Exactly what I was thinking too! Really a double salad with the tomato and olive salad, then a salad broken down into 5 equal parts, bread and rice are also inexpensive to make, which makes for a huge profit margin for the restaurant. However, I'm sure they pay sky-high rent and utilities on the building and staff, so they do need a relatively high profit margin from the food for those things. It's understandable that their prices were that high for dinner. I would never be able to afford a place like that unless someone else was paying! LOL
My 🇺🇸ex in laws had terrible table manners and appalling cutlery skills, a knife was an alien tool to grab in a fist and hack at meat, the shovel it in their mouths with just a fork…also used incorrectly 🤦🏼♀️ I used to look like the Queen out with them 😂

Me and my good lady have Turkish nosh delivered from our local, Bodrum, here in Leicester. We have the special platter, has 4 strips of sheesh, pieces of lamb, chicken, chargrilled chilli peppers and tomatoes on a bed of rice in a container about 10 inches square, comes with chilli sauce pots, garlic mayo , another container full of fresh salad and 2 large warm pieces of fresh bread for 16.99, we also add doner meat n chips for another 6 quid, enough for 4 people easily and the quality is amazing for 27 quid delivered. I won £30 on the Lottery about 2 years ago Gary....does that get me through the door of The Sheesh????😁. I used to go to the Fat Turk in Brentwood when I was on my travels and always had a good meal there. At 30 quid that looked great value and would happily pay that, but £50 for the evening Shish, that would be an eye waterer and not just from the chillies!!! Another top one there Gary......Fantastico!!!
Gary, love to see you go back and try the expensive options on the menu, curious as to what they have to offer. Blown away by what you reviewed today.😊
Do you buy pitted black olives or ones with stones still in them? As Jamie Oliver was saying the pitted black olives, with the stone already removed, are green ones, but dyed black? He's definitely right about some of them being dyed black, but I'm not sure if they all are though.
Wow I didn’t even realise Chigwell was a real place. And Gary is the most recent celeb to frequent the Sheesh! The presentation of the main dishes were a work of art and I love the idea of placing the pitta bread underneath to soak up the juices.
Hi Gary! Yikes, that's a bit of a wallet buster. Very interesting decor... Thought it had a "secret society" look & feel to it. I imagine you're paying alot for setting & location but it's still way up there! Personally, I don't like olives, but my brother & my dad love them & will woof them down. 😅 I thought the chicken & lamb looked amazing. You could really share one of those between two people. The spices seemed to be on the attack a few times there. Lol. Dessert looked lovely, but sorry it was a little dry. Wonderful review as always & totally agree, try it out for the £30 business lunch menu... Certainly no skimping on portion. Almost at a very well deserved 150K subs Gary! You both take care & see you on the next one. ☺️💙
It was good but not amazing Erin, I wasn’t a fan so I won’t be returning if you understand my point. I’ve had better elsewhere, more importantly I hope you’re well and having a wonderful week ❤️❤️🌹

Seems pretty fair and honest the 8/10. Large portions and well cooked food. Presentation was amazing, a feast for ones eyes. Sheesh is really worth a visit. Well done Gary🤙
Managed to watch your review Gary nursing an awful chest infection so not up to much! Very pretty plate of food and wonderful for your gut! Thanks Gary. X
Even for a business lunch I would have hoped for two choices for starter and dessert. Lamb looked especially good. Naturally it's pricey when you consider how much all the bling will have cost the owners. Thanks again Gary and son.
Location, location, location hiya Gary & Cameraman. It could have been a set from " Birds of a Feather " Has got to be said, a touch ostentatious for me. I can imagine the local " set " going to be seen over the weekend. Again a brilliantly vibrant display of food, which in its self is a beautiful sight. The remarks you gave were in your own honest and truthful style. So good to hear. Can't see it as a destination restaurant, even the" business lunches " must be local trade. Maybe a post office raid or a small bank job and I might pop in. Think my cards would self shred at those prices 😂😂💳💳✂️ As always an interesting view over the garden wall. Thanks for the information on how the other half eats 👌👍😊Allan&Family
This is definitely a place to be seen, I think there was too much salad on offer on this occasion, the GP percentage must be massive, I would definitely not go there in the evenings Allan, as always regards to the family
Great video Gary as always!.. The lunch seems much better value for money compared to the evening meal prices, but i heard in the evenings it has more a of party vibe and celebrity hang out! The mayfair branch looks good too, and i think they also have special lunch deal, definately might try out the lunch menu but i agree the dinner menu is very expensive and hard to justify.

