I noted down many things in my diary from this video. Below mentioned are my most favorite :
    1. " Live life in such a way that the preacher doesn't have to lie about you"
    2. " Words are like seeds, they have the potential to bear fruits of the same kind"
    3. "Self-image is made by self and not by people"
    4. "We are not the product of our circumstances, we are the product of our decisions"
Thank you Sir Milton for one of the best Tedx talks i have head. God bless your lovely family

Beautiful and heartfelt...looking for solutions for a population who do not feel hope nor expect a future. I am a Pastor working on my DMin. I'm seeking to engage a population that do not know God and often are hurt by the church. Your story is insightful and though provoking. Thank you and keep sharing. What a bless your wife was given to be able to close her affairs and sleep knowing that her race was finished.

This is by far one of the greatest Ted talkshows that I have ever seen. I really agree eventhough that I feel sorry for the lost of his wife, that life is what you look into mirror to be of yourself, and what you allow people to create for you. I mean this is so true we always try to have people become pleased by the level of expectations that they have about us, while sometimes we negelect the very fact of looking ourselves in the mirror and say, '' Why do I want in life for myself and not what people want me in life to be''. How briliant of him to give the example of the diagram that show how words, thoughts, feelings, habits, actions, and the destination whether good or bad we want to reach are all interconnected. Thank you very much for this very inspiring lecture!

I cried a little after I heard about your wife Milton :( I pressed pause on the video so I could fully focus on putting my emotions into this comment before I return to watch the rest of what I think will be an inspiring talk :).
I was imagining life without my boyfriend whether he be the one to die or me...and that made me sad because I imagine you and your wife must have had a wonderful and loving relationship as so we. I love him so much and I don't want to live a day without him or him without me. Apologies for the kind of irrelavent comment, I just wanted to note down how the first 5 minutes of your talk affected me and how I think the next 5 minutes will be inspiring :')

Yes! I just really made the depth of this connection today! Let us look at the proverbs:
*1)* A bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree bears good fruit.
*2)* As a man thinks in his heart so is he.
*3)* Your life is shaped by your thoughts.
*The type of fruit the tree bears is rooted in what the man has sown.*
*The type of seed a man sows is the rooted in who he is.*
*The type of person a man becomes is rooted in his thoughts.*
*The type of life a man wants to live is shaped by what he thinks.*
In conclusion the end result is rooted in the type of life a man wants to live which he shapes by his thoughts.

You become what you believe, for you can think of anything you want, but if you don’t believe it will happen, you would take the action to make it happen. Although you must think before you believe, you must have the will to believe before you can think of it. I think that one day I will become one of the world’s best mathematicians, because I believe I can. But what is important is that I believe it, and so I will do whatever it takes to achieve that, for it is my dream. Nonetheless, that is how I think :)

While I don't disagree with the main point of the talk, the wife acted exactly like a suicidal manic depressive and should've been taken to a hospital to make sure she hadn't taken something to kill herself. Her response to death was manic and vain, and his response to her was lack of concern. That's heartbreaking to me. Even if she was terminal, she could've done something that didn't show up in an autopsy, but I doubt they even checked, and similar mania can be a side-effect of morphine.
Anyway, the concept of your life being shaped by what you think and whom you spend your time with is valid. I just don't view a highly medicated, manically suicidal woman--no matter how sweet and wonderful a person--as an ideal to emulate based on that one story. I've lost people through suicide, and I wish those closest to them would've paid more attention to warning signs.
I'm floored that he thought nothing of her such strong surety of death that she primped for meeting her maker. Such an act showed just how manic and delusional she was. Even the most devout Christians don't think one's freshly manicured nails are part of the soul, and her body would be quite primped by the morticians, and wouldn't she want those last few minutes telling her husband she loved him?

AccordingToLorna exactly the same what I was thinking. That sentence "this is the day" sounds more dramatic to me. And the feeling of "this is my wife" seeing other woman just sounded odd to me. Though I appreciate what he is trying to convey.
