Clearly, if the likes of us are being encouraged to "invest", the owners of this art expect its value to plummet.
@@6yjjk If they're offering it to the public then they know it's overvalued and are looking for an exit chump to dump on. Same with stocks and crypto.
Looks to me; a new investing bubble is coming; art works. Also, is Masterworks as regulated as FTX?
I would suggest picking up sponsors that are not likely to defraud your subscribers in the future
Hmm.... a comment with alot of likes, that caused alot of controversy. I Wonder what it said?
Isn't that the seabed?
@@TheB1M shhhh, let em believe
@@TheB1M I believe this is referencing how ludicrous it is that the largest aquarium is in the middle of the dessert where water is so precious.
@@TheB1M Cynically meant, the desert under water. This means dry sand and 50 degrees of sun light. The world upside down! @user-my2ix6bo5z👍👍👍👍
the seabed doesnt get rained on so it must be a desert by classification
Watching this after the giant 1M liter aquarium in Berlin broke. I worry for those fish.
Berlin used China material
One omission is that the strength of the windows only needs to be proportional to how deep they are in the aquarium (and of course the shape of the window itself). The volume of the aquarium by itself is irrelevant to the pressure exerted on the sidewalls.
@UC15LudaAQ2pPq3gyFNQK7gw Volume-preserving transformations of shapes are, you know, possible. Let me put it another way: The same volume can be achieved in many different shapes. A wide and long, but very shallow pool can have the same volume as a narrow and short, but very deep pool. Windows put at the bottom edge of the walls of each pool will not experience the same pressure.
How utterly pathetic. Once again animas fish in this case are going to be caged for bloated people with a load of money can geek st them. What a lot of sick selfish entitled nothings
I think that this is a pretty pointless nitpicking comment. It's quite obvious if you've ever been to an aquarium or just, you know, watched the video, that viewing platforms are often located at the bottom of the aquariums. Thus requiring maximum pressure threshold for the total volume of the aquarium.
@@kepler656 Well, no. It's not pointless nitpicking, as you've just demonstrated you missed the whole point. The total volume of the aquarium is almost irrelevant. The depth is relevant. Thus, pointing out that an aquarium is so-and-so liters in volume is not relevant when discussing the challenges in construction of a strong enough viewing window.
Thanks for exactly demonstrating my point, though
The irony of the largest aquarium in a desert.
Next they'll build the world's largest waterpark and _really_ screw themselves over for the rest of the century.
Only makes sense as the population has more need for water park like in central North America
Funny thing is Fishes Float in Oil 🗿
They’re a coastal country so where is the irony here?
I can't take the world serious at all anymore.
Trump, Qatar, etc. It is a big shit show and impossible to take serious.
What seemed like South Park stories is real life in 2020's.
If we, humans, are going to have things like zoo's and aquariums, then I do want them to be so large that for the animals involved, there's virtually no distinction between nature and where they are, with the only real difference being the ease of people's access to viewing them. So an aquarium like this does look pretty cool, and assuming they aren't putting in any creatures way too big or incapable of survival in there, then I would be down to see it if I were ever actually in the region.
Those are called wild life preserves….
The power consumption and maintenance of it is exorbitant, and possible a risk that more will be spent than earned
@@jaysonhuckaby6323 but would you call this aquarium a wild life preserve? I wouldn't, but I would say it is -seemingly- large and well design enough to suffice. Wild life preserves are the ideal, but this giant aquarium does make me think of the other types of "zoo's" that you could have that I don't know if they would honestly ever qualify as a wild life preserve.
this is no where near large enough for certain spieces of fish.
All the animals in this tank are caught in the wild and the high death rates demand constant replenishment. No tank is big enough for a manta ray.
The B1M does an outstanding job producing quality product! The topics, editing, direction, script, visuals, audio, dialogue, narration… far exceeds the majority of videos on construction available on any platform. Much appreciation for achieving greatness!
The production of this channel sets the gold standard of immersive storytelling. Keep up the great work Fred and team.
