It is a horrible welfare state country. The people are nice, the land is nice but the system of government is just horrible.
The whole country revolves around welfare and nobody is allowed to criticize the welfare state in Ireland at all even though it makes up about 70% of all government expenditure.

Loved those female voices singing as our view soared majestically over all those vast verdant landscapes...

I'm from Iowa, USA. My Dad immigrated here in 1949 and farmed his entire life. A hard but good life it was! In '76 our family visited Eire, Wales and England. I ugh, kissed the Blarney Stone. Dad was born and raised near Fanore, Co. Clare. Our family castle in the 1600's was Bunratty. My ancestors were a rogue bunch for sure. Our stay in and around Fanore was FAR TOO SHORT! With my cousin and her Cockney boyfriend, we walked into the Burren for 10+ miles, I was NOT wearing the right shoes but okay at 18 years old. We came across a ruined castle on my Dad's land! Nothing more than piles of rubble, though but, I'd sure like to know it's history. Her Cockney BF? VERY hard to understand! I'd love to go back and spend a couple of months with my tons of cousins and research Clare history. But, I'd hate to leave my Corgi at home. You haven't posted in at least 3 years. It'd sure be nice if you could do a special on castles and manor houses in Clare and all over Eire. Best wishes to all, Kevin McNamara

So Ireland is more grassy green and Scotland is more rocky and mountains?

+Piotr S Not quite, Spain has not only the gorgeous weather, the amazing history, the fantastic cuisine and the lovely people, the also have so many different landscapes. Take Galicia and Asturias, those regions look just like Ireland, but they also have high mountains, amazing beaches, hughe plateaus and one desert. I love Ireland but Spain is on a different level.

  • @KenKeegan

Oh Ireland does look lovely from above. There is parts in that video that I, as an Irish person born and bred here, would say make this country look beautiful. But I'm going to be honest, it's not that nice when you put them aerial shots to the ground.
Think about the tourist that was in the country less then a 2 hours and got a glass bottle smashed over his head, or what about the 2 German tourists that came over for St. Patrick's day and got jumped on by some of our local teens for not having a lighter, and then how about the gang of our beautiful young intelligent teens (I hope you can smell the sarcasm) left a tourist hospitalised after they robbed his hat and when he tried to get it back, yes you guessed it, that all ganged up on him.
So the front cover of our nice land looks beautiful and green but look between the pages and you will see what really exists. Now, i know every country is that same and you cant even be safe in your own home any more, but its the harsh truth about it all. I think Ireland is a beautiful place, one of the nicest in the world, but just to look at. and now let the verbal abuse of comments begin, but the truth really hurts doesn't it?

KayKayVlogs Im going to be honest, my dad was born in Drogheda, mother is Canadian so im a duel citizen born in Canada but i have been living in Ireland for the past 8 years and I have to agree with your statement. Even though I am not Irish sounding I am still Irish and I was actually discriminated when I was going to school over here for being Canadian which was quite strange indeed... If the Irish people changed their ways this country could be gorgeous, the land is beautiful, though it does get kind of muggy especially during the winter but if the people were more kind and considerate and less stuck in their ways this country could thrive and be the best it could be.
