I just moved to New York City from Portland, OR. I lived in NW for a few years. All the good spots are in the East Side, some hidden gems. Don't sleep on Ken's.
Escape from New York hits different you should have done this with pepperoni instead of cheese pizza there’s no way apizza scholls is better I never tried it but you should try pizza jerk or escape from ny again
@@JOKER-wm1bw Agee completely. I have been eating it since the early 80's too and for a slice it's the best and reminiscent of NY or South Jersey but for a pizza it's Apizza Scholl's hands down.
Hey I’ve been away from PdX for almost 5yrs now, but if they’re still around, Ken’s artisan Pizza, Scottie’s Pizza, Lovely’s Fifty Fifty, and Pyro’s (this one was a food cart on Hawthorne) will be worth adding to this competition!! Though Apozza Scholls is also my all time favorite pizza spot in PDX even with the others I listed! Great work
Scottie’s Pizza Parlor is my favorite you have to try it! It’s a sourdough pizza super simple menu and super tasty. He grew up in brooklynn. But since you liked apizza scholls. You should try Red Sauce pizza because the girl who owns it used to work at apizza scholls. So both of there doughs are made using Poolish preferments so there doughs are well fermented. And easy to digest 👏🏻
Wow, with the inside scoop! Thank you for this info lol. I’ve tried Scotties and they’re definitely cool. Will get over to Red Sauce and try it out soon
Yes! Atlas is cool and ppl have mentioned Boxcar. I’ll definitely take a trip out to them soon. Thanks a bunch. What’s your favorite pizza in Portland overall?
Nice video man, I'm Also from NY that moved to Portland. Long island to be more specific. So far my favorite spot has been Straight from NY Pizza on Burnside. Been looking but Haven't had anything better.
I'm a pizza lover and been to NYC a few times on pizza tours and I can say without a doubt there is more bad pizza in NYC than good. The dollar slices are horrid. I could eat John's on Bleeker all day.
@@MouseOnFeet Portland doesn't have the population density to pencil out $1 slices like Manhattan. I'm not aware of other places you've tried yet but PDX has more Neopolitan style than NYC. I've had pizza from coast to coast and PDX has some gems you might have not discovered yet though if you want a traditional NY slice you'll be wanting more.
Loved this video! If you ever have the chance, be sure to try Stark Street Pizza as well as Flying Pie Pizzeria 😃 I’ve lived in the Portland area my whole life basically and I’ve always enjoyed these two places🍕
@@MouseOnFeet I used to work at flying pie in st johns its pretty good! I think the standard pies have too thick of crust and too much crust on the other options like the stuffed pizzas for me ! I would always make my personals wayyy thinner so if you go ask for a thin crust !
Liked and subscribed to your channel. Enjoy the perspective from another former East Coaster who has been living in Portland since January 2021. I have become a little bit of a sneakerhead since moving to PDX. I live only a block away from Ranch and I think it’s pretty good. I will most definitely try Apizza Scholls on Hawthorne soon.
Liked and subscribed to your channel even though I do not like sneakers :( Please keep posting like these videos :) I am going to try the Apizza Scolls SOOOON
I grew up in and still live in portland, it makes me glad knowing that all the REALLY good pizza places are still undiscovered. I would put none of these places even in the top 10 honestly. All these are just trendy hipster places lol
This video is wack damn. I've had a lot of pizza... Calling pizza thief a 1 or 1.5/10 is basically saying you have never had pizza. Where would dominos, 7-eleven, that shitty $2 frozen pizza at the store go, if pizza thief is a 1 or 1.5???? With other food reviewers I can get a grasp on what they are looking for, but your taste buds seem EXTREMELY off. Although apizza schols is the best on the list.
I hate to give someone a 1 but Pizza Thief gave us burnt, pickled pizza. They might not always be that bad but we can only judge them on what they give us.
Baby Doll and Boxcar go hard my dude! Highly recommend.
Ha,Portland is known for its pizza
Guiseppe’s hands down, best. It’s a ways out tho. Also try that Flying Pie
Thanks for the recommendations and for tuning in. I’ll definitely check those out soon
Head to Tigard and try Pizza Caboose.
I’ll do this, just for you
@@MouseOnFeet the 🐐
If we are talking about PDX metro not just Portland try Nonna Emilia's on the West side of town.
There are like 200 hundred places in Portland y'all didn't go to the James Beard mentions just mostly in nw district hit some other places😂
Try SFNY on West Burnside
I’ve been there twice but wasn’t really into their pizza
@@MouseOnFeet
I hear ya, it’s tough to find that quintessential “East Coast” slice out here - thank you for your effort and review!
Yaya
🍕 🍕
You have to try Bella pizza on Alberta
I’ll be checking them out soon
Moved to Portland from NY as well going on 2 yrs
2 Years! That’s big. Congrats on the move and hope you’re loving it out here
Go to pizza Schmizza and pizza Roma!!
Pizza Schmizza is cool. Was actually the first pizza I had when I moved here. I’ll have to get out to Pizza Roma soon. Thanks for the rec
The small bite y’all each took of that last pizza 😂😂😂I enjoyed every minute of this. Would love to see more mouse on feet food reviews!
😭 that pizza was unique. I’ll give it that. Smelled like pickle juice.
Definitely want to turn this into a series. Hopefully it gets some traction
Ever tried Good Neighbor? The sweet and spicy is 🔥
I’ll definitely check out their sweet and spicy slice. Thank you for the recommendation!
Can you do the best burger in Portland now???
Apizza Scholls the goat
Truth! 🍕
Cheese pie is amazing. Char and crunchy crust, and the sauce is out of this world.
Grandma - Mama Emma R.I.P. 😇
Shoulda also gone to hot lips
I’m not sold on Hot Lips. The few times I’ve had them, it’s been pretty eh
That first one is not deep dish 😬
😭 it definitely wasn’t
Yeah that pan/Detroit style
Donna
You not gonna be able to walk the streets in Portland after this 😂
😂😂😂 Whoever runs Pizza Thief is gonna be looking for me
21st Century pizza is bomb AF
Yes, 21st is decent. Wish I had them in the video
I like it crispy
They got artichoke pizza tho?👀
😂😂 unfortunately not the pizzeria but I’m sure there’s some places making artichoke pizza out here
Apizza Scholls is the best
I completely agree!
You missed some good places like Scottie’s, Ken’s artisan pizza, lovelys50/50 and for a totally different style , dove vivi.

