Play super slow for a while and make sure you’re either pulling your fingers off or hammering on exactly at the same time that your pic strokes are raking through the strings. Sometimes when people first try the technique they’ll rake faster than they’re pulling their fingers off, causing strings to ring out or what’s happening is they’re pulling off the strings Too hard where they’re actually pulling open notes that can also cause string noise. You may want to try with a damper on the first fret. Personally, you don’t even need to buy a damper. I just use a hair tie sometimes and tie it around my guitar and that works just fine. It might help in the beginning process until you’re able to achieve the technique on its own. Let me know if that helps, if not always feel free to email me for more detail.
Cool lesson
Thank you!
Very nice lesson!
Thank you so much I appreciate that!
Thank you. Great lesson. When I try it with that much distortion, I try to mute unused strings but I can’t seem to get them quiet.
