And alot of people don't realise that Messi wasn't the full time free kick taker until he was 25 in 2012. So I believe if he was taking them from 2008 he would have passed 80-85 by now.
Juninho played for a long time in Brazil where there are MANY mor fouls per game. So he had more chances to score than Messi.

Juninho was simply better than anyone, I watched him at Lyon, at some point free kicks became like penalties, French commentators would be like that's a penalty for Juninho and he would score most of the time. Messi is good but even if he manages to surpass the 77 free kicks. Juninho would still be remembered as the free kick master due to the fact that he scored free kicks from ridiculous position and made it look easy.

There are people who can get that placement but nowhere near the power or speed, and there are people with the power but nowhere close to the placement. The consistency of his precision and trajectory every time he takes a free kick is extraordinary. Very rarely does he shank a ball way over. I’ve had some very good free kicks when I played but for every great kick I had exponentially more shanks and balls that weren’t close.
