- Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro Screen and biometric sensor repair tutorial. The difficulty level is 8.5 for this repair. From Pixel 6 and 6 Pro to Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, screen replacements are precisely the same, but the fingerprint sensor may never work again if the sensor gets damaged. Due to compatibility issues, the sensor might not work. Please try the Google calibration software to synch everything. This might fix the fingerprint sensor issue.

Very good video, useful to hear your personal experience and difficulties. Video needs more likes
Thank you ✌🏽️. The Pixel has been one of the most complicated device to repair properly. There's always something they did to make it prone to failure.
Great video - helped me to replace the screen on my Pixel 6 Pro! Thank you!
Great that's what I like to hear 👍🏽
How is the screen performing 2 weeks later. Good ? Can u drop link where you bought from?
@@1RRaider see link below - currently out of stock, but you should be able to compare with others. screen is still doing well after 2+ months even with a couple of small drops!
If my screen gets broken again, is b7000 able to be removed aswell like the original google glue? Thank you!
Yes. Removing b7000 is possible. It will certainly take more time than a tape but you can remove it. You can use a small metal or plastic tool to scratch it off.
Have you used any aftermarket screen? If so which did you find were any good as the genuine screen is more expensive than a new phone now.
It's a tradeoff cheap screens won't be or do everything like original screens. You'll just have to keep that in mind if you go if aftermarket screens. The screens work they are very good but not excellent like original screens.
@@ersbit how about fingerprint sensor compatibility? are they still compatible with aftermarket screens?
Will the adhesive clog the top speaker? or is it ok to apply to the top as you did?
No on mine it was not an issue. The solution to mitigate that will be to add the b7000 then the screen (repair clamps) then have the device facing down on a table so that any excess or spills would be on the screen just in case there's more than enough b7000 added to the top. Gravity will keep the excess flowing on the screen. About 10 to 20 minutes screen facing down should be enough time for the glue to be hard enough that I wouldn't be fluid and possibly flow into the speaker.
Where did you get the pixel screen?
It is original?
oled?
Links to the screen in the description. The screen was not original. This was aftermarket screen. For original screen you can try ifixit website
Bro i need pixel 6 pro 120hz LTPO display where i get ? Pls help me now i am using 60hz display it ruined pixel butter smooth experience
ifixtit claimed to have original screens from Google. On their website you might find the 120hz screen you're looking for.
Will the cell phone still work without worrying about the fingerprint sensor
Yes. This is my answer when I did it without the sensor. It worked without any issues apart from the fingerprint setting that disappeared from the parameters of the device. I was able to lock the device using password, patterns etc...other than fingerprint. I said then because I do not know if they have changed stuff with a software update to render the device unable to even lock if the fingerprint is not connected. When I did it it worked
Is waterproofing gone after changing display or broken screen
Can you do this without the heating pad?
Yes you can do it without heatpad.
Using a heatgun or Hairdryer

Why did you change the fingerprint reader BTW?
Because the screen I received did not have a fingerprint sensor. If your new screen has it just connect the screen then test the screen and fingerprint sensor if all good close and seal the screen on the frame you're done.

Oh la la 🎉 Bravo Alice You're most welcome 👋🏽.
If i don't use fingerprint, can i just install a new screen without the fingerprint sensor?
If it get damaged you will look the fingerprint sensor but still can use swipe, pattern, pin or password.
I just looked at a Pixel 6 Pro (fingerprint sensor is not attached). You can still lock the phone. You'll not see the option for fingerprint sensor security.
If the display comes with a fingerprint sensor do you need to replace it with the old one
Technically NO.
You can install the new screen with fingerprint then test to see if the fingerprint is working (1) if it's working everything is fine you're done.
If it's not working (2) you have two choice. Do a calibration of the phone using Google software on chrome. If everything went well you're device will be ready to use. If it doesn't work or doing weird things you try the calibration again. If nothing changes just transfert your old fingerprint sensor on the new screen.