Sunnys se 13th
Is the best apizza scholls is very good aswell. To bad char closed they were the best
Yeah, wish I could’ve had Sunny’s in this one too
Did Char close down during the pandemic?

Preach… escape from New York is the O.G. artisan pizza in Portland… been eating it since the early 80’s… and never disappoints
Dope to hear about their history. They’re cool people too

From the northeast. Italian food is not it here as well as Latin food. People here assume Mexican food is all of Latin America.
True. I miss the NY Italian food 😔
DiNicolas is the best...
lol I love how many favorites people have around town
Tell how much these pies cost
Im SHOCKED Rudys Pizza in Portland wasn't on here! Hands down BEST Pizza in Portland! Right off Powell by Cleavland High School.
Rudy’s is solid
Cool intro!! I just moved to Portland too and need good recommendations! Please do burgers!
Thank you!! Gonna be cooler when KD’s playing in Portland
I couldn’t agree more!!

Just moved out here recently as well so this was super helpful! A bagel/lox episode would be dope!
Welcome to Portland! Would love to do a bagel episode 😋 Thanks for watching
Great video!!! Fast food burgs to try - burgerville, little big burger, and super deluxe
Thanks for tuning in! Burgerville is solid and love the sauce at Little Big Burger. They’ll both be in the burger video when it comes

Check out baby doll pizza. You will have a new #1 pizza spot. I’m from Jersey!
Thanks! They’ve got some good pizza for sure
I don't think you know what a good pizza is! 🤣🤣🤣 Liked anyway, no hate. ✌🏼✌🏼
😂😂 Thanks for tuning in. Definitely had fun trying all these pizzas regardless of the scores
New York pizza is WAY overrated.
I agree. But being in Portland definitely makes me miss the options out there
@MouseOnFeet Try Ken's Artizen. It's top 10 in the USA. AND GET SOME TOPPINGS! Pizza in Portland has ingredients.
