- Heavitree B&B in Griswold, Connecticut is a magical place. This 18th Century home sits on more than 140 acres of lush farmland. Charlotte Geer runs this wonderful bed and breakfast and it was her ancestors who settled on the land in 1635 from Heavitree, England. The original structure was a tavern located in Rhode Island which had plans to be destroyed to make way for new construction. At this time, Charlotte was looking for an early home to compliment her family's historic farm land. When you walk through the doors you are taken back in time yet you have all the modern amenities of today.

Mrs. Greer was the best part of this tour. So sweet and passionate about her incredible home. She is the reason I will visit this lovely B&B 🤩🌟

I was watching this video while having my lunch, I literally dropped my sandwich on the floor when the host started enumerating all her relatives living around... God! This is living!!!!!!!!!!

Very very interesting. Lucky to have family living so close on a big farm. Clever idea to hide the modern light switches and electric outlets and stove. Sorry, but the background music is a distraction.

This was just stunning to witness such a long family history being so lovingly looked after and memorialized. I would love to stay at her b&b, although the waiting list must be quite long. Blessings to her and to her family for the preservation efforts they have put in, but especially Mrs. Geer herself. Bravo!

Charlotte looks and sounds like Diane Keaton.❤️ This visit was delightful. I would feel comfortable living there as a home. I love the Geer family bible story, the large rabbit portrait, that the farm grows Christmas trees, and that her siblings have their own places to live on the farm. I would imagine the weddings are fun there with very beautiful photo opportunities.❤️

I live in the Christmas tree capital of Canada. I have only sold wild unsheared trees off my off-grid farm but also sold lots of wreaths to Boston etc.

I have a set of Wedgwood, Charlotte! China that was made in England. I do come across old Bibles. Thank God they are blank! I love the way you hide the light switches!

This is a beautiful tour but It dawned on me that around minute 3:51 the music got really annoying, and distracting..... But a wonderful story nonetheless!

I salute the attempt to recreate a colonial inspired house! Parlor is fine but the Victorian grand piano is not quite in harmony with the rest furnishings. A square pianoforte or a small clavichord would be more appropriate. In whole very nice 👌

As a literary scholar who works in archives...she should not leave the Bible open like that. I know she's propping it up with a book underneath. And perhaps she is only temporarily displaying the Bible in that manner just for the tour. But for viewing in archives, books are held up with two triangular pieces of foam: They serve to support the spine.