Thank you for an enlighting and interesting peek into Sheesh 👍 The interior decor looked a bit tasteless to be honest. The platter of veggies was impressive, I'd have enjoyed munching my way through that.
Two restaurants you should try down at Walton on the Naze, Whites Pie and Mash Shop and The Lara Turkish Kebab restaurant, a lot cheaper than Sheesh and the food is amazing. 👍🏻

Thanks Gary, I was pleasantly surprised at what you got for the money after looking at the crazy prices on the menu. Looks like they are catering partly for people for whom money is no object and also the people that dont want ripping off!

Gary, I really don’t know how you accommodate the volume of food served up, I’ve put on 30lbs watching you consume £30 worth…..Eastern Med restaurants, Lebanese, Syrian or Turkish have always been so generous with their portions…..the food looked fantastic!
Sound advice, go during the day for the better value business lunch to avoid the high price main menu whilst also avoiding the wannabe's and z-list celebs that turn up in the evening. 😃
Love olives, black or green, love them all. A recent drive around northern Spain reminded me how much I love the big green olives there. Living in Portugal its mostly small black olives that are firmer, sharper, but still delicious!
Great review Gary, thanks again. Turkish food is my favourite because it’s not only delicious but aesthetically really pleasing. I thought for what you got, £30 was quite reasonable for the lunch, but everything else ridiculously expensive. The food looked real quality and a lovely place as well. 8/10 for me 👍
Looked very good value for £30 considering. It's strange how bronze cutlery seems to have gone out of fashion nowadays because it does indeed look like gold . Thanks for another great review.
maybe because of the many people with nickel allergy who would object to be given Bronze Cutlery. Nickel Allergi is one of the most common forms of allergy
I had to laugh when you bit into that green pimento. Your reaction was classic Gary! I use pimento regularly in my cooking, being on the edge of Basque country. They turn from green to red, and become hotter and sweeter: hotter still when they dry out and shrivel.
I'm a recent subscriber and really enjoying the honest critiques. Some other food reviewers I've watched for a while, you can tell if they aren't impressed but still just gloss it over. It just comes off as phony and insulting to the viewers who actually want an honest experience. It helps the restaurants and fast food places in the long run to improve on their game
Wow, that looked yum! Charcoaled meat plus crispy salad and dips is one of my favourite things 😋 Bling isn’t my thing, but if I were there I’d make a special journey for the business lunch. Thank you for the great review, as ever ❤️💪
Looks good, but most on that plate is sliced and diced 'salad', which is so ridiculously cheap for restaurants to provide. Or do they grow their own? Your work is always brilliant and so civilised. Puds do look yummy though! Thank you, you never disappoint us.❤

I think that I would agree with you Gary, I would certainly be happy popping in for lunch at those prices but I'd be reluctant to go for an evening meal. I have to say that it did look delicious though. Thanks for the video guys. Cheers.
Great video, as usual. The Presentation of the food was amazing. The lunch menu price is reasonable but the main menu is a complete rip off. Pretentious surroundings and cost with a lack of substance. The cost of ingredients does not warrant the main meal prices.
I can’t understand how they justify charging £30 for a bit of truffle,I worked in a top 5 star restaurant, and real truffles are such a strong taste you need very little on the dish, and they said truffle, but didn’t specify if that was real white truffle, black truffle (cheaper) truffle butter,or oil.😊

I have to agree with you completely. It’s somewhere to be seen if you know what I mean.
No better way to spend some time watching a Gary Eats video on a rainy Tuesday afternoon . Looking forward to your video. Have a great day everyone.
Thanks so much Bino... the weather has not been kind!
I think you need to win a bit more than that, David lol 😂
At a minute and a bit in, the astroturf and ridiculous statues tell me all I need to know about this as a northerner.
@Metallex: Hello, fellow Northener!
I can't say it would be my usual
Yep, style over substance. As a Machester lad , a careful Christian. It's not for me 😂
Lunch prices Yes evening prices forget it, no matter how good it looks😳
Think about it as being a Theme Park with outstanding food. Probably about the same price and value?
Love Gary’s reviews simple honest and on a real level keep up the great work Gary
Thank you very much as always, Dean
Gary, love to see you go back and try the expensive options on the menu, curious as to what they have to offer. Blown away by what you reviewed today.😊
I will definitely be not returning to this restaurant
Love olives, black for salad and pizza, and green for martinis.
