😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 opening a can of worms with this one. If people only knew how many parts that are marked with USA were made by OEM factories elsewhere

A component being made in Taiwan is a bragging right! Having obsolete information on the catalog or web site is shameful though. Knowing to watch out for the metric vs imperial bushing and shaft sizes is a great thing you point out. Where are Bourns pots made? I personally like Ohmeg from England

Thanks. I especially liked the weaselly two sentence implication made by the company at the end of the video.
The prices for those original CTS pots you showed are delusional but I suppose wealthy tech bros who played some guitar in high scholl will fall for it.

It is dishonest to state or imply that they are made in USA, but anything that is not made in China is to be encouraged. Taiwan is an independant democracy constantly threatened by China, its security is heavily supported by the USA. In a previous post you have established that made in USA (Gibson) is not always a guarantee of perfection.

They're made in Korea, so is bourns, and so on there's no potentiometer companies left in America..
Same with hardware 98% of it is made in Korea unless it specifically states made in the usa..
Grover, Fender, all made in Korea anything stamped with PW is Korean..
Most pickups are Korean even super famous and well known "American" brands are manufactured in Korea and shipped here..
If people really knew how cheap and cut throat guitar manufacturers, parts manufacturers, pickup manufacturers really were they'd lose their minds..
We've been lied to for decades! It's all clever marketing they say things like vintage, warm, adds definition and clarity, doesn't get muddy, and so on and people pay for the lies..
I've disassembled a multitude of pickups and so on and I can tell you from actual experience the only differences are magnets, nickel plated slugs and pole pieces, and nickel steel baseplates and pole piece spacers that's it..
The wire is identical 78%-85% on USA, Korean, Chinese pickups..
There's literally only a handful of copper wire manufacturers that's product is suitable for pickups, let that sink in,only a handful people think these Asian manufacturers use "different or inferior" wire 😂😂😂 it's the same.. I know I've taken many pickups apart... The guitar industry is a giant con, they know people tone chase and are willing to spend the money to but the stuff so these companies sell people with some and mirrors..
And this is the story with every single part manufactured..
And even bleeds over into amplifiers, people spend 2k+ on tube amps manufactured in the USA or England but don't realize that the majority of those parts in those amps are rebranded Korean or Chinese parts especially tubes the majority of tube are made in China and sent places to be rebranded and sold as something they're not..
Who's going to check something like that? That's how they get away with it...
Yup we're all being screwed, the only company I know of that openly admits to using Korean parts and actually labels them as such is Fender, everyone else just slaps their name on it and doesn't even tell you where they're made... Like I said if it doesn't specify made in the USA it's definitely Korean or Chinese...
