Here are some other Nike innovations. I guess you can call them innovations. Some more meaningful than others. The Swoosh Placement on the Vapor 4: Not a technological innovation, but an interesting branding and design innovation. I always liked the outrageously large swooshes on various past Mercurials. It’s very bold and hard to ignore. And it looks fast. It brought in more interest into the Mercurial. Many were split on it at first, but it would become almost synonymous with the Mercurial. And by extension synonymous with speed. The design had made its way into other Nike products. I don’t know if there was another piece of footwear that predates the Vapor 4’s Swoosh placement. Apart from select colorways that style of swoosh has been gone from the silo since the Vapor 11/Superfly 5 days. But lives on elsewhere. Popularizing one piece tongues: Difficult to say who invented it. But Nike sure made them mainstream in the world of football boots. We still see one piece tongue constructions are as strong as ever. And all the other brands had their takes on it. I guess it comes almost as adjacent to knitted uppers in boots. A companion feature if you will. But can be mutually exclusive. All chevron stud patterns: When the anatomical soleplate was introduced on the Vapor 11/Superfly 5. The new stud pattern was the most aggressive and had plenty of staying power. We would see slight tweaks to in subsequent models. With the latest generation of Mercurials ditching the all chevron stud pattern for a tri-star and bladed one. A few years later after 2016 we would see other brands kinda copying the stud pattern in one way or another. Tournament Packs: Since Euro 2008 Nike was popularized the idea of tournaments packs. Around every FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship all the major boot manufacturers release colorway packs that correspond to the major competition. Nike for Euro 2008 had these dark brown uppers with a white swoosh and a sky blue soleplate. But it wasn’t until South Africa 2010 were Nike really left a huge impression with the Metallic Mach Purple and Total Orange boots seemingly being everywhere as vuvuzelas buzzed in the background. I recall even the most casual of viewers were pointing out the Nike boots on TV in South Africa. Tournament packs have become the norm thanks to Nike.
That would've made more sense seeing that the Maestri III dropped in July 2012 and ACC was only introduced on the other 3 silos in September 2012, yeah 😂 Good call /Jay
damn magista.. i bought after i saw gotze goal in final wc against argentina. time flies. wish i can still use it now. but i still have it not good condition cause i wear it so much till it rip apart :( t90 and r9 mercurial r cool too
We actually had a discussion about whether to include it or not since KNG100 - which was also a synthetic leather - was already on the list. Kanga-Lite was of course a whole new level of synthetic leather (alongside Hybridtouch from adidas which they used on the Pred LZ) but ultimately we left it out seeing that there were so. many. other innovations to mention. Arguably should've been in the video though. /Jay
That intro though😂😂
In my opinion, the best 3 Nike cleats are:
1. Nike Hypervenom Phantom 1
2. Nike Magista Obra 1
3. Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 MDS2
Tiempo chilling

Great video jay thanks 😊
R9 the one that introduced Nike into football world . Yes Cantona did earlier but he make into UK, European market.
It's crazy how we have evolved
R9 And T90 the best ever.
i find it wild how when you mentioned ACC you didnt show us a CTR as it was the first boot to feature the technology
