    i use the atypical antipsychotic along with other medication, and i did get the dry mouth side effect at first, and akathesia as well, but they both went away

      Hello, thanks for your question!
      Atypical antipsychotics such as olanzapine are thought to cause weight gain by antagonism of the 5-HT2C receptor. The true mechanism of serotonin receptors and antipyschotics are still an area of active research!
