Dude, I've been on the fence about this tent for a bit. This vide totally convinced me and we just ordered one. Thanks for all the extra tips, especially the rainfly hack with the shock cord.
I cut a pool noodle, in about 1 - 2 foot pieces, put a slit in it, and put it over the bottom of the guy strings. It makes it much easier to see them, they stay on really well and you don't have to worry about them getting wet - you can use them for other things as needed. (If you have a bucket you can put a bag in and put one around the rim for a porta-potty seat, you can string 4 together and use them around a cooler to float it if you go tubing, you can put it around fishing rods to keep them from tangling together... so many uses.) Pool noodles and duct tape can solve a lot of problems.
I love this video. I have had the Gazelle T4 Plus and I actually removed the tub floor from the screened area and use an indoor/outdoor rug there with lawn chairs and a table. The pointer I want to give, I picked up a bunch of little plastic beads for those "friction strings". These pieces look like the teeth of a shark. They have a hole that I threaded the straight string through and tied it off. Then simply push them through the loop. I also use them on the interior divider.
@@rickwolfram5336 first, that floor idea as a rug is brilliant! Second, and also brilliant, is using those plastic pieces! I will def be trying both these suggestions! Thanks!
Cool video bro! I'm thinking of getting the Overland edition but then also thinking I should just get a roof top for my Tundra. Keep the videos and updates coming!
on the friction loops - after you go through the loop wrap the tag end under the tight side of the line. like you are starting to tie a shoe. It will friction lock on it self instead of the flap. This works really well on my T4 Plus. Great tent too btw!
Thanks for showing the full set up, solo. I'm ready to replace an older Turbo-tent which set up super-fast, but now leaks......and the Gazelle looks like the best replacement.
Great job. This is the best review of a Gazelle tent I’ve seen. You would think all the Overland shills given free gear would at least try and do a good job of reviewing products. I’ve had a Gazelle T3X for about 3 years and love it. The T4X was too long and took up too much space in my Subaru plus, usually it’s just me and my dog so the T3X was a good compromise. BTW, ditch the air mattress and get some cots and 3” or thicker sleeping pads or memory foam mattresses. Absolute, game changer.
I appreciate you and your feed back. Im hoping to do more reviews soon in the same style. The T3x is also an excellent size option. I thought of getting one for when im solo/w just my dog as well
Good video! I have the t4 and a gazelle screen tent and its just me and my dog lol. Used the screen tent all over, I tent camp a lot from Glacier to Joshua Tree and Big Bend in Texas. Just got the T4 and used it in the Tetons, Glacier and Medicine Bow area. I have no complaints!
I took this tent to the Magdalena islands in quebec that has lots of wind (kite surf paradise..) i love it, only little thing i had to do is put some poles to enforce the middle part. The wind overthere avrg 20 to 30 knots and blows from every side, the to side was moving in and popped out but i made sure it stayed out. Did i put guy lines yes and i used the hooks and 12 inch spikes.. even guy line the fly. It haddle that wind like a champ, lots of other campers took their tent down ours was perfect. My gf loves glamping so the sleeping area had the coleman queen cot airbed and we had a small table and inflatable intex chair, felt like a chalet. Love it
I *just* went with the T4 Overland and not the plus. I hope I have enough space as I'm disabled and space is a huge benefit for me, but I definitely would love to upgrade to a plus at some point so I can "stretch out" if you will! Love the video! I appreciate seeing you set it up. I think I could *probably* do this solo still.
I dont open the floor to set up the poles. I just put them into the bottom corners. Role those window covers into themselves to prevent water from pooling.
I roll the window flaps (Clam shelter, not Gazelle) under so that if it rains the water doesn't collect in the rolled up fabric. :) More important than how it looks.
Did you continue keeping the rain fly attached? I'm just wondering if it makes getting the collapsed tent small enough to get back into the storage bag....or impedes the process of folding it up again.
Nice video! So the gazebo side walls and front door side have zippers and velcro? Asking because I want to know if it sealed enough to run a ac or heater in the tent ⛺️
Hey i think the side walls seal enough but i think the problem would be heat/cool escaping through the roof...the rain fly over the top does not seal or come down to the ground... kit kinds just covers the mesh top like a mushroom.
@@campthropology I have a T4 tent and I just throw a tarp and a blanket over then I add the rain fly on top of that. I was just wanted to make sure that the door panels and the gazebo side zip up. Thanks!
Hi, would you say this tent stays warm without any heaters? I’m wondering if the open mesh on top would make it too cold if I were to camp near water where it gets cold at night during summer
@@lilyshhh4 I felt this tent stayed pretty warm considering how much wind we had on the night filming this. I was super surprised. My concern if you’re camping next to water would be condensation in the air. If it’s coming down I don’t think it would be a problem but just humid air might be a little much for the open top even with the rain fly on. If I ever I’m in that situation with it I’ll keep that in mind and report back
Hey Man. I'm concerned about the gaps where the front door meets the floor and the corners of the sunroom where the poles meet the floor. What do you think? Are any ants or critters getting in?
Honestly that’s a concern of mine as well. I’ve used the tent a handful of times and haven’t hand anything get in. I did try to pinch the Velcro spots you’re talking about and seal the Velcro as snug as possible. If I find a better solution I’ll update
@@campthropology I never watched the whole video no. 1 since I couldn't stop laughing at the foot print and 61 pound struggle! Plus I hit the do not recommend! Did not hit like and will never subscribe! Yet carry on!
ANOTHER LONG COMMENT?! You’re such a good feeder. Too easy! You do as you’re told, that’s great. Can we get one more or you gonna know your place and keep to your self?! 🎣

