That was very kind of the owner to allow you to explore the place. I will admit it breaks my heart to see places that were once thriving to decay like that.
you could possibly ask the owner if you could help clear it out. Some owners will even let you take something if you ask and they won't need. but it is polite and customary to ask before you take photos, and visit and take anything from the property.
discovered your channel a couple years ago searching for abandoned place exploration videos. been hooked ever sense, love your vids and keep up the great work Wallie!
That is so cool that you got to video it before it is totally gone forever. Thanks for the tour. Hope you have some more adventures like this one in the future. All the best to you. Adventure on !
Long-time subscriber here and I really appreciate the respect you give these places. I really love the new intro! I’m so glad you kept “Look at the front where it says Ames real big!” That’s your trademark! Did you hear the rumors online about Ames possibly returning? Stay awesome Wallie!
I remember this place and other places on that road from when I used to work summers at the Park. This was in 1976-78. I used to run a different ride each day to fill in for the regular operator. A lot of good memories there, hate to see that area in the shape it is now.
This looked like a real nice place before it fell apart great video as always I greatly enjoy all the respectful and chill top quality content great job Wallie
So sad to see. I grew up going to Conneaut Lake Park, and what has happened to it just sucks. I never stayed in that motel, as my family preferred the actual Hotel Conneaut, but I know where it is. That motel was open the last time I was at the park, which was somewhere in the 2016-2018 time period. It’s a shame how much it’s gone downhill since then, although I guess it makes sense between the final closure of the park and the pandemic.
A friend's daughter owns a motel on rt30 thats left over from before the big interstate travel. She had a massive pool when she took ownership but due to insurance costs it was filled in. The giant picnic shelters are still out there though. She does decent business but she also has an hourly room rental available - if you know, you know. You gotta do what you can to stay in business these days.
Older FL, metro Orlando FL hotels, resorts have pools that are 6-8/9 feet deep. Due to lawsuits, code enforcement, drownings, post 2005 or so, pools are mandatory 5 ft only.
I live in Meadville, and we were driving around the lake the other day and when I saw this place I wondered in my head if WallieB had ever checked it out. I logged on to UA-cam today and this video pops up! Great video!
Hey Wallie, you should drive over to Steubenville/East Liverpool areas sometime....not far from Pittsburgh ...lots of abandoned places there to explore......
So sad. Went every summer and stayed a week or two from 1985 to the early 2000's. Also did October fest. My kids, my siblings, nieces, nephews and my cousin and her children. It was a great place. Besides the motel there was 8 cottages and 6 one room cabins. Was always packed.
What a Awesome Exploring An Old Abandoned Motel You Have it Done Motel Seance About 2 Years Ago. Hopefully You Guys are Doing Much Awesome Video Every Single Week Wallie and Kayla. I love to Exploring some More place But Thanks for Watching, Enjoyed Awesome Guys!!!
I know where this is at... And if there is a couple bad winters with no proper maintenance... these buildings just fall apart. The area was really affected by CLP shutting down multiple times and the factories that left the area. Its sad cause my family still lives there and I'll be going up that way in a couple weeks.
What I would do with money being no concern. Tear down rebuild it into a VA home, fully stock the pond, keep it stocked. Residents and visitors can fish without a license.
reminds me of the old school "motor lodges" you'd see in postcards from vacation towns in the 1940s and 1950s. one story structures with parking right in front for your car, sort of like the motel in hitchcock's Psycho movie. neat video!
Wow! That was an awesome video. Very cool of the owner to give you permission to explore / film. I kinda miss the rockin' music from the old intro, though. ;)