I worked on the engineering, it is good to see that they have finally financed the job, the acrylic panels will weigh 260tn +
Ah good. More plastic that'll break in due time.

I once owned a 24 x 12 inch fish tank with a water filter and heating system so I understand the complexity of undertaking a project at scale such as this.
When did the Olympic swimming pool become a unit of measurment? I've never seen one, and most others haven't either, so I have no idea how much water that really is. 😊
same here
americans use Olympic pools to measure liquids the same way they use football fields to measure area and blue whales to measure weight
I think it's relatable that's why he used it
Just for context, an Olympic swimming pool is pretty big in person. 50 metres long, 25m wide and 2m deep
@@nuwanthakumara6121 I'm pretty sure they updated whales to jumbo jets.
Not sure if just me or if a universally shared view here, but that Liam Marsh has an incredible voice. Thanks for the content lads love the podcast from a pure construction nuffie. Look forward to what is upcoming!
you might be the only channel i watch every video all the way through. thank you for good content
seems just as great as building a ski&ice resort in Arizona!
well in all fairness they do have a ski resort in dubai mall lol
Arizona actually has decent skiing lol
Arizona has a lot of great skiing
There's a ski resort in Dubai, but it's not good. Iran has the best ski resorts in the Middle East.
you know there 3 different skiing resorts in az one in flagstaff ine on mt baldy and one on mt lemmon
With all that is going on with FTX and the increased scrutiny of influencer sponsorships, I would be weary of promoting Masterworks. I am not saying this to call you out, but rather to say that you should be careful about sponsorships that simply seem too good to be true; which I feel Masterworks is. I have seen their ads on multiple channels now, and their strategy perfectly fits the strategy of other shady actors.
Please please please listen to this @b1m
i lived in abu dhabi for 8 months, honestly one of the most uncomfortable places to live, too many rules, too little freedom, they love to fine and charge you for everything, constant feeling of being watched, government bodies are extremely unhelpful or worse if you ever need something, it's honestly so weird, they build all these huge record breaking places and don't really expect anyone to enjoy being there, dubai was much nicer
I totally agree. I find it weird that these backwards countries want to show how “advanced” they are by building the biggest “X”, but still arrest gay people. Or don’t allow unmarried couples to live together. Very strange
I live there too, and I have no idea what are you talking about😂 Can you elaborate on "little freedom, fine and charges and government are unhelpful" ?
@@cloudypac your country is ran by tyrants who aid in genocide. nuff said
@@sneauxday7002 haha when you have nothing to say, you just drop the most random sh*t "aid in genocide"?
Citizen here have the best quality of life, skyrocket salaries, free education, free healthcare, free housing and much much more. Nonetheless they are rated as one of the most happiest people. This country is super safe where you can leave anything and come back to find it later, no crimes and super friendly culture.
Now tell me where you are from and let me lecture you about your country😂
Probably cause it’s the administrative district. I got the same vibe when I visited, place felt a whole lot less lively than Dubai
They should just build long corridors on the ocean floor. It would be the biggest aquarium.
good idea my gut tells me the bill would be in the trillions do you have any great ideas on funding ????
@@stevenherrold5955 You don't need to build a corridor across the entire ocean. You just need a little extension along the shore. A few hundred feet at most. Should be cheaper than building this aquarium.
And boring cause the sea life density would be far lower than in an artificial aquarium
@@KanyeTheGayFish69 That's easy. You just leave some fish food around. It will be full of fish in no time.
Next time: Antartica decides to build the world's largest tanning salon
im disappointed that no one is clowning on Seaworld for its track record. well not having orcas is a great start
Seaworld really are scum.
Why stop at SeaWorlds horrific treatment of animals? Abu Dhabi doesn't have a good track record of _human rights,_ of course animal rights don't matter to them.
You just have to laugh and hold your head in your hands at having the worlds largest aquarium in the middle of the desert
middle eastern oil kingdoms are something else man
It isn’t; it’s right near the coast.
