I love the magical feel that Nightwish have in their songs. In the intros of Edema Ruh, Sahara, Alpenglow, I Want My Tears Back, Ever Dream, and etc. They definitley stand out in the mix of symphonic metal bands like Delain, Epica, Within Temptation, Xandria, After Forever, Apocalyptica, and etc.
The word Alpenglo is a reddish glow seen near sunset or sunrise on the summits of mountains. It's quite beautiful actually. Just shows how imaginative and descriptive Nightwish can be.
I sent ODITS to my mother and it made her cry because it reminded her of my grandpa who passed away when I was 3-5 years old. My brother being named after him.
Whenever I listen to this album and Human Nature, I picture a bunch of animals in nature. Like tarsiers, axolotls, aye ayes, and etc. Interesting how Nightwish went from nature to romance to religion to winter to evolution back to nature. Nightwish are incredible men and women.