Ah..Mr Bond
Do you buy pitted black olives or ones with stones still in them? As Jamie Oliver was saying the pitted black olives, with the stone already removed, are green ones, but dyed black? He's definitely right about some of them being dyed black, but I'm not sure if they all are though.
Absolutely Patrick!!
Shaken or stirred Mr Bond?
Love olives and so does my boy. He's autistic and usually become picky with food not him loves all the charcuterie. We could both eat olives for days.
Wow I didn’t even realise Chigwell was a real place. And Gary is the most recent celeb to frequent the Sheesh! The presentation of the main dishes were a work of art and I love the idea of placing the pitta bread underneath to soak up the juices.
It’s definitely a real place, but one I won’t be returning to
Excuse me! I live in Chigwell.
That's cool, I honestly only heard of it because of the Birds of a Feather comedy, plus I'm up north and my geography isn't too good ;)
" Secret society feel " ? ...in what way ?
@@adejames1960Did you ever see the movie "The Skulls" ? It just reminded me of that straight away.
It was good but not amazing Erin, I wasn’t a fan so I won’t be returning if you understand my point. I’ve had better elsewhere, more importantly I hope you’re well and having a wonderful week ❤️❤️🌹
Fab review as always Gary.I love black olives.I think its great value for £30 .The presentation was very very good .Two people could easily share that .Keep up the fab reviews ,and both keep safe .
Thank you very much it’s really appreciated Glyn
Sheesh OH MY! That looked delightful and so fresh!. Fantastic review as always! Thanks Gary ❤
Thank you very much ❤️
Those big green chillies are always gonna be spicy Gary.
But their business lunch offering definitely looks good. 😋♥️
I am an absolute Muppet ❤️
@@GaryEats Haha! Ah no you’re not! 😃😃
Seems pretty fair and honest
the 8/10. Large portions and
well cooked food. Presentation
was amazing, a feast for ones
eyes. Sheesh is really worth
a visit. Well done Gary🤙
Thank you very much, Paul
I agree with many of the comments, Gary's simple, no-nonsense food reviews are quality.
That’s so very kind thank you
Managed to watch your review Gary nursing an awful chest infection so not up to much! Very pretty plate of food and wonderful for your gut! Thanks Gary. X
I hope you get better very very soon Sarah. Please take care of yourself yourself. Xx
Even for a business lunch I would have hoped for two choices for starter and dessert. Lamb looked especially good. Naturally it's pricey when you consider how much all the bling will have cost the owners. Thanks again Gary and son.
Thank you very much, Stephen
Great post as always ❤ much love as ever 🎉
Thank you very much James
Gary, much respect for responding to every comment on UA-cam. How much time does it take you, on average? Best food reviewer out here🙏🙏🙏
That is very kind to say Barry, it takes me about 12 hours, but I don’t mind as I appreciate everyone watching and commenting 👍👍
@@GaryEats thank you. I will keep pushing the like button before watching👍👍
Thank you for the information, Sally. I won’t be going back in the evening though.
Hi Gary, another great video, Great presentation and the food looked delicious, a bit pricey though.
It was expensive and thank you very much, Vince
I love that old pickup truck in the back. It is perfect.
I agree with you
That's the sort of business lunch where nobody goes back to the office afterwards... Everybody goes home to sleep it off!
A huge sleep would be needed after this Martin
Birds of a feather 🪶 love an old school reference Gary . Scran looks good 👍. Best reviews on UA-cam sir
Thank you very much, David
Oh the price is fine my fine people, just watching this while taking a bit of sun at my maldives island home, the siberian caviar is not the best today but needs must, must dash as i have a new lambo just coming to the dock 😂 great vid gary
Thank you very much, Stewart, I hope you have a fantastic holiday day
Great review Gal the biz menu sounds great! But @ full price Lamb chops 59 squiddles... Lamb shish 49 squiddles... Chicken Shish 39 squiddles....
Sheesh are taking the Peesh!
Thank you very much mate and yes you're spot on
A whole lamb, butchered and ready for freezing, is around £200. Their evening prices are an absolute rip off.
Enjoyed that, thanks Gary.
Thank you very much for watching and commenting
Gary,
Sheesh.
It had the Wow factor in every dish, possibly the best ive seen, stunning perfection & presentation!
The business lunch 3 courses for £30, nothing wrong with that...for that quality.
