I like that your always thinking Outside of the Box. Your creativity is a gift for you and we are benefiting from the results.
Thank you.
Thank you for showing the trick, smart solution to let dehumidifier work continually.
I drilled a hole in the lower part of the tank and put a plug from a cheap squirt gun to close off the drilled hole when I want to capture the water in the dehumidifier tank instead of letting it drain.
I have a dehumidifier on all the time its parked, also a ceramic heater on during the winter. I leave all cupboards open and refer.
That is a FANTASTIC free little modification to these little de-hu's
I have a large dehumidifier in our camper. South Louisiana is like South Texas hot and humid. I place the humidifier on a chair in the hall. I hook up a short water hose and let it drain into the shower drain. Works great.
Happened to stumble across your dehumidifier hack. I've done the same thing and made sure I found a plug that fits into the hole. That way if I want to use it where I cannot put it into a sink, it won't overflow onto the counter or table it's sitting on. Able to use it anywhere and no water spilling out if we don't want it.
Hi! Really liked the idea of the strip across the top of the window! Smart, cheap, and simple!!
Dehumidifier hack is pretty smart too.
Just wanted to say thanks for some smart ideas. Besides, I know that comments help "the algorithm" and I like to be supportive. I've learned a lot by watching your channel.
Thanks again!!
Thanks!
Great information for us high humidity SE Texas folks.
Little ideas with great impact. Thank you as always.
We always run a dehumidifier when our rig is not in use too. We even use it when camping in more humid environments. We purchased a dehumidifier that is for 2,000sqft so it keeps things dry and mold free. The .66 gal water catch fills up around every 24 hours. When home, I install a hose to automatically drain it into the gray tank. Great informative video as always J.D. Safe travels!
I use one of the the larger ones and leave it in the shower draining into the gray tank.
Great idea
Your bug gizmo isn’t a gimmick. They actually work very well, for ants anyway. Use to get ants in kitchen and bath, but no more. Thanks for the review of the dehumidifier. Good fix on the window.
Excellent idea about the dehumidifier.
Thanks for sharing.
My first thought is that you have something plugged into power that could get wet when water comes out the hole you drilled. How about sitting it on the grate that goes over the sink? That way it could drain into the sink, but the dehumidifier wouldn't get wet.
I’m glad you’ve had luck with the dehumidifier. We’ve used that exact model for three years now (we have two of them in our 34’ rig) and haven’t been thrilled. They do pull out some moisture, but the humidity in our rig is still very high. Of course, this is with us using the rig (so four bodies breathing) vs storage. We also live in the humid SE. In our situation, a large dehumidifier would work best, but those take up a lot of space, put off heat and are expensive... so two of these little guys is what we have.
We have a floor model in our rig that we leave at the lake . We leave the dehumidifier on the kitchen island countertop and run the drain hose into the sink .
Cool Modification, and good Improvising. Thanks.
We have the same dehumidifier. We only use it while camping. Works great.
I need one of the larger units for winter camping.
Two great ideas. I never thought of keeping air conditioner on auto.
Great dehumidifying hack.
I use same dehumidifier in my truck camper and also place in the sink
Dehumidifier is fine to put in your sink I would just make sure that when it drains it avoids the electrical connection in the base. Also you could put it on something to raise it up a little to avoid any infiltration to the electrical. Great idea with the rubber strip.
We have one of them little dehumidifiers in every room. When we stay in the camper all of them need dumped everyday. Must be pretty dry where you are compared to the Midwest.
Good stuff !! 🙂
I do this exact thing with mine but I have a bigger dehumidifier. Also I let the grey tank drip cause otherwise the tank fills up quick especially in Florida.
I didn't want to make any holes or anything so the hose just drains into my sink.
What about adding a tube in that opening and have that drain into the sink. Just add a spout and hose used for aquarium and some silicone to make sure it does not leak. I do like this hack gives me an idea.
