We need to rethink our strategy going forward. We need to study why Australia performs so well in knockout stages of ICC tournaments, why they have won 6 World Cups. After the Aussies won their first World Cup in 1987, ONLY ONE TEAM has ever beaten them in a World Cup final. That too in a Neutral Venue. That team's country doesn't have Millions of Dollars invested in Cricket and is quite a small country with a small population.

They are a first world country and we are third world. That's the difference
After the Aussies won their first World Cup in 1987, ONLY ONE TEAM has ever beaten them in a World Cup final. That too in a Neutral Venue. That team's country doesn't have Millions of Dollars invested in Cricket and is quite a small country with a small population.
We love the Sri Lankans too. I remember when they came out here in 1984/85 and beat Australia in a one day game, was a landmark moment for them, which put them on the path to that victory you speak about. All the best.

They are. Cricket is a fully national game in Australia. The football codes a fragmented, e.g. Rugby League in a couple states, AFL in the other states, Rugby Union in a couple of states. Cricket has always been our one true national sport. During cricket season it is the main sport in all of Australia.

Toughest win because they doctor the pitches. If you follow their test matches you will notice most of their matches are played with SG Test ball, which is a poor version of Duke . Most of their tests end within 3 days because of pitch doctoring
