I wanted to drop a comment about some of the features shared in this video to clarify some points: 1. Regarding the pressure sensitivity feature this is not a Pixel 6 or 6 Pro exclusive, some older models have it, also the video is intended to share the hidden features not only the exclusive features. 2. The camera lens wobbling is something that happens in any phone but the Pixel 6 Pro is noticeably louder than others so, I wanted to share this. Thanks for the comments and raising these points.
Hi from the UK 🇬🇧 What really annoys me is the always on display, displaying time as for example, 6:47pm as 06:47pm. Why the 0 it irritates the hell out of me, and worse still, my smart watch mirrors this on the digital clock. Is there a way of getting rid of the 0 please, the clock settings are correct? Thanks 👍🏻
Another useful mention - the pressure sensitivity is actually not exclusive to the pixel 6. The api is called "Deep Press" and it's been in android since version 10. Pixel devices got support for it with the march 2020 feature drop so you should be able to use it with others as well. Been using it on the 5 and now the 6 and its a really neat feature indeed but it takes some getting used to.
Thanks for sharing, I kinda forgot that I already talked about this feature a couple of years ago, also this video is not intended to only share the exclusive features but also the hidden ones, overall I appreciate the info you shared, this is useful.
That rear sensor being dominant is probably what's been causing the issues with auto-brightness some reviewers mentioned, like being too jumpy. Nice work, digging through the phone to find this niche stuff!
Most phones with OIS sensors make that wobbling sound. On my 6 without the telephoto it happens too. On my old Moto Z2 I remember hearing it and thought something had come loose in the phone. Even iPhones do this, so it's nothing to worry about. It's probably amplified by the larger lenses in the new phones as well, which makes it more noticable
@@IDTR Yeah lol, since we've got new big boy sensors the lenses are probably a bit bigger to compensate, which means the OIS component must be bigger too. Thankfully shaking your phone isn't a common thing to do, unless you're on a Moto and want to turn on your flashlight 😅
I am worried about the drops, the sound makes me feel that the lens will pop out of place, I don't shake the phone in my day to day usage, not that crazy yet 😀

Correct me if I'm wrong but i think the 2 cutouts between the lenses are part of the laser autofocus system. If you point a camera at the backside of the 6, you can see that the left cutout is the diode. I covered up each indiviual sensor on my Pixel 6 and it seems like its using the spectral and flicker sensor for brightness adjustments.
@@IDTR You can actually see the laser by using a camera. I am quite sure that the one next to the flash is the spectral and flicker sensor; the Pixel Pixel 5 for example has this same sensor in its camera unit.
@@IDTR I actually think that the 2 hidden cutouts you showed in the video are both part of the laser af. The left one is the transmitter, the right one is the receiver. The sensor left of the flash is the spectral/flicker sensor and it also seems to be the one responsible for measuring ambient light since the screen dims when you cover it up individually. Thank you for always responding to the comments so quickly btw 👌
@@0815Gs You're absolutely right. Just ignore him.... If you point the camera to a mirror you can CLEARLY see the laser and the receiver next to it, while the light sensor is next to the flashlight.

I've just read a huge Reddit thread on r/GooglePixel on how bad the adaptive auto brightness is on the Pixel 6 models. Letting the back-side of the phone give more control over the brightness sounds odd, as people most likely have their phone facing downwards, which is also more likely to pick up a darker light value as opposed to the front side.
Yeah that is odd, but I always have my phone facing up. Not only for the always on display, but also because I don't want the front screen of my phone to get messed up, or covered in something that's left over on the table. The only time I'd even consider having the phone face down on the screen is flip to shush which is something I've been thinking about trying to out. You also mentioned that it gets darker. Maybe that's for battery life so that it doesn't keep it super bright? But I don't know, The thing about it though I'm not sure if most people know this but Adaptive Brightness isn't just for your Environment it's also from you and your input. If you Adjust it to how you want it in certain lighting conditions it tries to learn how you like the brightness in that environment and adjust it accordingly. I do hope they address this in a software update, and that they let you choose what sensor you want to use if not it's fine but I would like to see improvement. From what I've seen, they have a lot of issues jotted down, I hope this one is added. 👍
@@micahjohnson9184 I was/am aware of Adaptive Brightness "adapting" to your manual changes (literally), but the subreddit was complaining about the fact that even after ~2 weeks of it learning, it still doesn't seem great and keeps changing constantly. There already were complaints around Pie when this was introduced, along with the logarithmic scale they use on the slider now. I personally had no real issues with Adaptive brightness, but I did notice that it wasn't always choosing comfortable values.
@@XeZrunner Oh sorry to hear that, hope fixes come. For me it hasn't been that bad, have you turned it off because of the troubles? Or does it still help your battery life despite it?
@@micahjohnson9184 I'll be completely honest, I haven't even thought about auto/adaptive brightness helping battery life. I do leave it on and it probably helps :)
@C Richardson Yes if you go to 'settings' scroll until you see 'display' tap that. Once you tap it look for 'Adaptive brightness' and turn it off, that should work. Side note I don't think it's enabled by default unless you've had it enabled on another device before and transferred everything, or turned it on yourself.
That pressure sensitivity thing also works on my Pixel 4. I found out that it is done by measuring the touch area. If I put my whole fingertips on screen without hard pressure, it will also activate faster!!