@@ersbit Thanks. Also I found a screen that says it is compatible with the pixel 6 pro. Would that be okay and what is the difference between that and a genuine one from Ifixit. Also thanks for the quality content and quick replies
Sir, I was wondering whether or not disconnecting the battery cable from the motherboard couldn't make any issues.
No it should not create any issue if you disconnect with your finger or plastic tool. If you disconnect with a metal tool you might have issues as the battery may be shorted, shorted the battery port on the motherboard and sometimes damage the phone.
@@ersbit Thank you so much for answering me! You're amazing😄
I followed all your steps but unfortunately after reinstallation, the screen remains black while the phone vibrates if I touch the buttons. According to you, is the new screen damaged or is it the phone or the battery that is affected? Thank you very much for your response.
You may have a bad screen. I got another comment having the same issue. They sent him the screen of Pixel 7 Pro or something else which is literally the same dimension and after installation the screen would show the Google logo and stay black.
Where did you get the screen? Ask them if they tested it before sending the screen and if you it does not work send them the screen and ask to get a replacement (they should test it before they send it back to you).
In your case the screen might be the issue. If the screen is confirmed good the issue can be on the flex cable port for the screen (damaged maybe).
One question, my pixel had a broken screen, but it was still working, now the screen has come off and the touch screen no longer works, do you think that if I change the screen for a new one, the touch screen will work? =
Yes. New screen = new digitizer and the digitizer gives you Touchscreen.
Now if something else is wrong like on the motherboard or the screen flex cable connector on the motherboard then à new screen wouldn't fix it.
Why you do not use alcohol to separate the fingerprint sensor- would be much easier
I refrain from using alcohol because I was not sure if it could damage the sensor. The fingerprint being multiple layers of sufficient amount of alcohol gets in it can get damaged. That's why I didn't use alcohol.
@@ersbit i use always alcohol- worked fine
My pixel 6 Pro screen was repaired but the screen doesn't seem to have been stuck down properly in one corner. Any way to fix without taking the whole thing off?
Hi, i replaced my screen but I have some issues with the screen. It wont stick to the frame ( the part where the screen cable is) it seem the glue won't hold the screen in place. Could it be bad glue or a bend frame?
Hi did you use b7000? Or just doublesided tape?
The screen cable should be flexible and not push on the frame. If it's pushing you can press it down to have it in place. But most likely it's the tape or glue that will make it not stick to the frame.
@@ersbit I see. I used double sided tape. Will the b7000 stick better?
@@peaceluuve if the tape is good it should stick. It's better to add b7000 because either the tape is good or bad you should not have issues later. If the issue persist you can seal it again with b7000.
@@peaceluuve b7000 is liquid glue and will become solid after installation and cure after 24hr
thanks mate. best video!!! thank you
im from tamilnadu,Bro my Google 6 pro mobile display broken, i need 6 pro original display, so where it buy.
Check the links in the description.
Amazon or eBay you can get the screens
how much price pixel 6pro diplay.plz tell
About 200$
Hi,
Thank you for posting this helpful video.
I have some questions,please answer.
My 6 pro display has 2 horizontal green line sides of the front camera to edges and 1 black dot in the corner edges. The fingerprint is perfectly working. If i buy a new display, does it need to replace the fingerprint sensor? I dont want to replaced the fingerprint sensor. The old sensor will work the new display?
If you get a new display with a pre-installed fingerprint sensor you will only need to calibrate the sensor using Google Pixel repair website on Chrome (browser). If you install the new screen without calibration to the sensor and it work (no need to do the calibration). Only do calibration of the sensor if it doesn't work.
Yes the old sensor will work on any display. (If it is removed without cracking it)
Bro i got the exact same issue with My screen but i'm not replacing it, My question to You is, did the damage increased in the time that You were using it like that?
I'm doing this now and the tiny screw inside to disconnect is foiling me!! Any tips? It won't come loose :(
Hi sorry for the late response. Are you talking about the screw that holds the screen flex cable or something else?
Screw is a 6-point star shape. Ref. T4 I believe
It hurts me to look at this! This was a working screen that could have been restored, but you couldn't even manage to take it out of the frame!
