The only problem about him is managing the subs. He doesn’t bring on Joao Felix when they need more creativity and when Palmer is having a bad game. Or he brings on Nkunku when there’s like 10 minutes left. Other than that, he’s done a brilliant job and Chelsea are the team to watch this season
You can't quite say bringing on Joao Felix for Palmer gives Chelsea more creativity in the field because Cole Palmer has showed everyone that he just need one moment of brilliance to create something out of nothing as well. I know that Felix can do quite the similar job but we for sure cannot say he would've done it had he been out in the field but we cannot say the opposite as well since he never came on. That's where Maresca has to trust his gut and do what he feels is right. I'm sure he'll keep that in mind and learn as days go by.

@@thisisgou Palmer is great there’s no doubt about it. But he’s not Messi. He needs a rest and he was literally missing against Everton. Felix is a brilliant dribbler and creates chances, he’d start at many other teams. He needs to be played more.

This is why Chelsea struggle against low blocks (Everton, Bournemouth, etc) who have no intention of attacking. They literally can’t allow counter attacks when they just sit back and

I dont think he is, better to lose a ball, like he does all the time, on the other half than on our own half. He is not that good at defensive tasks, at least from what ive seen for Chelsea
@@sportskipacino7256 yes. His defensive contribution is problem. He needs maybe 2 midfield partners next to him to give him that freedom to act in all thirds (Mcallister and DePaul for Argentina). You would need to build the team around him. When you build the team around him he elevates the level, but as an additional piece hes a luxury, there are probably players who are more effective in that position.
