Problem may come from Procreate recognizing only one one pen while you have 2 connected. Have you tried erasing the Crayon from the iPad ? Since the Pencil Pro works everywhere but in Procreate, the problem stems from Procreate. Not the iPad nor the Pencil Pro.
I had the exact same issue. New pencil pro on new M4 iPad Pro was basically unusable. As one commenter mentioned I completely shut off my iPad and restarted and that seemed to fix the issues. But I’m still wondering where is the calligraphy brush in Freeform and notes? Did apple get rid of those brushes?

Procreate works fine with my Apple Pencil Pro. The squeeze gesture does not work but they did state in their most recent update on the App Store it was coming soon. I'll add that I wish this would have been available from the start.
I just started getting a very similar issue 😢 I got it yesterday and set it all up and everything worked great. Then this afternoon it started to seriously lag. It is pretty much unusable. This is unacceptable as I got the thing for professional art work 😡

It’s not just you, and it’s *not* just Procreate, it doesn’t work with other apps as well. I bought it with a new iPad Pro M4. Did all the suggested fixes, and it’s not the Pencil because I have 2 and doesn’t work with either. I also exchanged the new iPad Pro which didn’t fix it either. Thank you for showing the crayons works, I’ll return the Apple Pencils and try the crayon. Apple pencils have always worked for me in the past but this is unusable
I've got the 13 inch M2 air and pencil pro and it does draw, just lags behind the pencil a few seconds in drawing, has messed up pressure sensitivity, and wont draw for a stroke less than three inches long in physical space. Works fine with my finger and stuff, just the pencil pro, and just procreate, any other apps i've tested work. Procreate is working on an update for full support but it feels like they shouldn't be having issues with it doing what previous pencils could do already, and yet I've seen a lot of people have either the issue I'm having or yours of not drawing at all.
Not sure if you found a fix but apparently it's an issue with the magnets in whatever case you are using. If you go into Settings>Display and turn off auto lock/unlock when the case is closed/opened it should eliminate the issue
I am having issues with my M4 iPad Pro and pencil pro with procreate as well, my issue is lag related in procreate where other apps work fine. Basically I can draw a circle in procreate and it doesn’t show up until after I have completed the circle.

I have been looking for someone on the internet who has been experiencing the same issue and hoping for a solution. I just bought my first ever brand new 13 inch iPad Pro M4 & Apple Pencil Pro 2, & I just downloaded procreate for the first time in my life and I have tried forgetting the pencil from my iPad and I have tried changing settings in procreate and on iPad for the pencil. I tried closing and restarting procreate and I tried turning off my iPad and turning it back on. I tried tightening the nib or tip, I tried taking it completely off and putting it back on. I got it to work a couple times to create a couple drawings in the beginning and I noticed at first it would stop working when I switched between brush tools or eraser or if expanded my split screen view of another app and went back to drawing. Now it won’t work at all. It does work in Apple notes just not procreate. I just figured it was me because I am new and maybe I just don’t understand how it works, but I can’t seem to find any solutions anywhere online. I’m really disappointed and I hope there is a solution. I have only had my devices for a couple weeks and have just been watching UA-cam videos to learn how everything functions.

Go into settings the gear wrench or maybe the one next to it. Go to the GESTURES. After turning on the drawing assist it shod work. And even after turning it off after initially switching on it some how solves this issue.
nah, Hella people are having problems with it in procreate. Mine personally is having a FAT delay problem when drawing but only at the beginning of a stroke. it is unusable. thank you for getting the word out. i was tight after dropping 3k on the set up just to have it not work.
Ive been having the same exact problem with my apple pen. I had originally got the logi pen because it felt more comfortable to use however when I tried to go back to the apple pencil it just didnt work on procreate at all. I though it was my pencil so I tried using a few of my friends and still nothing changed.