Hi, do you know if the P{pixel 6 Pro is compatible with the Dji OM5 ?
I wished that with the Pro they had skipped unprofessional bling like the curved display and the under display fingerprint sensor in favor of one thing: a headphone jack
Could you try to show people how good the haptics on the Pixel 6 or Pixel 4 are, if you turn on vibration in alarms, it tunes according to the music
Will talk about it in the review
@@IDTR looking forward to it! 👍🏻
The camera rattle also occurs in the OP 9Pro and S21U.
Do a giant camera test and comparison with iphone and other google phones please
How do you manage to make videos and balance your work at the same time?
Work on them in the weekends (like 8 to 9 hours per day) and for 2 to 3 days after work
Liked it already!
Brother I like your intro music. Please tell me name of the music
Boom bap positive
Oh, and you can access the shortcuts panel with 2 fingers than 2 swipes. Dates back to Android 5.
That sensor is worth having
It's great for navigation, I put my phone on a car holder and the sunlight is usually directed towards the back side of my phone and when it happens the screen brightens up which is good
@@IDTR 👍
is that the nightmare on elm street car?
If I understood correctly, p6pro selfie goes from 0.7x to 2.9x. If this is true, then it covers a zoom interval 2.9/0.7 = 4 as the earlier pixels.
Good point, But why did we divide the numbers instead of adding them?
@@IDTR I suppose pixel's camera team trusts selfie zoom upto 4x of the lens focal length. Thus as for previous pixels, the selfie of p6pro has a zoom 4x of its real lens. (The fact that p6pro starts at 0.7x is artificial - in reality this is the real 1x.) Above 4x, the zoom becomes bad - honesty even at 4x the selfie zoom is not good.
Thanks for explaining this
Nice video
I don't notice any difference when pressing or is it only the case with the Pro?
It usually works with the thumb but, I tried it this morning on my friend's regular 6 and it didn't work, however the 4a has it.
Can i turn on and off the hdr in videos ?
Hey is pixel 6 pro support dul sim???
It’s possible hide the punch hole like the old pixel 3xl ???
Creating a black band
Very disappointing, Face recognition is not available on Pixel 6, fingerprint recognition is really bad, many bugs, and motion sense swiping hand to move to the next songs is not available either. What is happening with this phone?
Was clear ❤️❤️
Sound while shaking phone is caused by image stabilization
How much peak brightness nits in this device??
3d touch is back on the pixel 6 ! 😂
That clicky camera on the telephoto are normal. Even samsung and iPhones does that
Thanks for the info
Habibi explains it the best
but id'like proxima Meta compare to live whe if you so we would develop and very pretty much for callable information data's of what finding out.
The conversation widget one by one size works for me on my pixel 4xl so it's not a pixel 6 exclusive
Thanks for sharing this
Just realized that if you shake the phone in camera mode, it switches from selfie
I think 2.98675x would be more precise 😂
Haha, finally someone noticed
So that's why my screen goes crazy when I use the flashlight.
Didn't notice this, thanks for letting me know, and it has more impact if it's close to a flat surface
@@IDTR Definitely, another thing my Pixel 6 non pro also has the camera noise so I think it's the regular lens maybe, I checked and you're right it doesn't do it when it's in use.
Thanks for the tip, you're good
My pixel 6 has yet to receive the December update and it's December 9th
On the 13th
I hate the switching of telephoto... It's on my Samsung S20 Ultra as well.. so annoying
This is just bad! These phones have a Ton of features but Google barely lists them. Who could've imagined the Pixel 6 screen has 3D touch!? The active Noise cancellation their phones do whilst making calls have never for once been talked about too. I just feel they're under-hyping these devices with so much embedded and just little getting to be advertised.
Because it doesn't have 3d touch? only an API that measures the difference of touch.
this guy is genius
I see why I just got my pixel 6 for less than $200 this was supposed to be hidden features not hidden glitches/problems lol 😂
is it just me or did he talk about the pixel 6 pro more
When I my finger goes on top of the camera while using most of the apps, the screen blacks out. Pixel 6 pro
Ambient light sensing is hardly new or a secret. I've had many phones over the last 10 that had screens that adjusted to light levels.
try Extra Dim and Quick Tap
Please can you give me your wallpaper name ?
The auto display brightness isn't smooth at all
Please find how to record call with pixel 6 pro
It's not showing for some reason but my Pixel 5 has it
Are you turkish pal ?
No, Egyptian
Greedy video and observations.
But I can confirm face unblur on the front cam works on Pixel 6 as well.
I have tested it and works too.
those a premier really are mobile is left and still reserved or preserved to internet history that even robot owning it for finest at build were almost jail for like pototype mark as i lang Derived for closed way as asusual local legend primative curcuses event privately.
its kind of pathetic that on a google phone ok google wont work for me . i,ve tried clear cache and changing settings with no effect
You mistaken features with "observations"
Make sense
amazing guy
So if you sit the phone down on its back the screen brightness is gonna go down? 🥴
HI MEANS SALUTE IN FRENCH SEEMS STRANGE