Yet another superb review from the dynamic duo 👏
The channel just keeps on improving & getting very close to 150k subscribers 🎉🎉
All the very best!
Cheers 🍻
I really appreciate that, thank you so much Tel. One for your future list?
@@GaryEats Never say never eh mate, looks very impressive! 👍
Forget the chilli that had me! So glad to discover your channel. Obviously really late to your channel but working my way through your videos! Genuine nice reviewer and great content. Well done to you!
I really appreciate you watching so many videos thank you very much
Thank you for an enlighting and interesting peek into Sheesh 👍
The interior decor looked a bit tasteless to be honest. The platter of veggies was impressive, I'd have enjoyed munching my way through that.
It is a place to be seen Rosie a bit of style over substance ❤️
Two restaurants you should try down at Walton on the Naze, Whites Pie and Mash Shop and The Lara Turkish Kebab restaurant, a lot cheaper than Sheesh and the food is amazing. 👍🏻
Thank you for the recommendations, Lenny
Those mains looked amazing , business lunch pretty good value .
Spot on Alan!! Very fair value for lunch
Another fantastic review and location Both . The lunch menu is the way to go for sure and reasonable for what you get . Wow that presentation and portion size is phenomenal . Good recommendation viewers 👍🏼
Thank you very, very much, Philip
Thanks Gary, I was pleasantly surprised at what you got for the money after looking at the crazy prices on the menu. Looks like they are catering partly for people for whom money is no object and also the people that dont want ripping off!
That is exactly the type of market they are aiming for Nick
Chigwell is full of people with more than sense, which is basically what restaurants like this rely on
Thank you Robert
"Forget the chilli."
Barry The Baptist providing the voice-over!
Very funny...
Take off the veg that’s been through the shopping channel veg Matic you’ve a length of meat a small bowl of rice and a few dips , be good value at £19 there’s absolutely minimum prep just presentation , , all
Looked really nice , 👍
Thank you very much, Gary
Hi Gary I thought I would share the history of the pub before Sheesh came about. I loved your review as always and the food looked delicious and great value for money (the lunchtime menu). Looking forward to your next review.
That’s very kind, thank you very much
What a lovely looking place this is, slightly expensive but what lovely tasty food, lot's of lovely colours. And the flavours looked like they were good, excellent video as always Gary.
I don't think I've ever tried Turkish food, but it looks delicious
HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU NOT OF TRIED TURKISH FOOD? WHERE DO YOU LIVE UNDER A ROCK? LOL
Try Turkish if you also try something called Ezme, sort of salad with warm bread….wow😮
No problem, Trevor if you ever get the chance, give it a go
I used to go there when it was the Kings Head. Lovely pub back in the day
So I understand some other comments, Steve
Chigwell ¬ Pumped up prices everywhere
Other restaurants in the area are not too bad. Sheesh always been higher.
It is an expensive area, Mandy
One of the highlights of my day. Watching Gary and guessing his score correctly. 😂
That is so kind to say and well done Cynthia
Hi my friend I want to share my good news with you it’s been 10 years cancer free even though my path is full of pain in other areas of my body through my disability’s and more surgery’s to follow on other parts of my body I am truly grateful to not have this disease anymore yes I’ve lost parts of my body but that does not matter last surgery I’ve had to have a stoma bag fitted which was a very painful surgery in itself but your smile and vlogs are so lovely to watch and I enjoy looking forward to all the nice or not nice food you try take care and looking forward to your next vlog 😊
You are a star Michelle, well done and please accept my best wishes! Thank you
@@GaryEats thankyou for your kind words 💗
Visually impressive, but the prices are outrageous, guv !
Agree with you
Gary, I really don’t know how you accommodate the volume of food served up, I’ve put on 30lbs watching you consume £30 worth…..Eastern Med restaurants, Lebanese, Syrian or Turkish have always been so generous with their portions…..the food looked fantastic!
I am very careful what I eat when I’m not doing a review Mark
Sound advice, go during the day for the better value business lunch to avoid the high price main menu whilst also avoiding the wannabe's and z-list celebs that turn up in the evening. 😃
That is very good advice
Love olives, black or green, love them all. A recent drive around northern Spain reminded me how much I love the big green olives there. Living in Portugal its mostly small black olives that are firmer, sharper, but still delicious!
That’s fantastic to hear
Great review Gary, thanks again. Turkish food is my favourite because it’s not only delicious but aesthetically really pleasing. I thought for what you got, £30 was quite reasonable for the lunch, but everything else ridiculously expensive. The food looked real quality and a lovely place as well. 8/10 for me 👍
Thank you very much that’s really appreciated
Looked very good value for £30 considering.
