No we never considered a Fleming because of the hull design. While it takes (much) longer to get to where we’re going, a stabilized displacement hull can’t be beat for sea keeping/safety and efficiency. It also helps to have a full keel so we worry a bit less about hitting things like logs or other debris that damage running gear.
@@havaseas Thank you for the response! Yes makes sense, I was just curious as I love Mr Fleming's videos and on the East Coast a a faster boat seems best. Safe travels. PS-I recall YachTec loved the 50 and 57, said its was the best models!
A big part of the reason is cost. The N55 was an expensive boat. These boats take maintenance and upkeep. We didn’t need a boat that was that big so this made sense.
