Two of my favorite chefs growing up, so glad to see that they are still cooking and loving life. Ever since I saw Jacques cook the French Omelet I have been cooking that way every day until I made it look and possibly taste the same. It took many many mornings but I think I finally got it, thank you so much for bringing the joy of cooking to my life. I am a better cook because of you.
grew up watching both. love it. the secret is always to make the omelette with butter instead of other oils. I gotta try this. I like the dynamic between the two.
This is far removed from the processes of the full episode, and much shorter. If you can find the full 25 minute episode (S12E01). you will be greatly rewarded.
a metal spoon into a Teflon pan!?!? oh noo Jaques. u only damage the Teflon that way and release small particles of Teflon into the food. i know cause my Teflon wok is full of small holes now. where did all that Teflon go? into my food of course.
@@robl6189 that is right. i buy cheap pans that will hold for a few years then toss them. but recently i bought a high-quality pan and even that does not recommend using metal utensils in order to protect its coating.
I do this quite often on my $30 oxo non stick and there is no damage to the teflon if you are delicate. I believe what Jacques is doing is stirring through the curds while only minimally touching the bottom of the pan. If you rewatch the video you'll see the scraping sound is from the bottom outside of the pan scraping the stove, not from the metal fork.
Jacques' daughter was the most annoying part of his show. In the 90's and early 2000's, I used to watch Jacques, just about every Saturday, on a local PBS station. After 2003, I watched Ming, whenever I could. Two great chefs that enjoy food.
alright relax his daughter's fine. you can tell that he's a fantastic family man. for us to see an occasional glimpse into his life, i thought was a great thing for his fans!
Ming is very humble and showed great respect to the master.
Ming is a master, himself :)
It is very Awesome to see the BEST show such true Respect towards each other.
The comment sections on Ming's videos are always refreshingly positive. =]

He is a very good cook and nice guy he reached over and hugged him and Ming didn't expect it
He makes it look so easy but this omelette is one of the hardest things to master. Heat management is so important in this.
You’re right I feel the same way with pancakes
I love Jacques!! As a kid, I love watching Jacques and Julia cooking together! He looks great!
+tinkerbellarina 80 years old
Strange..... you don't look a day over 40.
No matter how many videos I’ve seen of Jacques making omelets, I watch them all and like the all.
I love the friendship these two share.... It is such a joy to watch!
Ming Tsai and Jacques Pepin-- nice ring !
Two of my favorite chefs! Jacques gives Ming a hug. I guess they are really friends.

may I politely say the secret is to UNDER cook your eggs. Pull them off way early and get used to Heaven. Add cheese. You're welcome.
Best team up ever.
Jacque my favorite tv chef.

The best teaches one of the best
Ming, you are a MASTER too!
I remember watching east meets west. Ming looks so old now.
I love Jacques and Ming together.
Jacques
I could do that when making a French Omelette.
c'est si bon!!!!
Jacques is looking good.:)
Man alot of bromance!!
Use slow fire, lots of butter.
Do you have to use a non stick pan?
No, but it would be slightly more difficult with other pans.
Fairwall to the teflon :)
What Teflon? You think a world class chef cooks on Walmart cookware?
apparently, if you look at 60% of the commentators they all think teflon is the standard with world class chefs! LOL
@@Fan_Made_Videos Apparently people don't realize that while All-Clad doesn't use the brand Teflon, it's still a PTFE coated pan.
Arlysimplyming
youre gonna scratch the teflon haha

CT2507 you’re not using a high quality pan if your pan comes apart with a metal utensil.

When you’ve been a world class chef for 70 years, then you can criticize. Until then, I’ll take his word over anyone else’s.

@@crazygangrel Being a world class chef doesn't magically change the durability of a nonstick coating.

Ahh.. Stop scratching off the teflon!!
Julia would be arrogant enough to argue with a real chef.