What exactly is funny about it? You’re aware the UAE is a coastal country right?
It's not the most absurd thing ever, because all that water will stay there. It's not as rediculous as building a golfcourse which are _the_ worst.
This channel consistently puts out incredible vids
I wasn't expecting the sudden Mission Impossible reference, but I'm all for it!
They even included a Simpsons clip for the Vogtle Nuclear Plant.
As always incredible content Fred!
What, has no problem discussing controversy in other videos but when it comes to SeaWorld, a problem not relevant to the success? Riiight
Thank you so much all your videos , I always watch and so much learn a lot , I now addicted watch your videos all the times
" 'I am Ozymandias, King of Kings. Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair' Nothing beside remains around the decay of that colossal wreck. Boundless and bare the lone and level sands stretch far away"
The Georgia Aquarium is stunning and I grew up going to the Tennessee Aquarium. I hope I can see this one one day.
You have same experience as me for aquariums.
SeaWorld, ah yes. The one sea life quarium company that doesn't have a good track record for keeping animals in good condition. There will be no orcas, _so I guess that's one of their lawsuits already handled._
+ Making a giant aquarium in the middle of an arid/hot climate condition area is a _questionable decision, to say the least_ (the crowd will be there as a first time visitor but I'm not sure if it's sustainable)
*I'm sure this will not get deserted within 8 years.*
Probably built with slave labor.... :/
Abud dhabi is next to the coast . Its a coastal city
@@johnsamuel1999 I know, if they ended up planning to make a pipe from the sea to the facility .... that would be a waste of money. Why not just built it in a plot of land that's next to the sea in the first place?
Wtf are you even talking about, have you even ever been to Abu Dhabi? Or you're just talking nonsense
@@billiehart I've been there, yes particularly Yas island, which this was supposed to be located. I mean i can give it the benefit of the doubt that this would have an actual sea water pipe circulation (i know there's a canal nearby, but how great is the sea water quality within the canal really?)
Great video as always.
Incredible
Video starts at 4:41
Very cool, thank you!
I swear, just by reading the video title you know its in the UAE.
Any title with this format "The World’s Biggest [insert anything]" must be built in the UAE.
Wow this is crazy!!!
Rip to the large marine animals they will inevitably fail to keep here.
Seaworld absolutely suck. There's a documentary about them showing how they "care" for their animals.
@@matmul4850 I went to seaworld inside Legoland the other day, Being a avid reefer i wondered how they kept some of there more diffucult fish alive like the moorish idol's. The guy without skipping a beat just said they had new ones dilivered all the time.. I was quite shocked how little he seemed to care.
They don't even care about human rights and Abu Dhabi, slavery is A-okay for these rich, tasteless, asses. I'm sure they're happy to host SeaWorld's cruel animal circuses.
@@The1NdNly Wow that is sickening. Thanks for sharing.
@@The1NdNly You mean a Sea Life center? SeaWorld does not work alongside Legoland... Legoland is ran by Merlin Entertainments and so is Sea Life, so they put Sea Life centers in the theme parks. SeaWorld is ran by SeaWorld Entertainments
Some of the highest quality videos on UA-cam, could be a series on TV. The underwater tunnel one was epic too, had interviews and everything. Good job, keep it up!
The B1m is the my favourite you tube channel
I was for sure you were going to say transparent aluminum. The space station has talked about installing this new product. Or maybe it’s not designed for pressure?
The under water seaworld beautiful best attraction special engineering design good works done B1M
Fascinating
Love me an Olympic pool comparison/analogy.
Very nice
You should do a video on how the Louvre project in Abu Dhabi worked out for Waagner Biró.
Let’s see if this project either makes a splash or gets washed out.
When’s someone gonna build the worlds largest terrarium? 🤔 That would be freakin cool.
This is how you solve rising sea levels: Dig a massive hole in the desert, flood it, and sell tickets. Disappointed that they haven't built a roller-coaster through the shark tank, but maybe they just haven't told us about that yet.