I've used an iPad air 4 and Apple pencil 2 and had often the issue that the pencil randomly wouldn't work. Usually it send registered the pencil when I attached into the magnetic charging stop, but the battery indicator would be missing. It was such an annoying system and usually only a cold reboot of the iPad would help. I think this was / is an iPad OS Bug that afffects some people randomly. I sometimes had a month where it didn't happen at all, and then months where it happened several times a week and in worst times several times a day. But not just in ProCreate. A friend also keeps having issues with her Apple Pencil 2. She's now on her third pencil... To me it's an unreliable product that can be very annoying when it fails in important moments. Especially for note taking it can be a bummer. Made me actually switch to a different tablet because I lost my trust in the Apple Pencil.
I just purchased apple pro 13” and Apple Pencil pro. Had it Saturday, worked for one day and then today whatever brush I chose, whatever colour, I would draw circles today and the colour was white, it wouldn’t take any other colours and suddenly after that, nothing on my canvas, would try circles and would choose circle on menu below where it’s written ellipse circle and the only thing I would see are the dots around the circle to enlarge or make it small. I tried all day to troubleshoot but nothing😢
Not having any issues drawing in Procreate myself yet. I got my new iPad Pro and pencil pro but I do have the 11 inch iPad. Not sure that makes a difference or not.
I was having the same problem and it was driving me nuts. The squeeze feature worked but not the draw feature. I did all the troubleshooting you described and no go. Restarting app/ipad/repairing didn’t work. The , it occurred to me to tighten the tip and that worked! I think somehow the tip easily loses contact. Try to tighten it a little more.
procreate and pencil work fine on my side, but Procreate needs to be updated for sure. did you check the settings in Procreate (display brush size, etc. ?)
I just saw a video. The guy had the same problem as you. His Apple pencil was defective. Quite a few people have had this problem. It doesn't work in procreate. You have to go to the Apple store and return it. This happened when the M2 iPad pro came out. Whenever the apple pencil 2 came out, a lot of them were defective.
I just got not only my Pencil Pro but the iPad Pro M4 as well replaced just today and I am still having problems with Procreate. I think it's a problem with Procreate itself, not the Pencil or the iPad.
I fixed it 💪🏼. After a lot of time spent I realized the problem can be solved touching the brush, go to the settings and then follow this config: Size in mid, opacity cero, the next mid and the 4th (my settings are in spanish 🤷🏽♂) again in cero... so mid, cero, mid and cero.... that's the way it works for me. The problem is that you must do this on every single brush, I'm doing this as soon as I need it
@@veebee8990 Last night, I realized that I was still experiencing problems with the native Apple apps (Notes and Freehand). It was ridiculous; I read somewhere that simply rebooting the iPad would fix everything… Hahaha, it worked! Now I have no more problems with any apps 🤷🏽♂
Average Tech Guy! Do you have Zoom turned on in the settings? I had it on on my iPad Pro and turning it off fixed the issues I was having. I emailed Procreate about it and they know about the issue affecting both Dreams and normal Procreate.
Which settings? Where? iPad settings or Procreate settings? I have had an iPhone for a few years but I’m new to Pencil and iPad. Can you explain how to locate the setting?
@@ravensavory Sorry! Just now got a chance to reply to you. You can turn on and off Zoom by going to iPad Settings > Accessibility > Zoom. I don't think the bug still exists though in Procreate.

No issues on my side with the M4 13 inch and apple pencil pro. Maybe try to disconnect the other pencil and then restart the app. If not, I would maybe reinstall the app, or be curious of some of your settings.
Mine is not working with Procreate or any other app. I have to continuously forget this device then reconnect it... So it's not just his... I am starting to think it could be a bug from Procreate though...

Between it being a new device plus random bugs, I don’t think it’s something permanent but you should get a replacement pencil just in case and do software updates as they become available

I had same issue and I got the problem solved. Everyone who met this problem, shut down your iPad and restart it. The cause why this happen is first time your iPad met new Apple pencil pro, they don't easily recognize as the predecessor iPad and Apple pencil models. This trouble would end soon by restarting iPad.
I’ve a total diff problem with my iPad Pro 13 M4, as soon as the Apple pencil gets near or touches the screen the iPad starts making like a buzzing sound from within, Apple have advised me to take it in to their tech guys, anyone else had this issue
I know how to solve if first go to the brush settings and then click on apple pencil ,then decrease the bleed to 0 and adjust the flow ❤ maybe it helps
i have the same problem on my ipad from 2018.... sometimes this happens... I just close procreate, put the pencil on charge... open procreate and it works again
I had to disconnect Apple Pencil 2 in Bluetooth of iPadOS, in order to use Logitech crayon pen. Maybe you have to disconnect every pen in Bluetooth of iPadOS, restart your iPad, and then attach Apple Pencil Pro, to try again in Procreate
Me too thought I found the good settings tonight and it did it again, when I draw with whatever brush has a hard time filling or hard time continuing the. Circle
people. if this continues happening, go to settings>general> transfer or reset ipad> reset> reset network settings and THAT IS IT. You will have to reconnect to your wifi, but this solved my problem.
Fyi - I also use Procreate. I checked the company and they said they will be updating the program to work with the new Apple pencil pro soon. So that is why it does not work.
No problem here with Procreate and the Apple Pencil Pro on my new iPad Pro 11" M4. Weird problem that it works in the other apps on yours and not in Procreate.
Did you just begin using it with a fresh start or did you import in all your old backed up setting, apps, etc.? I’m thinking problems are more likely when importing and starting with backed up settings than starting new.
The pencil pro is too slippery to hold. The material is too smooth. Its just slips with my grip. Too light as well. The first pencil was perfect. It also drops the pressure sometimes. You'd be drawing and then suddenly it just stops. Then you have to tap and the screen in procreate and it works again. This is on the ipad air 13 inch.
genius bar apple store employee just told me 2 days ago, to wait for an update. Nobody is held accountable for, apple just enjoys the dollars from early adopters and gives a fuck about us.
Here is the tip: restart your ipad and repair them. i've the exact same problem with you. Ipad air m2 and pencil pro. pencil just didn't work on procreate, and other apps just works fine. my finger and 3rd party pen works well in procreate. then i restart and repair them ,it works! it's surely the procreate's problem, but they just deny it.

