Henri the second was a member of the plantagenet house, which was from Anjou. The plantagenet house was the second "french" house to rule england after the norman one. But at this time France didnt exist in its current shape and Anjou was a possesion of the english crown, so Henri II was at the same time vassal of the king of France Phillipe August and king of england. Henri II was educated in French, and even the english nobility was at time time, French was a really prestigious language that's why it was the language of the nobility. What is important to understand is that the cultural border was pretty much non existent betweem england and France, and even today british monarqs still speak french.

Personnaly , it's women
@Meyer Mica like anywhere we got the American influence of fast foods, though you can find good food almost anywhere in France. From more rural meals to the fancier ones
@Meyer Mica as we say in french "les goûts et les couleurs.... "
@Meyer Mica though rural french food is definitely not about eye catching! What meal are you thinking about?
I never heard of these place's, very Beautiful Though.
Fantastic vídeo! Thanks.
FRANCE ,mon amour..........thanks.
superb view from above paris
+Ajmal shah It's not Paris at all. It's the Loire Valley.
Qu'ils sont beaux nos châteaux! Ils y en tant d'autres à l'abandon! Je ne connais pas l'Italie mais il doit y avoir également parmi les plus beaux bâtiments de la planète! Thanks
Simply fantastic!! Thanks for sharing! Greetings from San Francisco.
Superb !!! Thank you.
Lovely video! We added it to our Google+ Collection on FRANCE (Family Travel Inspiration).

you forgot the chateau des Ducs de Bretagne in Nantes. MY TOWN !!!!😥
Finally a House that could pleasure my needs.
at 11:52 -- oddly omitted by the commentary, what looks like a tiny cathedral comes into view in the lower left corner. What is little more than a single room chapel inside contains one thing: the final resting place of Leonardo da Vinci
Thank you for sharing that tidbit. Leonardo DaVinci one of our heroes
That was marvelous ....!!
I wish they showed the interior of those magnificent palaces . 🕊🙏💓

Magnifique et fantastique!
Splendid!
Great love from India
a very good film. We have just passed the Loire River, Amboise, and some of the chateaus on our way from Brittany back to Berlin.

All I managed to do while viewing this fine video was to pass gas and make water on my mistress. No, I meant mattress. 😄
Loved the idea of aerial views of the chateaux; not so much on the Brit narrating. Most of the names of the chateaux were muffled. It would have been a good idea to post the names of the chateaux as each one appeared on screen.
+Eristhenes Use subtitles to get the names of the Chateaux!
Greetings from Great Britain 🇬🇧
muy bello viaje por los cielos del LOIRE
beautiful shots
I am falling asleep to this every night
The video fails to mention that from 1921 to 1935, Chateau Fontainbleau was home to the American Music School, headed by the remarkable Nadia Boulenger. Among her pupils were Daniel Barenboim, Elliott Carter, Aaron Copland, David Diamond, John Eliot Gardiner, Philip Glass, Roy Harris, Quincy Jones, Michel Legrand, Igor Markevitch, Darius Milhaud, Astor Piazzolla, Lalo Schifrin & Virgil Thomson.
Excellent Video. Totally loved it.
Fantastic documentary, so informative.
What he doesn't say is that Henri the second of England was in reality a Frenchman.
He was indeed born in actual France, in Le Mans
Like the old house of william the conquerer and the angevin house.
@@maximeperez-raymond3346 Guillaume le Conquérant... puisqu'il était vassal du Roi de France, bien avant d'être roi d'Angleterre et avant son expédition anglaise ;)

Thank you!! It's amazing!
Amazing!!!!
Magnifique Magnifique Vue
Какие красивые замки!
So many thousands of castles in France that it would take more than 100 years to visit them all! And when we know that during the Renaissance period they destroyed thousands of medieval castles and also the destruction during the 2 world wars, then imagine the quantity ....

Years ago (we I use to watch cable tv) you all made a video call "Cote De Azure" (sp?) & it had Ertha Kitt singing in the background while you filmed filmed flying over the entirety of the French coast from Spain to Italy. I loved soooo much!!! If you still have it can you put it on UA-cam for us?
Excellent video thanks for sharing