Thank you...I don't want to explain myself I am tired of one way thinking. Thank you so much now move on.
should i buy with or w/o frame?
Buy with frame it's easier to install. Without the frame you'll need to remove the frame on the old screen. It might get damaged during the process of not very careful.
Where i can found pixel 6 pro display original
I got mine from eBay. I put the link in the not sure if it is still working 😅 ( for sure you can check eBay or Amazon for screens)

Hi! May i ask if do i need to calibrate the finger print even if i reglass it? (Not replaced the screen)
No you should not have to do any recalibration if you replace only the outer glass of the screen (it's external physical components and thus there is no connection or Back and forth with the brain of the device) 👍🏽
@@ersbit thanks! I suspect that the technician replaced it with cheap oled screen because he did a calibration. But he didn’t succeed to calebrate it, i dont know why. And that’s why I suspect
He told me that he needs to re calibrate the finger print sensor because he separate it from the screen to protect it for reglassing. So even if it was pulled out and put it back there no need to calibrate it?
@crisluntad9477 no the fingerprint sensor does not need recalibration if you use the original fingerprint sensor (the phone knows it already)
If a new fingerprint sensor is to be installed there might be a need for calibration if it doesn't work work immediately after installation.
When you disconnect the sensor and remove it then reinstall it to any types of screens you may need to recalibrate if issues arise. In my case I did not need to recalibrate it worked immediately. So a new screen should not require the calibration unless there's issues and then you will recalibrate to fix it.
I'm your case since you had only the glass removed and replaced. The person might have removed the sensor then worked on the screen after replacement of the glass he should install the fingerprint sensor then it should work since it is the same sensor and the same screen just the physical glass been changed. These are the reason why I think there's should not be any need for calibration.
@@ersbit thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
If i want to replace my pixel 6 pro (A) lcd with other pixel 6 pro (B), must i unplug the fingerprint B and instal my old fingerpint A to lcd B?
Or no need to replace the fingerprint sensor?
I hope you understand what i say and replied my comment soon, thanks.
The easiest thing is to install a good screen(including its fingerprint) then test the device to make sure everything works. If it does not work, try the google calibration to to set up the fingerprint etc.... If you try it all and nothing works you'll have to transfer the original fingerprint sensor.
@@ersbit oh ok, so before replace, better don't sett the fingerprint, right? And then sett the fingerprint after the lcd connected to smartphone
Are the pro 7 original digitizers compatible with the pro 6 logic board connector?
It might not since the 7 Pro Screen doesn't work on the Pixel 6 Pro.
Not sure if what you're asking is possible. Maybe try it
The fingerprint unlock option is not on my phone
Is that after you re-install the fingerprint sensor?
You can try to recalibrate the phone using Google Chrome Pixel repair page.
If recalibration does not work it might be damaged (fingerprint sensor).
Then you can disconnect and reconnect again the sensor and test if no good result. It's a bad fingerprint sensor (damaged)
After the replacement fingerprint is not working even the fingerprint option isn't available in settings
Did you try recalibration?? Sometime it need fingerprint recalibration sometimes it does not. Also if the fingerprint is damaged you might experience no fingerprint in menu etc...
If you can you can revome the fingerprint sensor shine a light on it and look for any Crack if none it must be a calibration issue or Bad connection to the screen. As without the fingerprint sensor connected I had the same experience no trace of fingerprint in menu or inside the device settings.
please help me Can you send the original list of Pixel Six to Bangladesh?
You can check ifixit website for original parts....I buy mine on ebay (I know ebay will ship international but ifixit I do not know)
Followed all instructions. Screen upon rebooting shows Google sign then switches off then shows Google then turns off and so on amd so forth. Nothing is working.
From what you said, try on Google Chrome Pixel calibration (Google it) it should show a web page that is for calibration of Pixel devices. Try the calibration it will boot and reboot and calibrate / sync new parts with motherboard. That's the only step after a screen replacement if it doesn't work.
Where did you get your screen?
Awesome video thank you!
You're most welcome. Hope the video was helpful 👍🏽.
Bro if that wasnt an originsl screen, did the 120hz worked?
