Kashmir tourism for summer doesn't decide who the pm is?? Primary education population control.. proper law and order .. Meghalaya probably has the most beautiful views among the NE states.

I am one of them, I visited there last February. It is very safe and most people are welcoming, and it is really one of the most beautiful places I visited.
Tourism promotion not only in Kashmir but all across India is an untapped market. Government has done well, but needs to do more to utilize it fully!

Situation on the ground is the same. Many anti national jihadis are being appeased by Modi govt through Lt Governor. Muftis and Abdullas who destroyed Kashmir and are responsible for multiple scams like Roshni act haven't been touched. Jammu has been completely neglected by Modi govt and there is a lot of anger there against Modi govt. BJP will struggle to retain Jammu and Udhampur Lok Sabha seats next year.

Well that's also true, but garbage disposal system needs to be made better. Tourism is necessary for the economy of tourist spots. I mean atleast local people should get also money to survive.

Yet many foreigners who visit India are bohemian mavericks so they only visit Paharganj, Taj Mahal and Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi. Then they would prefer to take a khataara bus to Kathmandu and visit slums and guzri bazaars there.
I sincerely hope Kashmir prospers and completely rejects any attempts from Pak to stir trouble in the future.

Any excess is bad. Previously it was difficult but too many tourists create other problems unless there are facilities. Surely there are not. Manage tourism. Just because many are dependent on it does not make it attractive and safe. Natural beauty of Kashmir must not be spoiled by excess tourism.

Hmmm. We don't have numbers for 2022 yet, so assuming we get them in 2024, then we should get 2023 numbers by 2025. For sure we will know by then if records were broken. 2020 was the start of corona, so 18 million is pretty good, and 2022 should have been better at approximately 18.8million, and 2023 should be better as corona is finished for the full year. Not sure if G20 made a difference as it will take a couple of years to be sure. Good for the people of j&k who have suffered a lot these past 10 years
James Bond made Srinagar famous. He is no longer popular movies. Overtourism will cotinue while savvy tourists avoid those touristic crowded places.

More tourists visited Kashmir than the entire population of Kashmir until now.
And for Mehbooba and Abdullah Kashmir is a jail since 5th Aug. 2019.
Pakistan politicians, Congress party, Mehabooba have been crying since the abrogation of Article 370 and releasing the Kashmir from the clutches of Radical islam.