I use my iPad pro with pro create and I use the second to last apple pen and it very laggy on the new iPad Pro
Bought new Ipad 13" m4 pro and got Procreate did the exact same thing. Returned penciled and got new one and still same issue. How did you fix it?

I think it’s a problem with the pressure curves in procreate. You need to change your pressure curves to fix it

It’s not just you. I just got my iPad and pencil pro today and I’ve been having sketchy, buggy touch issues with the pencil all day…….
I just bought the iPad pro and the magic keyboard and the pencilpro. It has a big issue, and it was the pencil not working or delaying. I returned my whole products and bought again, Same issue, I finally decided to return all of it because it was so bothersome and not trustworthy. I am an artist and I bought only for drawing and using Procreate. but unfortunately it has this issue and I hope apple fix it.
I had same issue and I got the problem solved. Everyone who met this problem, shut down your iPad and restart it. The cause why this happen is first time your iPad met new Apple pencil pro, they don't easily recognize as the predecessor iPad and Apple pencil models. This trouble would end soon by restarting iPad.
I’ve a total diff problem with my iPad Pro 13 M4, as soon as the Apple pencil gets near or touches the screen the iPad starts making like a buzzing sound from within, Apple have advised me to take it in to their tech guys, anyone else had this issue
I know how to solve if first go to the brush settings and then click on apple pencil ,then decrease the bleed to 0 and adjust the flow

I believe you can feel the reinforcing running down the centre of the iPad 13 pro has this had any effect in using the pencil.
i have the same problem on my ipad from 2018.... sometimes this happens... I just close procreate, put the pencil on charge... open procreate and it works again

No problem at all with Procreate and the Apple Pencil Pro on my brand new M4 iPad Pro. Must be something specific to your setup.
Beta version? Cause even Procreate says it’s not fully supported yet…
I had to disconnect Apple Pencil 2 in Bluetooth of iPadOS, in order to use Logitech crayon pen. Maybe you have to disconnect every pen in Bluetooth of iPadOS, restart your iPad, and then attach Apple Pencil Pro, to try again in Procreate
That happened to me with the old pencil, restarted the iPad fixed for me

Version 5.3.9 of Procreate was released on the 15th of May to provide Apple Pencil Pro support.
people. if this continues happening, go to settings>general> transfer or reset ipad> reset> reset network settings and THAT IS IT. You will have to reconnect to your wifi, but this solved my problem.

I have the 13 inch M4 and my pencil pro is perfect. Love it. I’d exchange it at an Apple Store.
It happened to me twice but rebooting brought it back.
I have the new M4 ipads the 11 and 13 inch and the pencil pro works perfectly on both ipads using procreate…its probably something with your setup
I have an iPad Pro M4 13 inch and I just purchased Procreate today and the Pencil Pro works fine with it. Maybe your Procreate is not up to date.

Fyi - I also use Procreate. I checked the company and they said they will be updating the program to work with the new Apple pencil pro soon. So that is why it does not work.

I just tested it on my new 11" M4 Pro and it worked fine for me, not sure why yours wasn't drawing for ya

No problem here with Procreate and the Apple Pencil Pro on my new iPad Pro 11" M4. Weird problem that it works in the other apps on yours and not in Procreate.
Did you just begin using it with a fresh start or did you import in all your old backed up setting, apps, etc.? I’m thinking problems are more likely when importing and starting with backed up settings than starting new.
It is not even recognizing my notes app
The pencil pro is too slippery to hold. The material is too smooth. Its just slips with my grip. Too light as well. The first pencil was perfect. It also drops the pressure sometimes. You'd be drawing and then suddenly it just stops. Then you have to tap and the screen in procreate and it works again. This is on the ipad air 13 inch.
I don’t have this problem with my Pencil Pro in Procreate so it might just be your specific unit
Disconnect the other stylus or contact Procreate support rather than blaming the Pencil Pro, that seems to work fine when not in Procreate.

genius bar apple store employee just told me 2 days ago, to wait for an update. Nobody is held accountable for, apple just enjoys the dollars from early adopters and gives a fuck about us.
Here is the tip: restart your ipad and repair them. i've the exact same problem with you. Ipad air m2 and pencil pro. pencil just didn't work on procreate, and other apps just works fine. my finger and 3rd party pen works well in procreate. then i restart and repair them ,it works! it's surely the procreate's problem, but they just deny it.

@@kinnetikira they mean re-pair. To un-pair it, and pair the pencil again but he said he tried that already. I’m sure he’s tried restarting too.
Procreate have already said their app needs updating. Not a problem with the iPad or Pencil Pro.
