost,it’s like a multi millionaire saying to you why do you rent an apartment when you could have a mansion like mine, moneys relevant to everyone, anyway keep up the good work, take care
Good Evening Darren. Yes, i really did enjoy this Chicken Tikka with mixed Vegetables. Home cooked and eaten. What more could you want. Very Healthy and Substantial Ingredients you chose. You really understand all about your Food Darren. This was " Off the Charts ".
HI Darren Your food looked good could have done with some sauce.
I noticed that you like the best you can buy but you must realise that not every body has a waitrose or a Posh market as well and would not afford that sort of food anyway they would have just have the standard supermarkets and in some places they do not have markets anyway.
Hi Darren, I requested home cooked food xx This didn’t disappoint ❤️ x Can’t wait for the next one - Maybe a healthy soup ? .. Gaynor x
Wow!!! That looked good enough to eat 😂 seriously Darren great job that's what cookings about putting your own twists on things wish they did smellyvision
Always enjoy watching you cook. Very therapeutic Darren. What a lovely healthy dish. I’d wash the dishes for a share of that lol! 🥰☀️🥰xxx
Hello DJ, looked delicious and definitely healthy, like you said. Im going to give it try. it's a change from rice. Great video, really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing your chef skills 😊😊
Would you consider purchasing your meat from an old-fashioned butcher ?
Hi Darren looked superb
You’re looking a tad tired don’t forget to take care of yourself mate
For those hearing the talk on supermarket chicken breasts and his reasons for buyimg organic ate slightly misinformed... Here in the UK our fresh chicken is not pumped with anything in order to prolong it's shelf life. We have a very stringent FSA who make sure the feesh meat we consume is safe to eat. That we know where it comes from and how it's produced along with what is in it. Some do contain water.. But very few. So if you're on a budget please don't panic thinking your chicken has lots of nasties in... it doesn't!!
The main reason why organic is more expensive is because of the cost of rearing and raising. Organic chickens tend to live longer so inevitably cost more to feed. The fat content on organic chicken breasts is lower so it has less calories... As far as corn fed, you'll find that your chicken will look more golden because of the diet the chickens are fed. Corn fed breasts cook far better than regular chicken beeasts whether organic or not.. Just overall more tender
But to be honest... Chicken is great it's really versatile and as long as you cook it well don't worry about whether you're buying organic or not
Sainsbury's, tesco, lidl and Aldi (I find Asda a bit hit or miss!) ALL DO good quality chicken. Just when your buying. Check the dates! Obviously buy the one with the longest use by date and of you're not cooking within 2 days of buying then freeze it! It keep it same day fresh!
There are lots of folks out there who watch these types of videos in order to get an idea of costs and value for money... I think the snobbish organic remarks vs regular chicken it's more out of ignorance and lack of knowledge of the difference of COST in producing corn fed/organic over regular chicken.
If you can... and you're lucky enough to have a good quality butcher, that for me trumps ALL supermarkets. Including Waitrose or Marks and Spencer.. and cheaper whilst supporting your local butcher
Great to see you back in the kitchen doing what you do best. can really see that you are a former chef. Ill be making it this weekend
That looked a very tasty meal DJ. I may be inspired to have an attempt myself!
You make it look so easy Darren ❤
Mouthwatering Meal
Look forward to more 👍

Great Meal bet it's tasty am now Starving well Done D.J
Looks great, I made a chicken tikka masala last night and marinated the meat overnight. Tasted good!
Lovely looking Tikka. Expensive chicken though
Great vlog Darren everyone has their preferences for me a bit more sauce needed. 👍
I cut my chicken with scissors.find it much easier
each to their own
Me too less washing up
Looks good, a pitta bread would finish that off for me
That looks delicious & thanks DJ 😋👍🍗🥕🧅🫑
Absolutely brilliant. You never mentioned what kind of chef you are but you must have the chefs working at Indian restaurants feel like they have competition!
