I've been watching football since the Pelé, Best, Cruyff, Maradona, R9, Zidane, Dinho, Cristiano, era's. Messi's the best ball runner-controller, I've seen & it's not even close. He can go fast- slow, slow-fast, at knots speeeds, while twisting-turning in zero spaces, the naked eye can hardly spot. Modern defenders approach & press in groups of 2 to 4 & he still skins them. Even at the remarkable age of near 36. That in itself, is mind blowing.

What what i find most incredible about Messi. Is his ball playing skills right up into his mid 30s, are still near intact from his early 20s, to still do it at world cup winning levels. I've honestly never seen a player retain that kind of polished eliteness for that long.
