@@THESCUMMBAR Just had a look around, think the rights have been passed around from holder to holder, latest was that the last one to have it became defunct and no ones picked it up yet so it just needs a new rights holder who will re release the game.

Hey I know this is ridiculous to say now after all this time. But if you happen to play the game again some time, when you pick up an item. You can double click on luggage and it gets put into the inventory. So no need to open it up each time. Also works for just picking stuff up and I think to exit the scene. BTW thanks for uploading this 👍
The irony in them asking if people are going to miss this type of genre and game design when it is gone. By 1996, the writing was on the wall; console games didn't have stories, but they were very fun to play and very accessible. Meanwhile, point and click adventure games were stuck in a rut while Shooters-and-RPGs became compelling PC game experiences. Decades later, and while no one missed the esoteric puzzle nature of point and clicks, it's clear that most games could use the sort of writing you only saw in a point and click adventure game.
Me and my brother remember our parents playing this game with this exact phrase being a fond memory, do you by any chance no where or when abouts it is in this walkthrough? TIA 👍
I wouldn't hold your breath. Perfect Entertainment's demise was a mess. Multiple legal cases, internal conflict. The rights to this game specifically are likely spread over multiple companies now (nobody seems to know) and the rights to release a Discworld game are similarly tied up. I'd like to see this as much as the next fan. But I simply don't think the nostalgic market for this game is big enough for anyone to put the time and money in to sorting the legal problems required to even sell the classic version, let alone extra money to remaster it.
Oh my god, i'm playing the PS1 version my phat PS3 right now with black bars around the screen, this PC version looks amazing. like playing with glasses on. PS1 version is so clunky and stuttery but i do love it
I have not watching the whole 3+hours (my goodness your patience!) but was wondering if it includes the Easter Egg we put in where Rincewind meets his DW 1 low-res self? Time point? I'd like to see it in context again.
I just finished the first and starting the second. Was thinking the exact same and not too sold on the music yet 🤨 sure it will be great. Doesn’t seem as difficult either for now, did act 1 with no need for hints or WT

Truly weird when he says "Aren't you gonna miss it when they stop making these games?"... yes, yes I do miss them.
4:19 "aren't you gonna miss all this stuff when they stop making these games? aren't you just gonna miss it all?" (1996)
They need to re-release this on the newer consoles. It seems like the game that everyone's forgotten about but those who knew this loved it.
I believe it's tied up in rights issues. They haven't even been able to sell the original on GOG.com

I am quite annoyed that Discworld Noir is still not supported by ScummVM. It is the best part of the series.

Terry Pratchett
God bless this game.
I've been looking for this game for over 15 years OMG my life is complete. Thank you. FOund in the end by accident. OW the nostalgia!
i just found it too!!! been searching for years!!!!
Me too
I've also been looking for this game for like 15 years and I found it today, with the help of a friend
I started playing this and just finished Act 1. That scene caught me off guard. Loved it.
25years later and I still the quote, sun, sea surf, sand, more surf, and rather persistent jokes about sheep for some reason.
Eric Idle really Nailed Rinsewind!
Better than bloody David Jason's version
Eric Idle as Rincewind is my favorite voice acting casting decision of all time.

@@THESCUMMBAR you're welcome and thank you for the upload
Should have a twist, the luggage is not made from sapient peartree. Its just a mimic eating all of Rincewinds stuff.
The days when adventure games were all the rage and worth playing along with FPS games.
I had this game and i LOVED IT. It reminded me of broken sword
I remember playing the PS1 demo of this as a kid and never working out how to complete it, watching this back I can understand why 😆

Bummer.
Why is there no love in the views?!
I would love to see all of these brought to the new consoles and for them to do a brand new discworld with rincewind as the main character.
Weirdest game ever it shaped my sense of humour
try some Discworld books or audiobooks for more of the same, if you haven't already!

Due to dumbass rights reasons, none of the Discworld games can be bought anywhere. Your best bet is second hand.
