- Graphic novels rose to prominence in the late 1980s as a fresh creative outlet for comic book artists and writers, allowing them to explore richer narratives and more mature themes. New authors continue to use the medium in creative ways, and in this Full Sail University panel, comic book professionals and fans discuss their passion for the artform, and the opportunities it provides for storytellers.

This was great, not 4 the advice of on creating a graphic novel, but the fact that their advice implies to everything creative books, games, scripts/films, comics/graphic novels. Is all about writing, creating, making the dream real, pitching, rewriting, feedback, and simply getting it out there and growing a pair at accepting the reality obstacle which is call rejection.
Wow. It is so great to see this panel again after a few years. I feel the beautiful truth of their talks much stronger with the passage of time....really....a nostalgia for the past which I could not quite grasp at the time. Love is all you need, as the Beatles sang.

The guy on the right says he's there because as a screenwriter he was told his work was a good fit for graphic novels, so he "trained" for the genre over the last 6 months?
