    What about playing the 8h instead of 9h?

      h8 is the one card you never want to play here, because it is the most ambiguous... always signal as clearly as your cards allow

      Thanks. But what about a card as high as J in place of 9. Would I still play that instead of 8?
      Also in a separate question in a lead from QJ43 should I lead Q or J?

      @@indranichowdhury1104 You signal with the highest card you can afford. Avoid using a card that might take a trick for a signal. Here, since you hold both 9 and 8, they are equals. If you are leading an honor from QJxx then lead the Q, as the lead of the J promises the T and denies the Q. Against NT lead small, not an honor, since you are missing both the T and 9.