🙏🏼🙂👍🏼
Yummy looks very tasty Darren ❤
That looks so good. Going to be trying this recipe at the weekend! 🤩
this is great no giveaways just food way to go

Just..........yummy. 😘
simple but tasty dinner, nice
LOVE IT LOVE IT x
Good food in doors dj 😊
Yummy😊
Looks superb Darren
Brilliant video
I see no sauce and that's necessary for chicken tika
Actually chicken tikka has no sauce, that’s where the chick tikka masala comes in,once you add the sauce you have changed the chicken tikka into chicken tikka masala.
Not at all. Chicken tikka is the authentic dish. Dry, cubed pieces of chicken. The word tikka meaning pieces. The British just bastardised the dish and came up with the abomination known as chicken tikka masala.
FFS DJ stop buying supermarket chicken. Support your local butcher or don’t you have high street butchers like we do up North
When I can I do - but my nearest is difficult to get to
Lovely
sorry but for me theres no sauce and roast veg doesnt go with a curry as well as rice does..but each to their own.
Chicken tikka is not a curry so doesn't have a sauce, never has done. How many more people need educating? 😂
It's not a curry!
fabulous content educating the masses... Halal chicken is so cheap at Waitrose.. Did I read that Natural Yoghurt label correctly at 05:09? The end product is superb. The Turmeric must have provided the color.
Traditionally, chicken tikka has no place for mustard in the marinade. However one of the key components is dhegi mirch, also known as Kashmiri chilli powder. It's what gives chicken tikka that distinctive red colour. That way you would also omit the tomato puree. It's completely different from chilli powder, as dhegi mirch has very little heat, but a lot of vibrant red colour.
Also, not really tandoori chicken without a tandoor, more like oven baked chicken tikka. A tandoor would give a very smokey flavour profile, which is synonymous with tandoori chicken tikka. Would have been better to cook with skewers as the heat goes all the way around, rather than letting them steam in their own liquid when they're flat on the foil.
Lastly, does need the green mint and coriander chutney, as well as the red chilli and tamarind chutney.
Wow, you must do this, you must do that. I commend the guy for making chicken tikka from scratch and not chicken tikka masala. That would have deserved your lecture.
@@sanjsharma8184 lol you silly fudu. The guy in the video said give him your feedback. Don't be such a Karen
Oi paagla, telling him about a tandoor lmao. How many people have a tandoor at home? You make do with your oven or air fryer. Forget Karen, you quit being a Kiran.
@@sanjsharma8184 then dont call it tandoori you blithering muppet. Tell you what paajiz meri lan te waj cheek mar de fudi diya
Play nice 🙏🏼
Video idea order a dish and make the same dish at home see if it costs less and is ready before food is delivered
What no sauce are you serious 😮
This isn't ment to be saucy but it's a dry meal. A masala sauce is what makes it saucy sweet x
Adding sauce to chicken tikka is a British abomination. Authentic chicken tikka is dry like this.
Agree about the chicken. Its just a lot of families cant afford it, which imo is wrong. We should ALL be able to afford decent, good food!!😊
You can use ordinary chicken. Just marinate it for 24-48 hours so the flavours really get in. Works just as well.
Thanks 😊 yummy wil try half chilli hot . half mild for myself . nice with roasted peppe onions from karen s
Hope you enjoy
Brilliant video abd rhe fibished article looked amazing!! By the way, have you lost more weight because it looks like you hace abd if you have.. well done!! Hope all is well, take care
Coleman 's mustard is the one of the greatest condiments of all time. Fact! I am as a fan of the channel ,disgusted that you as a man of your age the don't know this.😂😅
Evening Darren, a quick simple recipe. And to be fair not a great deal of washing up ( no chef or indeed former chef likes sink duty😢) Now a brief word about the elephant 🐘 in the room😮 Cost.I have said before in the comments, like yourself quality is always the best guide line. However not everyone shops in Waitrose or Borough Market. When my son went of to University,he'd picked up a few tips in the kitchen. The one thing I tried to impress on 🤔 him. Buy the best you can😮Eat at the best restaurants you can. Drink the best you can afford And strive to make it the best life you can. You are a great ambassador for getting back up,and fighting the odds to survive and succeed 😊❤bit rambling, sorry 😢Cheers Allan&Family
All I need now are throw away plates. ha ha
So very sad to hear Dave Myers died yesterday as well. Sorry dont mean to be depressing. Lovely guy!❤
Very sad