I used to travel to Erie and New Castle Pennsylvania. I remember seeing signs for the Conneaut lake. Just over the border from Ohio. Thanks for posting
Good stuff, Wallie and Mary, newer Sub here. Representing SE Pennsyltucky. No offense, Wallie, but your voice sounds a little like Adam the Woo. Your accent, reminds me of Adam the Woo.
New intro is so clever! Aww...I wonder if a basement run part of that motel cuz there's window wells along one side. We have that in our house. Cute place wish these motels could hang on. Like millionaires need to go around saving history!..If you ever get to the Gray Summit area in Mo..Diamond INN and restaurant is fun to visit.
You said they were scrapping it out. Maybe that's where a lot of the decay/damage came from. Both from them tearing out the scrap, and from that tearing out accelerating the natural decay. Shame. Looked like it was a cute little place, once upon a time. And, like you, I would've LOVED the pool, and that little pond!
I'm originally from Edinboro so as soon as you said it was near an amusement park I knew exactly where you were. Very emblematic of the area unfortunately.
Hey, I’m glad you actually visited the abandoned bojangles in Fayetteville WV (which is now an dominos pizza ) And actually want you to see a abandoned big lots before you get to Fayette County
Wallie, huge fan, I love all of your videos. Are you planning on making your way back to Richmond Kentucky for Buc-Ees again? April 19th makes a year since them opening, I thought it would be a great idea to do a video for a year after opening. I currently work at the Richmond buc-ees and would love to meet you.
According to property records there's a private residence on the property. I'm guessing that it's the house located next to the former swimming pool which appears to be abandoned judging by the latest street view image.
So sad!! All it really takes is a bad roof. Water starts getting in and if not taken care of quick it takes no time at all once it starts saturating the wood, insolation and drywall.
I like your intro! It's probably been on there for a while but it's been a few weeks since I watched the video of yours. It's a shame to see any motel, store restaurant closed down. I live in Wapakoneta Ohio Just a few weeks ago a couple tornadoes went through here and it took out a hotel part of a TA truck stop, a campground a big $22.5 million dollar greenhouse, It took a old schoolhouse in the country about every 2 miles you see once in a while picked it up and just made a big pile of rubble. A few barns I picked the house up and carried it almost a quarter of a mile. Look it up there's a bunch of pictures on it. Sorry got a little side tracked😅 And what the weather don't destroy, vandals, thieves will come in just like that motel you just visited. Thank the difference between a hotel and a motel the hotel can't be more than 3 stories tall? Good content I've been following you guys for a few years now. Was that Kayla in the background and didn't sound like her I was just wondering? You're safe out there Willie.
I mean, it's trashed not because of vandalism, but because they were stripping the pipes and scrapping metal etc, and once you tear it apart it decayes a lot quicker. Also, I want those blue curtains
Did this place have a basement? It looked like it was on a slab, but the floors are caving in? I see the window wells along the foundation outside, but I wonder how much is under what we see on the surface.
They are called Jalousie windows, now pretty much obsolete, we have a hopper window in the 1st floor, just one window, jalousie windows leak cold and hot air like a sieve , my parents house had them in the back bedroom, we had them replaced, My Wife and I sold that house, and moved to a better area, this was in Philly, Pennsylvania.
Maybe poor maintenance led to it being so bad. Those tvs hanging on the wall, haven't that in a long while. Smell that mold. Definitely be respectful and glad you got permission. Thanks for the walk around brother. 👊👊👊
Pray tell, what was the name of the abandoned amusement park, I’m in SE Pennsylvania, I like seeing creepy old parks, but on video, I’m not going to go there, too far .

