Thank you. I've posted other videos with train-cam footage. Over time there will be many more videos of different types including rolling stock, cab rides, scenic, layout tours, updates, track plans, loco comparisons, wagons and anything else! Just concentrating on building the layout at the moment. I've a mountain of locos, coaches and many huge rakes of wagons too, all to come in the future!
Hi Paul, thank you, glad you liked it, and oh yes, the log burner has been a life saver these last weeks! Often it's been only 2 or 3 degrees in the train room in the morning and within a few hours it's up around 20 degrees, even with it still being around or below freezing outside. Regards Julian
I pre-ordered it direct from Dapol's home website as it seemed the only way to get the factory fitted sound. They haven't any for sale on that site at the moment! Hatton's and Rails of Sheffield have the DCC ready and DCC fitted models in stock now. Regards Julian
Finally, somebody's posted it's hauling abilities - THANK YOU! I've been asking a few times on RMWeb with no replies - everyone's more concerned with lighting and exhaust location! How does it compare to the Hattons' Class 66? Weight, motor power, speed, traction. That large haul is impressive. Many thanks for sharing. Al.
Hi Al, you're very welcome! I would say it's comparable to the Bachmann class 66 in weight and pulling power and perhaps slightly faster. It was starting to lose traction slightly as the wagons navigated the corners (equivalent to radius 5 and 6) so any more wagons or tighter curves would be its limit. On a straight though it would probably pull twice as much! That's enough for most I'd imagine! It's a good solid performer out of the box and decent value compared to the other manufactures. Regards Julian
@@theeventhorizon-valebridge9512 That's great, thanks Julian. I have noticed Dapol motors have a tendency to be weak - unlike the Hattons 66 - which somebody has said is precisely the same motor as that used by Hornby in their revamped Class 87.
Thank you. It is possible, I bought them a couple of years back on eBay I think! I have about 50 Lima PTAs and a similar amount of Accurascale's too. Super wagons.I need to weather all my rolling stock at some stage but I'm mainly concentrating on building the layout first....but not exclusively though! I keep getting side tracked into buying things...such as new Dapol 59s etc! Regards Julian
How is that you have your class 59 already; I pre-ordered mind from Hattons almost two years ago and I still don't have it yet; are they in the shops already?
Hi Earl, I wanted factory fitted sound so I pre-ordered them directly from the Dapol website which was the only place offering the sound fitted option. They do not yet seem to be offering the sound fitted versions to the retailers, perhaps they never will! The retailers only seem to be showing the DCC ready, fitted or smoke generator fitted options, but not the sound! I would expect that yours will be on the way from Hatton's shop shortly but obviously the manufacturer will issue their direct orders first. They seem to be good solid models, they run well out of the box, comparable to the Bachmann 66s I'd say, but with more detailed chassis etc. Regards Julian
Hi Andy. Employing discretion, it was decided to be better that way!.....For now at least. Whilst I work out a channel format, for now, it's best just to show only the subject matter rather than the expose the poor, unsuspecting public to the complex provider that lurks behind the content, I concluded! I reserve the right to change my mind though! Lol... Regards Julian
@@theeventhorizon-valebridge9512 Ho-ho, however you want to play it is fine. Don't know why people are dragging their feet with the 59. There are hungry spectators with very few meals to coin a phrase. Thanks for the starter, lol. Andy.
I'm a fan of both model railways and real life railways, spending hours on the real railways in my job travelling the country, but the sounds on model railways currently, just dont reflect what you would be hearing in real life.
Beautiful layout. A cabride on the Peak would be great. Even a ride in a coach.

Great modells, great modell railway, have a great deal of fun with it.
Stunning - hyper realistic and superb execution.
Great video I do love the log burner bet it's nice and warm in that man cave cheers Paul

What makes it for me is the detail in the 4 foot ..the little tufts and shrubs...amazing 👍
Awesome presentation.
Thank you Dave, appreciated. Welcome to the channel. Regards Julian
Looking forward to mine arriving, great video
Where did you get the 'Village of Mells' loco from as I cannot find it on the Web ?
Just seen your comment re the Dapol website - is there enough space to fit sound in the smoke version of the loco ??
I pre-ordered it direct from Dapol's home website as it seemed the only way to get the factory fitted sound. They haven't any for sale on that site at the moment! Hatton's and Rails of Sheffield have the DCC ready and DCC fitted models in stock now. Regards Julian
Great video, super realistic scenary and a nice loco.

Looks excellent. I seem to recognise those Lima pta at the back. I'm wondering if I sold them to you a few years back 🙂

Great video and you have an awesome layout. Just subscribed 👍
Impressive! Heard you draw breath to speak then it ended up on the cutting room floor lol. Andy.
