I put mix in a glass jar, with a new filter and fuel line. If I have any rough running I disconnect the Saw's fuel line and hook it to the jar. This eliminates any tank, filter, vent and line issues. Very easy to do and I have found bad filters and tank vents this way
I really like those Mk III’s. Most of the reviews I’ve seen on them have said they are a ripper. I’ll have to keep this in mind if I pick one up. Thanks Rich!
Ooh, I have one of these. I sometimes get this problem where they won't idle too. My air filter was plugged, so that took care of it. For some reason the filter on mine gets plugged pretty quick. They clean off really fast though, so that's nice.
Get both. The 2511t is going to need a little performance work to enjoy out of the box, but you'll love it for pruning and smaller removals because of how light it is. The 540 is a beast out of the box. I don't like the cheezy chain tensioner but so far the saws I've worked on have held up nicely so far.
@@richardflagg3084 Thx! Love and learn a lot from your vids. I currently have 2 beat-down 2511s that had some mods, a 355T that is strong and a 200T that is being fixed, again! How do I coordinate to get you some saws? My buddy has a tree biz vic Greenville.
Hey Richard I was given a 201tc that blew a hole in the top of the piston and was wondering your thoughts on what could have caused it? From my research it appears that it was pre ignition/ detonation and the exhaust port was thick with carbon which was flaking off. Is that a possible explanation for the failure?
Everytime i get few days away from buying one of these mk3 saws i see yet another video of one being repaired or attempted repairs ..theres thousand mixed reviews but never a solid one ..
Try starting it and keeping high idle on and once your able to give it throttle rev it 60-70% for a little bit to get it hot enough to not just shut off then let it sit and idle for 3 min. If it stalls before 3 just use high idle without choking it to get it running again and then start over 3 min timer. It should start to get itself right with the autotune eventually. Shouldn't be like that but it seems like that always gets it right for me until the next weather/temp swing. We got 3 new at work and all were pretty temperamental but I ported the one with my crew and man it was so much better and strongest top handle I've run hands down. I've done a lot of 201s and 200 and the Husqvarna pulls way harder just not as reliable. Also when your running it let it 4 stroke in the cut when you can the more you do it the better the high jet will get you will know right away when it finally gets tuned right.
Excellent diagnostic. All I am seeing from you shows your skills in being thorough and repairing units in the right way. Keep these coming.

I can imagine the frustration when in the tree and your new saw is acting like garbage. Good diagnosis on the fuel filter.
Yeah so those port up nice and are little screamers! Interesting repair on this ine and is very much noted!
Another good video Rich!! I love what you put out and greatly appreciate the time you take to put those out for our enjoyment.
Thank you!

Great video Richerd
Rich nice work. ❤❤❤
Great video!!
Nice video👍
What is general consensus on this saw? I am comparing it to Echo 2511T.

Buy the one that fits your immediate needs first and save up for the other (if you climb for a living).

Low tech fix on a high tech saw. And thats why they pay you the big bucks eh😂
😂😂😂😂
👍👍👍
I had 2 Stihl blowers that did that. Fuel filter
Hm. Well done. I'm jealous of your gas tank.

Don’t buy one
I’ve got a brand new Husqvarna immediately shuts off if you don’t give it throttle for more than 2-3 seconds. Will never buy another.