Welcome aboard and thank you!
I love the new intro. That old motel is in such bad shape that it probably stinks of mold or other nasty stuff when it gets hot and humid or rains.
That is so cool that you got to video it before it is totally gone forever. Thanks for the tour. Hope you have some more adventures like this one in the future. All the best to you. Adventure on !

@@mamacindyrogofsky495 that day is sadly coming. Kmart is about to be no more.

Can you please explore a abandoned JCPenney burger king on north Jefferson Street Huntington Indiana please
Awesome video Wallie! I love when you go inside places, especially motels!
Right near Conneaut Lake. RIP hotel and amusement park. 😢

It's exactly why you think, lol.

SUNSET VIEW MOTEL next to Conneaut Park we used to go to October Fest ever year up there in the 1990's
you could rent SUPER NINTENDO and SEGA GENESIS in the main office for like $2.50 per half hour
Otcber fest was a blast
wow, no hope for that place, must have been a fantastic place to stay with the pond there and the park not far away, enjoyed the video.
I live in Meadville, and we were driving around the lake the other day and when I saw this place I wondered in my head if WallieB had ever checked it out. I logged on to UA-cam today and this video pops up! Great video!
Pumped to see it!

Interesting Channel Theme. The Old One Was Good Too.
It is so sad to see the park closed and back in the day it was a nice place...it is a shame😢😢😢
That is so cool I wanna go to abandon places one day
Let's go!!!❤
Awesome Wallie
Love the new Intro! Its Fresh!
Love the new intro! And great vid!!!

With no heat, and the cold, and water leaking right through, a bando house, or Motel, or a factory, just deteriorates very quickly, rather quickly!
I used to travel to Erie and New Castle Pennsylvania. I remember seeing signs for the Conneaut lake. Just over the border from Ohio. Thanks for posting

Appreciate you sharing this abandoned location🏚
you should go to missouri and check some abandoned places
I've noticed the same square holes in the roofs of the abandoned woodcliff condos. I also wondered how they got there and why they're on so many roofs
4:11 Just waiting for the reenactment of Tommy busting out of The Bamboo Lounge🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Paulie would smile🙂

Awesome video i love the new intro
As old fashioned as CRT TVs are, they were built like tanks. That's why so many of them survived this place's decay.
So sad!! All it really takes is a bad roof. Water starts getting in and if not taken care of quick it takes no time at all once it starts saturating the wood, insolation and drywall.
How many people did The Wild Thag in there

Haven’t seen one of these in a while, always loved them 😁
I like the new intro. The old one was nostalgic. If this motel gets torn down, It will probably be turned into something else.
Cool video man
There's a restaurant im Pennsylvania off of interstate 80 it was called moms kitchen that was abandoned for couple years
Great New Intoro
I love the vented windows next to the pane windows.
Like that new intro
Hard to believe how this place just fell into shambles in such a short amount of time. 2017 was not long ago at all!
Love the new intro
How close would this be to Hubbard, Ohio?
Love the opening
When did it open
June 5th is the opening of the Bucees in Sevierville
Great video!
Maybe poor maintenance led to it being so bad. Those tvs hanging on the wall, haven't that in a long while. Smell that mold. Definitely be respectful and glad you got permission. Thanks for the walk around brother. 👊👊👊
When do we get to see your new friend?
Maybe I'll make an appearance soon 😊
the hotel caught on fire in 2015 and only had a few rooms available in 2016 when it closed thats why the roofs was cut
Pray tell, what was the name of the abandoned amusement park, I’m in SE Pennsylvania, I like seeing creepy old parks, but on video, I’m not going to go there, too far .
Another one for the books!
Sad though that I won’t be able to explore this place haha, would be way too late since it’s being demolished soon
I wonder why they cut the roof like that. Curious minds want to know. Lol
There are some where I used to live.
Those holes in the roof kind of look like skylight holes.
You need to do a vedio on the fire at centery 3 mall on 4 11 2023
The intro needs a remix lol.
My roomie wants samples of that wallpaper.😅
i love it
Yikes really sad condition🙀
It's schits creek lol😅
How your new friend????
I See one in Phoenix back 2021
I was thinking the fire training too
Mother nature took over it happens anywhere
You said the property owner came by and you got permission to film before you got started; did you ask the owner any questions about the place?
And did I miss something here-a different lady with you? What happened?
It was an invisible woman. You can hear her talking throughout the video but she is never seen.
FD probably did drills there it looks
Looks like motel that was explored by Cj faison
Wow
Id like to help recycle and clear it❤
So sad!
In just 6 years, it's like this?
You sure it can't be saved?
Who's the female voice in the background wallie?
Me 😊 I'm Mary, his new girlfriend.
You must be camera shy. You're definitely an expert at avoiding the camera lens.
@maryskinner3439 i just realized you replied. How come you haven't appeared in a video yet?
It’s rare to see an abonded motel
Go out to the deserts in the US there's A LOT of abandoned motels
Because they’re usually demolished in favor of something else, or at least mine were.
Depends on the area honestly.
It depends on the area. There are a lot more than you think.
Not really its common now