This would be great from truck camper (TC) owners. One of TC owners biggest gripes is dealing with moisture in cooler months. When not using AC, the condensation from breathing alone can make the small interiors of truck campers damp but when you turn on the propane furnace, it is even worse. I never realized propane created so much moisture.
I've known people that just kept one or two 60 watt light bulbs burning all winter in their RVs and never had any trouble with moisture.
Of course, incandescent light bulbs are now extinct...
Do you have a link for the seal you used
My only thought would be that if you have it in the sink the main water it is collecting could be right out of the gray tank through the sink drain. It may not be pulling the moisture out of the air as effectively. Just a thought.
Thank you.
Tinting your windows to a 5% and the rest to 10-15%
215 sq feet
Brilliant idea drilling the hole in the reservoir. Do you have any recommendations for RV's or caravans in storage that don't have access to shore or solar power but rather just a 12v leisure battery. I was looking for rechargable dehumidifiers but couln't find any. Thanks Shawn
First thing I Love your channel very informative Question for you I know recommend a f-j load range tire travel trailers and fifth wheels but what load range for class a-c motorhomes or are they rated different?
I'm sure you can plug the hole back up rather easily with some rubber when you arent storing your RV
Looks like they would use three supports for the shade
Good mods.
Brilliant! Quick question though: you mentioned you had your bedroom slide halfway out. I’ve read that partially extending slides can lead to issues with the motors syncing. Thoughts on that? Thanks!
That rubber trim would work great on my kitchen slide inside the rig. There is a gap and would seal it up so debris doesn't get under the slide. Can you post a link to it?
if you move the the balance clips, is there anything for the screws to bite in and secure into?
Question. Do you have any videos featuring your forest river vibe?
For the light issue you could also use some automotive grade vinyl inside or out side on the glass if you wanted. As far as dehumidifier, we are living full time and use a larger unit than that with both ac units running as well. We leave it set at around 40% and pull close to a gallon a day, since we are there to monitor we just empty it manually. I debated on making a outlet drain and decided against it.
I want a good USB powered dehumidifier so I can it when on battery. Still trying to find what is a good one.
Where did you get the rubber seal from?
Wondering, if your humidifier is in the sink and it's draining into the sink, then it's sitting in water . Electricity and water isn't a safe thing. 😕
Do you recommend to have the air conditioning set at 82 just for summer time? What about if the outside temperature if it’s above 90 do you adjust it to a different temperature? And do you run the furnace in winter time ? Thanks in advance
I just keep it at 82 or 84 depending on if I plan on stopping by
How do you run 2 ac’s on 30amp?
Soft start and staggered starting. Each unit draws around 12amps when running. All three are also 13.5k BTU units.
Skip ahead. Useful info doesn't start until 6:27.
4:00 minute for de humidifier?
I leave the drawer out.
Hysure model
I put my full
I put my full size dehumidifier in the shower. Drain hose sits on the floor of the shower. No need to worry about leaks.
🌿
are you a vampire ?
Supposed to go to bed night time and get up at light..lol
Aren't you supposed to get up when the sun comes up???? :)
Would that be enough of a dehumidifier for west coast Florida type humidity?
Your humidy is similar to ours here, so I'd say probably
When the sun's up its time to get up 🙂
Title and video content are not related 🤦
On the over the bed window; unnecessary, shouldn't be there.
I dont want or like a window over bed..
so will it stay after the Sticky gets 150 degrees let us know...LMAO ! Hell let us know if the Bug things work since you have no idea.... Drill a hole.....hell of a hack......lmfao
It just seems weird that you were commenting and laughing at the same time I wonder if people were looking at you funny
@@BigTruckBigRV looking, not so much. I wonder what i70s definition of a hack is? Did i70 think of it?! Prob not. Got a link for the tape thing from amazon?
@@BigTruckBigRV I get it you need to put content out It is usually more thought out is all....thats why I was giggling....
Just leave the tank off
Why are you waffling on about some shite fitting blinds?? A video supposedly specifically about a dehumidifier and 4 minutes in STILL not so much as a mention of a dehumidifier!
