不是那個年代的人，所以對歌者本身有點陌生，歌典屬於洗腦有毒的種類，易上口。但重點卻在此片的很多細節當中，看到殖民地的悲哀，有色人種地位卑微受不公對待。諷刺的是，竟有一大群人歌頌港英時代如何美好，教導現在的學生，香港的「大倒退」是因為回歸了中國。對，大陸本身有很多間題要解决，有很多地方雖要檢討。但對比港英统冶要好多了，比一比各種經濟數字，看一看高官的膚色，越來越自由，民主漸漸開放。香港真的要回到「華人與狗，不得入內」的待遇才算幸福嗎？
然而這首歌是1940年民国舊上海灘時代的，周旋主演的天涯歌女的插曲，洗誰的腦?有什麼毒?
另外英國人歧視中國人已是英治時期早期的事了，中期開始已經漸漸沒有了。