I used your tutorial to make my first phone screen replacement.
I encountered a problem, the new screen didn't had the frame of the camera, if this happens to anyone just remove it as you did with the finger sensor and put a small amount of glue 😊.
Thanks a lot, it is perfectly explained. ❤
You saved me of getting a new phone or spending 350 bucks.
Thanks for the video, please the screen costs how much ($)?
aHi, I have put some links into the description for the screens.
I got mine on eBay for about $250, you may find variation on the price about $20 to 40$ (ebay). Amazon it might be a little more (links in the description)

My pixel 6 pros fingerprint sensor got damaged while repairing, can it be replaced?
Yes. You can replace it. You'll have to recalibrate the device using Google Pixel repair tool on Google Chrome.
If it get damaged you will look the fingerprint sensor but still can use swipe, pattern, pin or password.
Варварский метод ремонта
I got a pro 6 today very cheap, digitizer is flickering not usable.
I saw plenty of cheap OEM oled/amoled screens on aliexpress, are they worth buying?
Also it seems the OEM pro 7 replacement digitizers are cheaper.
Some ORIGINAL pro 7 digitizer with small defects are under $50.
Is it worth buying any of these to install??
Flickering it is a bad screen.if touchscreens is not responding properly it's the digitizer.
Your shop address
I don't have a shop I just help people figure out how they can fix their phones. It's a hobby
Thank you for this tutorial. Can I do this same method on Pixel 6A? And do you have a tutorial on how to replace the battery of pixel phones?
Yes. It should be the same process for the Pixel 6 A. If there a fingerprint sensor should be the same process. If no fingerprint you'll just replace the screen. The battery replacement is not hard. I have pixel 6 pro, Pixel 7 Pro battery replacement guides. You may use a little of alcohol if it's stubborn to remove in case you don't want to use heat on the Pixel 6 A. Don't use heat if the back is plastic!!
@@ersbit Thank you. Yes the Pixel 6A has under-display fingerprint.and Yes Pixel 6A has plastic back. Thank you so much!
@@godofredo0409 Ok, for the battery try the pull tab that is around the battery first if it's difficult to remove add a few drops of alcohol to help with the removal of the battery.
if the screen has no dark spot or dead pixel . the screen can be refurbished (just changed the glass). you could make a buck by doing so. instead of prying into the phone and making it worst. u could use some isopropyl alcohol or glue remover spray to safely remove the lcd. plus can you at least shut the phone down before doing so.
1- this is not a glass only replacement
2- glass only replacement requires machines that are expensive I don't have. I could try manually glass removal but the rate of damage is too high so I don't want to waste my time and viewers time (they cannot do it)
3-if I wanted to refurbish the screen I would have been more careful and even during the refurbishing process with the machines the screen can get damage
4-true I can use alcohol but I don't and it's has never been part of my work flow
5-true turning the screen off is good practice
6-this is to make the replacement easy. I had a screen and not a glass so the way I will do think on both scénario is vastly different
Replacement glass only is same as remove the gorilla glass to glass without corning gorilla glass?
@@DikinAhmadChannel Glass only is possible with high success rate only if you have the machines to help you do the work.
Doing glass only replacement for inexperienced people is nearly impossible. I don't do it because it will be a waste of time for people who will try it.
The way I would do it will require you do buy a machine to hold the screen and heat it while trying to remove the glass. Then add liquid glue add the glass then use UV light to cure the screen (all these steps might damage the screen).
@@ersbit i know the process, cause in my city has a service store to do replacement glass only, but that's not my question.
@@DikinAhmadChannel can you rephrase your question...I don't understand the previous comment with the question.
my god, this is the scariest rework I have seen in a looong time.
😂 the back glass of pixel phones would surely give you dizziness
after i saw even the guy making videos for UA-cam broke the display, i won't even try on this. 🥹🥺
Who did that lol.
If it's replacement for the screen (screen is already bad). Changing the battery is risky lol you gotta remove a perfectly good screen. (Google stuff is too exposed for damage)
@@ersbit1:15 it just breaks