That was totally one of my shower thoughts recently "what if we just made the sea deeper to counteract climate change? How much seabed would we have to extract to put a dent in the problem?"
In Europe there is one that has 7,500,000 liters of water, it was considered the best in the world by Traveler's Choice in 2015 / 2017, among other awards. With a total area of twenty thousand square meters representing the Global Ocean, with eight thousand organisms, including animals and plants, of five hundred different species.
Its name is Oceanarium, it is located in Lisbon, Portugal. I have already visited it and it is simply fantastic, I recommend it too.
I missed the part regarding where the fish will come from and by what means.
“Are we close to the open ocean?”
"We can go through the pipes!"
The greatest channel ever!
Curious to see how these buildings will hold up in 100 years or will it become like venezuela. Old architecture isn't bad, but bad planning leads to bad architecture.
Abu Dhabi projects makes more sense than the Dubai ones!
Not realy
how? Surely they're all as rediculous as each other?
Love you bro
Gotta pay the bills, eh guys? :) nah all good. I really apprechiate all the content you guys make.
If your filmography is your own work, well done mate
Hate it when knowledgeable, professional channels give airtime to very irresponsible ads whilst not being economic experts. Dangerous thing to do to the financially vulnerable people of UA-cam
are you an economics expert?
I imagine Reynolds Polymer will be very much involved in the engineering and manufacturing of the Plexiglas structures. RP is the best!
Thanks to this video; it won't be a secret anymore. 🤣 🤣
World's largest this, world's tallest that, world's deepest that... at some point its a case of oil wealth having flown too high to get close to the sun. it's a bit much.
They’re trying to diversify their economy to move away from oil. Why are you so bothered?
The world's most useless building.
Good 👍😊
Why are they not using transparent aluminum instead of Plexiglass? We've had the formula since 1986.
Please make a video on Sydney's new art gallery..
Great video as always Abu Dhabi keeps pushing what a Themepark and museum can be.
From _B1M_ to _B&M._ Let's go shopping!
Subnautica themed aquarium would be a blast :)
Liam Marsh deserves an on screen role
Soon we''ll expect another Abu Dhabi video - Saadiyat Island: The island with 4 Museums!
I come here daily to view love content for some reason, hehe.
Seems a bit off to mention Shedd Aquarium instead of Georgia Aquarium?
When an aquarium becomes it's own biome
I actually never heard of anyone in my close proximity visiting any of the oil oligarks countries as tourists. So who goes there? other rich people? who would ever think to support slave labour or think the desert is a fun destination.
How on earth do you manufacture acrylic of that size?
4:50-4:58. Was this a scene 🎬 from the 1st ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie 🎦? Did that *aquarium* use glass windows 🪟 just so they could shatter?
It would appear so. Amateurs.

Couldn't even wait 30 seconds before making a water pun XD
I've been to the aquarium in Kuwait City... I'm not sure if I've been to one in Dubai or not... in the one in Kuwait City, I got scared of the spider areas
Shedd Aquarium is huge. Some animals in the huge tank is seen on NIGHTLY NEWS: KIDS EDITION.
No mention of Dubai Mall which has the world's largest acrylic panel at 245 tons or the one at Atlantis the palm? Although at 11 and ten million litres they are mere minnows compared to Abu Dhabi
You brought up Shedd but not Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta which is much larger and held the record for largest aquarium from 2005-2012.
Imagine one of these breaking while you’re looking at it like the one in Berlin… get the feeling they should kinda chill idk
...or they could just be built to a higher standard like all the other aquariums around the earth that haven't shattered.
I can't believe they're not using transparent aluminum yet!
Thanks for bringing this content, eager to see the new Sea World.
They should've make it look like a real life "Rapture" from Bioshock!!
this is yaba daba duuuu
Great engineering - but like so many of these projects - do we really need it? There's a perfectly good ocean out there, we just need to stop abusing that too.
It's cool, but will you revisit the subject when there's more details about it? As this wasn't much but a glorified commercial
Living in Emirates, This is no big news.
