That was the difference between the 2 teams. Indian superstars vs Australian cricketers. The pressure was on the Indians since they had everything to prove. Aussies did what they usually do in the finals. They kept it professional, and their fielding in the final reflected on that.
No doubt the Australians and Indians have been involved in some of the best cricket ever played, but this time they reached a new level. This is for sure the bravest and most heroic cricket team I've seen, and I'm so proud to be Australian. We don't like cricket... WE LOVE IT! Massive thank you to the mighty India!! It's much easier to love a game when you have won 6 World Cups. But for us, this WC has opened up our the eyes for good. Second that. Tactically, Cummins got it spot on in the field. The way Australia nullified the Indian batting order after the first 10 overs was something else. To restrict India to just 5 boundaries in the last 40 overs is unheard of in ODI cricket today. Head’s numbers in the last few years must be up there with the Root, Kohli and Smith’s of this world. He is probably one of the best all format cricketers in the world today. But Australia need to look forward and not rest on their laurels. I don’t imagine too many of this squad will make the World Cup in 2027 with Warner, Maxwell, Starc, Stoinis likely to have retired while Marsh, Carey, Zampa and Hazlewood will be 36 by then so the Aussies need to identify the next generation of players to take on the mantle.

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi Travis Head in a final getting a monster ton when they needed him the most..Awesome innings 137 from 120 odd balls a hand full of Sixes in that ton..And they did it in front of 120 thousand Indian fans it was weird the stadium was so loud when Rohit Sharma was dispatching boundaries in his classy 60 odd and when little master 2.0 Virat kholi got his 50 the stadium was rocking. However the Aussie bowlers found a way to restrict the runs with lots of help from brillant feilding. Then keeping the mighty Indian side under 300 was defenitely giving us a fighting chance with the bat losing david warner early was not good the after a few cracking shots we also lost our all rounder mitch marsh followed by steve smith at that stage im sure india felt good with travis head finding his feet and marnis just getting his eye in before taking any risks things turned around both players played sensational and We saw a master class Travis head innings take away any chance India had kn winning its second world cup win...outstanding game Australia 10/10...

The Australian fielding was remarkable. Very aggressive and it showed a team intent on winning. David Warner in the deep was like a panther/man possessed. And of course Travis Head's catch to dismiss Rohit was the beginning of the end. Well done team Australia!!