It's strange how bronze cutlery seems to have gone out of fashion nowadays because it does indeed look like gold .
Thanks for another great review.
maybe because of the many people with nickel allergy who would object to be given Bronze Cutlery. Nickel Allergi is one of the most common forms of allergy
Thank you Rob, but the cutlery was a bit unnecessary in my opinion
Gary, you were sweating more looking at their menu than when you had the Phaal!
I realised... I didn't belong Alex lol
I had to laugh when you bit into that green pimento. Your reaction was classic Gary! I use pimento regularly in my cooking, being on the edge of Basque country. They turn from green to red, and become hotter and sweeter: hotter still when they dry out and shrivel.
Don't we all 😉🤣🤣🤣
Gary, is that your Rolls Royce?
If anyone deserves one, it is you.
Gary drives a Mini he's a very humble bloke
I think I would look very silly getting out of a Rolls Royce
@@OrbitalTrails-x5s That's the cameraman's, Gary drives the Roller....dear me..... 🤣
Thank you very much
Wow, that looked yum! Charcoaled meat plus crispy salad and dips is one of my favourite things 😋 Bling isn’t my thing, but if I were there I’d make a special journey for the business lunch. Thank you for the great review, as ever ❤️💪
Thank you very much, Shirley ❤️
Looks good, but most on that plate is sliced and diced 'salad', which is so ridiculously cheap for restaurants to provide. Or do they grow their own? Your work is always brilliant and so civilised. Puds do look yummy though! Thank you, you never disappoint us.❤
Thank you very much my friend
Is your great camerman-son as lovely as you? I hope he always eats as well as you do! Does he ever decline the rubbish stuff you try for us?😅l@GaryEats
He's a pain in the backside lol!!
😂@@GaryEats
I would recommend the Sussex fish bar near Paddington station, really lovely staff, really good prices! Especially for London, would love to see you review it
Thank you for the recommendation
Olives... I prefer black myself. Nice presentation and colours, but then you'd expect that for the price. Glad you enjoyed it (minus the chilli!)
kalamata 4 me
More of a green olive guy, meself.
I did enjoy this one, but a lot of salad on this occasion, not sure this is my style of restaurant Siobhan ❤️🌹🇦🇺
@@GaryEats It's not really my style either though I do like a nice salad
I think that I would agree with you Gary, I would certainly be happy popping in for lunch at those prices but I'd be reluctant to go for an evening meal. I have to say that it did look delicious though. Thanks for the video guys. Cheers.
This is definitely one not to have the evening meal, simply overpriced
Great video, as usual. The Presentation of the food was amazing. The lunch menu price is reasonable but the main menu is a complete rip off. Pretentious surroundings and cost with a lack of substance. The cost of ingredients does not warrant the main meal prices.
I do agree with you the evening menu is simply too expensive
Well worth the £30.00 Gary! It was a feast indeed and your wonderful cameraman’s skills along with your zeal, as usual, made me salivate 😅❤️
Really well valued lunch mehu!
129 for steak with truffles - ' give it a go'!
or a keebab!!
Never in a million years lol
I can’t understand how they justify charging £30 for a bit of truffle,I worked in a top 5 star restaurant, and real truffles are such a strong taste you need very little on the dish, and they said truffle, but didn’t specify if that was real white truffle, black truffle (cheaper) truffle butter,or oil.😊
That looked pretty good, but I'd want a plate full of pitas to put all the meat and salad in! The little strip of bread underneath look a bit mean.
Funny how the commentors mentioned its a gangsta hangout and you showed a Thompson machinegun on the wall! 🤣
I think there was just too much salad, Richard
looked good to me, don't forget it was a lunch
good vid Gazza as always...love the bull out the front
Thank you very much, Jem
Nice review again Gary, love it
Thank you very much, Stephen
that lamb was cooked to absolute perfection, everything was expensive but it looked devine, michelin quality. lunch prices seem okay though
Give it a rest
@@frankmlchaelglasscock6539 excuse me? trolling for the sake of trolling? im a professionally trained chef who worked as an executive chef for 10+ years. i know what perfectly cooked lamb looks like
It was very good, but I’m not sure if it was up to Michelin standards Justin
30 quid for abit of salad and a couple of donuts. Matey is making a killing
I agree with you, John