Awesome! Glad it helped! I was on the fence a long time too! So I tried to make a vid that I wanted to see haha

ill def try that! i appreciate the tips!
I do same and at night a cheap glow stick in the noodle
I love this tent. I have the T4 Overland in green and use it as a base camp.
I wanted that edition but couldn’t find one!
Very informative. You gave the best presentation on this tent that I've seen and little tips as you went along with a update.😊

Love this tent. Pirate approved 🏴☠️
I like the Luci lights for the interior lighting!
They work so well. This is the 40ft versions. It’s great bc you can detach the hub to charge via solar or plug without taking down all the lights

We just got ours Tuesday and will be using it this weekend. Thanks for the tips.
Let us know how the tent holds up?

No prob! I’ve only taken it out a few times but it’s a tank of a tent (if guylines are used)

T4 is also a solid option!
I think the plus will be better for you if your mobility disabled as it has a full door not just the d shaped door

FYI- if you use the included guy ropes on the 4 corners of the tarp you can attach them straight down to the stakes already securing the tent corners
thats a great tip. i will def try that next time i bust out this tent!
thanks!
Great camp, I would just like to add that I can fit mine into my 3-door Vauxhall Corsa, diagonally 😂of course. ❤

Think you can probably set it up in 90 sec technically…. but if the wind is blowing at all it’s bye bye tent hah

Be nice to come in different colors other than blaze Orange
I agreen. I think the Overlanding version comes in like a forest greeen but its hard to find.
Due to the removable floor did u have a problem with bugs?
I have not. But it is a concern. I try and make sure the Velcro is sealed tight

Do you have links to the d rings and guylines? I like the system you have set up
So those D rings snapped 😕. So I went with these and they have been solid amzn.to/4e2LpOH
And these are my favorite guylines. Super bright and also reflective amzn.to/3wJVyit
@@campthropology Thank you!!!
Do they sell an add on screen room, the Gazelle tent?..or did you have to buy a whole new set up?
Thanks
With gazelle you have to buy it whole as is … I think FRS makes the hub tent which you can add the awning room/car attachment.
What is that lighting system you used inside of the tent?
I use the Mpowered Luci String Lights...the 40ft new version
Where were you camped?
South part of Cleveland National Forest in CA
My concern too any of u is does this tent leak or sweat?
not yet. will report of it does
Literally man 😅😅😅
Laughing.... dude your a terrible tent person. Don't quit your day job!
Ain’t about the tents. It’s about getting the feeders like you to feed my algorithm. Batting 100% w you, homie.
