...lovely video...bottom bunks are really quite comfy, and the windows add cool views of the countryside...will try the train next time going to Chiang Mai...safe journeys.
Oh yes the train is great 😊
Thank-you for the shout out for libertyhair salon woolston
Best Salon 💇♀️ in Southampton England 🏴😃🥰
Loved the video
Thank you 🙏
That was cool you got to have a bed on a train 😊
Yes it was a great way to travel
Well you made that journey look easy - you are getting too good at this travelling lark ! Arriving with hours to spare, not getting lost, finding taxis and luggage storage, then getting a discount on your trip to the nice hostel room. Jolly well done Nan !! Looking forward to seeing what it is about Chiang Mai you's been so excied about .... :-)
Yes I almost couldn’t believe I managed all that without getting lost!!! 🤣
Have fun on your adventures Sonja, the food looks delish xx love your Aussie Friend
Thanks 🙏
Lot of people reported that the train is too shaky not much possible to sleep. I may fly to CM..
I wanted to do it for the experience. I’m so glad I did as much more relaxing than flying.
...the upper bunk is most difficult to sleep on, and it's quite cold because of the centralized a/c. i tried it on a Bangkok to Padang Besar train. best sleeping bunk is the bottom one.
Really enjoying your VLOGS Sonja, watching your travels with interest from New Zealand - keep em coming girl
You are so very kind thank you so much for following my adventures. 🥰
I’m trying to get to 1000 subscribers so if you think any of your friends or family might enjoy please share with them. Thanks again my video out today is cookery school in Chiang Mai I hope you enjoy it 🥰
The train made in China 🇨🇳.
It was a good trip I hope to do it again soon 😃
But you didn't do it cabin class or first class so much better
I did tourist class. It was comfortable apart from the air conditioning was really cold.
Liberty Hair, in Victoria road , Woolston. I was born and raised in Woolston !!!!!
It’s right on the High Street. It used to be Trevor Mitchells, but she bought it a number of years ago and change the name to Liberty Hair. Fantastic hair salon
@@nanwithabackpack what a coincidence, we lived in Manor Road, and back in the early 60’s, my dad used to take me round the corner to “ Mitches” to get my hair cut, I remember Trevor Mitchell , he was a lovely guy, he used to put a plank of wood across the seat, to bring me up to a better height, of course Trevor went on to fortune and fame as hairdresser to the stars. When we went back to the UK on 2015, my missus took a pic of me in front of the shop, lovely memories from long ago.
@@tonypothecary2759 Oh please please can you send me the picture if you have a copy. Wow yes what a small world.
My best friend bought the salon from Mr Mitchell. Unfortunately he passed away a couple years ago yes he was a lovely man. nanwithabackpack@gmail.com
Have sent pics on your Instagram messages xx
@@tonypothecary2759 thank you 🙏
Hi, love your vlogs. What was the name of the hostel?
I stayed at two on this occasion the first one was called “60 Blue House” it was ok but no air conditioning and it was so hot I then moved up the road to “Love CNX Guesthouse” I really liked this place.
My second visit to Chiang Mai I stayed closer to the markets. The hostels are not in this video but I think on balance I preferred them as they were in a better location for me.
Grrrrr one I can’t remember the name but I stayed there for a month I know it’s in one of my videos so do check it out as it was very nice large private room. The other was a little hostel called “Just Chill Inn” I stayed there a month as well. Again though no air conditioning.
I hope this helps? I can’t wait to get back to Chiang Mai.
I love Annie’s and the Irish bar!!!
@@nanwithabackpack thanks for the info. I watched all your videos last year when I was travelling but I’m planning a different route this time so watching again.
Have amazing time. I’m in borneo now and it’s wonderful hopefully heading back to Thailand in a few months 🥰
@@nanwithabackpack that sounds exciting. I had to check where it was. I’ll be in Malaysia in July so I’ll watch your vlog and see what it’s like. Enjoy the rest of your travels, maybe we’ll pass paths one day X
Thank you so much!!
You explained and your recommendations were very helpful.💕👍
