In my campaign I have a magical room that they can rent. It comes with a key and if inserted into a specific doors around the kingdom(usually in taverns/inns)it opens into a 20' X 20' X 10' room. Renters are allowed to store almost anything with a few restrictions. Restrictions include no cursed/potentially dangerous items, no creatures and you can't sleep/live in it.
More like this please. They say the one thing the lioness teaches her daughters more than anything else is not how to hunt but how to deal with going hungry tonight.
The only story I can think of is from my 1AD&D days. I DMed a “TPK”, but one survivor was wearing a ring of resurrection so even the rubble from the explosion of two artifacts breaking against each other couldn’t keep him dead. All others on both sides died.
I don't know how I feel about the form.... on one hand... sure it gives the DM an idea of character end-goals but those endgoals are moving targets. In general for us we have a few motivations... 1. Gain meaningful advantages to the homeland. Our game is tethered to the national management aspects of Birthright so gaining assets and advantage in the RPG side, translates to advantages in the more strategic side of things. 2. Get married and have children. We play as one of the kids or a close relative of our current characters... as such, having kids is necessary for us to have our next character... which is kind of important and for those playing as nobles, having children, even a few bastards, is kind of useful. 3. Carve a role for yourself and earn a reputation. Whether it is tethered to a strategy game, it shouldn't be surprising that this is important. Basically allows the character to continue being played when the next generation of the RPG starts.
of course they are moving goals, but take a look at you yourself, you at least have a rough idea on IF you want to retire and if you do, you've got a rough idea at what age you want to. Could that change? Sure, but as you sit right now, you at least have an idea. Likewise, you know that you'd like to leave something behind for family (or perhaps not - but if not, you at least know that as well). Think of this as kindav.... an.. estate planner for your character.
1:01 Gamera... So, since Im relatively assured that none of my 3.5 players watch you, im going to write this online...but... Im playing an Eberron Artificer in a 3.5 game, right? He's a Dwarf born on Xen'drik to a minor Hold who moved out of the Mrorholds because of politics; but after the Stormlord destroyed their home, the Hold moved back to Khorvaire...he also lost his mum in that. However, he's also half Azer, because of things that also happen in areas of Xen'drik...so his "Dad"s side of the family is still abouts. Now, he grew up during the end of the Last War, and for all the other players know, he was just another Artisen... ...he wasn't... Also, there's no Artisan's Academy in Thronehold... He learnt the Artificer ways in Cyre, and he has intimate knowledge in Creation Forges and Constructs...his end goal is to build a "Demigod-like Construct" with neigh-invulnerability, and to reign his will over those who he sees as "evil" (He's Chaotic Good). My DM is already aware that I have plans to make a prototype Shield Guardian construct as a test-bed to blending Construct/Homunculus & Warfroged components together...but that I have plans on a "bigger construct". And, I know... "Why not Godzilla?" ...Because Big G isn't a Construct! ...but Gamera *IS*! Gamera is a construct created by ancient Atlanteans to protect children...more or less...the innocent. *THIS* goes fantastically in with my Artificer's philosophy of making things safe, a neigh-invulnerable construct, and his affinity for things with "fire"...because Gamera has Fire-based powers...but is a giant Turtle...who flies... Look, its better not to examine in detail the giant death machine, and just accept that it works! LOL! ...so...yeah... My Artificer is going to build Gamera and then wipe out all Daelkyr and Quori...and maybe one VERY SPECIFIC Roc...stupid Stormlord! Also... MY GOODNESS! The cheek in this video! LOL!
This is great for the trend of dd24 of PCs are very long lived this is could be a valued component 👍 “The end game form” is in every one’s future weather they admit it or not 👍 Keep rocking and rolling and keep rolling 20🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉
"he died rushing into the dragon's lair screaming something like 'Leroy Jenkins'. that's the last we heard of him".
heh exactly where my mind what when I was going over this. I was VERY disappointed when I learned that that was staged. :(
@@gamemasters you know the movie quote: “when the legend becomes fact, print the legend”.
I would love to see ideas about where characters can store their extra wealth and gear that they don’t carry with them on adventures.
@@JeffWittyArt mine have gotten very creative over the years... I've got a tale or three I can share for sure!
Yes.
Inventory from outer dimensions is on vogue.

@@gamemasters That is fair, treating it as a snapshot that can be updated seems like a good idea provided the DM is flexible with it.
